Description
Welcome to Maisonneuve in one our three beautifully restored, traditional French cottages. In the very heart of the Dordogne, South West France.
Nestled on the side of a valley, all properties offer breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Set in 3 acres of land, at the end of a quiet country lane, there is no traffic and no noise, allowing you to enjoy the spectacular surroundings without distraction.
All three cottages have been restored to a very high standard, retaining their rustic charm while still offering you all the home comforts you will need for your stay. From the wide oak floors and original stone walls, to the beautifully renovated wooden worktops, each house has bags of charm and character that will make your stay with us truly special.
The largest of the three properties, Le Tournant has its own private full sized swimming pool with secluded sun terrace overlooking the valley. Sleeping up to 10 people, with 3 bedrooms at the first floor, 2 bedrooms at the attic and 2 bathrooms, and a picturesque wisteria covered outdoor dining area, Le Tournant is the perfect holiday home for a bigger family.
Please be aware the toilets are at the second floor and the stairs to the attic are steep and therefore Le Tournant is less suitable for people with walking difficulties.
The house itself comprises a 70 square meter living area. The open plan kitchen boasts incredible views over the valley, with lovingly restored oak worktops, it is well equipped to provide you with everything you will need for your stay.
The dining area with a beautiful walnut dining table, comfortably seats 10 people. And for those winter evenings, snuggle up in the cosy sitting area in front of the original fireplace and open fire.
The second floor has 2 double bedrooms and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds. The third and top floor of the house (the attic) has been designed with children in mind. Each of the 2 bedrooms has 2 single beds.
The master bedroom is en suite, the family bathroom includes a double sink unit and a shower.
The house, while traditional in style, offers all the modern comforts with central heating throughout, fully equipped kitchen, TV, CD and WiFi.
And for the children a specious play ground attached to the house.
But what makes Le Tournant really special are its views. Whether you are sitting by the pool, enjoying an evening meal on the wisteria covered terrace or simply waking up on a warm sunny morning, we guarantee the views really will take your breath away.

A great location with a beautiful south facing view across a small rural valley. An easy place to spend your time just watching the swallows and the kites fly by. You will need a car for shops and there are only limited number of restaurants locally. However local supermarket is only 10 mins away and had everything we needed need - including cheap fuel. An easy location to get to as motorway is nearby and a good base to explore the Dordogne area. You should be aware that there are 3 properties on site. We had however absolutely no issues with this during our stay as each property has a reasonable amount of private space and there is amble parking.

Ideal for those who prefer the silence of the country side, but not too remote. They benefit this way the best of two worlds.

“All you need for a relaxing holiday !”
The house more then big enough for my family ( 6 adults en 2 childeren) Big kitchen with al the kitchenware needed to cooke. But above all an magnificent view from the 3 terraces over the valley. Also a big pool with the same magnificent view. Truly a vacationhouse I would recommend to friends. And a verry nice and friendly owner !

“Just a week was too short”
We stayed with a group for a spiritual workshop on Chakra's, their healing power from a western-spiritual way of looking and experiencing. The house, its environment, the silence and the privacy was a perfect bedding for this purpose... We said to each other afterwards: "if only we could stay a week longer just to relax, enjoy the surroundings, swim, ride our bicycles, read, do nothing..." “Restful, refreshing holiday location.”
Wonderful property all you need is at hand. So quiet but within driving distance of some fantastic places....Sarlart is a wonderful day out. The views from the property are lovely and you can easily wonder where the day has gone by doing absolutely nothing!. The ages of our party ranged from 15 to 73 and we all loved this break....so much so we are booking again for next year.....the first time we have done this in twenty years of holidaying in France.
