Interaction with guest

Outdoor pursuits include Horse Trekking, White Water Rafting, Kayaking, Golf, Trout or Salmon fishing. In winter, (May-Sept) eight Ski & Snowboard fields are within an hours drive, including Mount Hutt, Mount Dobson and Lake Tekapo's Roundhill, and Fox Peak ski field, Ice Skating and Big Red Quad bikes on ice. In twenty minutes to Peel Forest, Pleasant point or Temuka just 20 minutes more and you're at the seaside at Caroline Bay, Timaru. Aoraki Mount Cook and Lake's Tekapo, Opuha, Heron and Pukaki are popular day tours and treks. Lord of the Rings and Hobbit scenery trips to Mount Sunday (Village of Edoras) are very popular. You can go any direction from here in the Central South Is, so people use the farm as a base for day trips.

“Disappointed”

We arrived expecting a lot only to be very disappointed! Some of us had to sleep in their actually house (I’m sure this was not mentioned on the website!) - one of the cabins didn’t even h… More

Response from the owner Very sorry that you were disappointed, more so that you never mentioned any of this during your stay. We had just had three months of rain and the first day suitable to use the pool was the day after you arrived so we emptied and cleaned up the pool area for you to use. Our good Kayaks are all way down at the river, you just saw some old at the pond. We accept the spur on to water blast the Cottage & Cabin and replace the seats around the fire pit and will do that ASAP. We should have communicated more Di, as I have a large new BBQ as well and could have arranged that for you. Dave

Response from the owner Thanks for your feedback Matte, it is helpful. I think you are quite right in your comments. We had four weeks of wet weather without a break before you came and had to literally mowdown the grass as we couldn't catch it, even with our new mower. You'll be glad to know we have immediately responded by: 1) Cleaned the spouting. 2) Installed the trampoline in at ground level 3) oiled the swing, so it won't squeak 4) recut the grass and catcher it. 5) oiled the outdoor furniture Our winter plan includes replacing the shower floor with a wet floor and repairing the broken board on the deck. It was unfortunate Matte that the weather during your stay didn't allow us to complete a farm tour and trip to the Limestone Wave, Caves and mushroom rock with the family, so what I'd like to do is offer these to you all free of charge at a date which suits to give everyone the quality farm experience that the weather didn't allow us to enjoy when you stayed. I'd have also like time to chat with you more Matte, so perhaps we can do this also. Uncle Dave
