Description
Welcome to our home, a typical Charentaise house set in the beautiful countryside of Charente-Maritime near St Jean d'Angély. Located in a small hamlet (about a dozen houses in all) this is the perfect place to get away from it all and simply relax.
The house is built from local stone and has been renovated to a very high standard as it is our personal home from home. Beautiful gardens with heated swimming pool. It is the perfect hideaway for those looking for some well-earned peace and quiet.
When you do venture out there is plenty to see and do. There are the beaches of Royan and the beautiful harbour town of La Rochelle with its fine restaurants and shops is about an hour away. Cognac is a mere 15 miles away and for the kids, the Atlantis Waterpark can be a blast for those into waterslides. All this and reputedly one of the best climates in all of France.

“Nice a peaceful stay”
The photos do not do it justice, it’s a lovely house and so peaceful, we had a great stay. The pool and garden area was great, many an hour spent in the pool. There are plenty of outside seating areas, both front and back of the house so you can be in the sun or shade, plus plenty of umbrellas if you want to keep out of the sun. The house is a great base to access multiple activities around the area, plenty of lovely restaurants a short drive away, the kitchen is perfect and well stocked if you want to cook at the house. Michel is on hand if required, as lives next door, we saw him once when arriving.
