1890's 2 bed detached former Coach House looking out onto the Firth of Clyde and from its beach has views to Loch Long. This comfortable holiday home makes for a relaxing break. It is set within privately maintained grounds with the added security of private off road parking

Caberfeidh Coach House is situated in the village of Kilcreggan. The perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoy the real outdoors in fantastic surroundings! Walking distance to local bar and cafe, a convenience store with cash machine, chemist, butcher, retro shop and antique shop

The property is a 5 minute walk to the local ferry. This provides regular crossings to Gourock which takes approx. 12 minutes. From Gourock there are a number of onward connections either to the surrounding islands or catch a train to Glasgow City Centre. Alternatively you can catch a local bus to Helensburgh where you will find a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Helensburgh provides further connections by train direct to Glasgow City Centre

“A perfect, relaxing stay”

This is a lovely coach house located right on the water with amazing views. We were warmly welcomed by the owner Millie and really appreciated the extra touches of wine, chocolates, fresh fruit and flowers. Millie also took the time to give us a run down of the local area. The coach house is comfortable, cosy and has everything you need with parking right outside. The shared garden is huge and has a more private decking area for the coach house. It was perfect for our little one and she loved using the slide and trampoline! Locally the cafe and pub do lovely food and theres an amazing ice cream shop in cove overlooking the water. We had an amazing, relaxing holiday and would highly recommend.

“Lovely stay”

The coach house was perfect for our week in Kilcreggan. Millie met us on arrival and let us know about things to do and places to eat. She was friendly and welcoming. The house itself suited our needs, it was clean and well equipped with a lovely seating area to enjoy the sun. We couldn't have asked for better weather which meant we could go out each day and explore. Kilcreggan is the perfect base to do this.

“It was okay, NOT kid friendly!”

The coach house was a good size for 4-5 people. We came to visit my sister who lives nearby. I am giving this accommodation 3 stars due to false advertising. The site says there's a dryer, one of the reasons we booked here but there is not a dryer and you have to line dry all your clothes. I purposely packed light for our week there expecting to be able to wash and dry all of our clothes. Good thing the weather was good while we stayed cause most times it's overcast and drizzly everyday. How do you dry your clothes, then? We also brought our kids because it was advertised to be good for kids, however there were way too many breakables in the house that I had to put up on high shelves away from my children. The staircase is also very dangerous for kids and my nephew fell down the stairs twice. We had to buy our own toiletries. A few things were available upon arrival but we ran out of toilet paper and trash bags and such and when we asked the owner for extra supplies she said she doesn't provide it and that "everyone who comes expects something different." I think this needs to be clearly advertised that you need to pay for basic supplies. The owner did, however, give us trash bags and some laundry detergent which was nice. The owners child came into our cottage by himself while we had company, which was a little awkward. Owner encouraged my children and nephews to play with her sons toys that she brought out for them and was a bit miffed when some went missing or were damaged. I can't say I blame her but in defense her child was seen throwing many of the same toys around in the yard and into the tall ornamental grass, so how are my children solely to blame? Owner had a party last night we were staying there and one of her guests must have been smoking near the cottage because it was coming in the windows and we had to close them all. It was quite offensive to my pregnant sister. We also were charged for a broken clock radio which I was happy to pay for, however she asked for 70 American dollars to replace it! I have never in my life seen a radio cost that much and that is just absurd. She also passively blamed my children for a broken solar light, but again she has a child and had guests over. Overall the location was good and we enjoyed our stay but my husband and I were a bit perturbed by the advertising as it is not the best for these accommodations. Would recommend for adults, not kids.

Response from the owner Many thanks to this guest for pointing out the error on the website regarding the drying facilities. This has now been amended. There is a local laundrette available for guests to use, if needed, and this is explained in the information pack. I'm sorry this guest felt that the property was not child friendly as we have had many families stay and their kids have loved all the toys and games provided, especially the football table in the cottage itself. It is unfortunate that there were breakages but only one item was charged for. Incidentally the clock radio was a mini stereo system which also incorporated a CD player. It was purchased in the UK not America, so it appears a lot more expensive when you convert into dollars. Furthermore, electrical equipment is cheaper in America. Finally massive apologies to our guests for the inconsiderate nature of my guests. Ordinarily I do not hold parties when there are guests but this was not exactly a festive occasion but to mark the anniversary of my husband's death. They were invited to join us and I am surprised that any concerns were not mentioned on the night when they were socialising with us. It is important to me that guests have an enjoyable experience and we do our best to be accommodating.

“A lovely cottage in a lovely setting”

We spent an amazing time! A wonderful area, lots to see and do. There is an amazing view of the sea from the house. Millie was very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended.
