House: 5 bedrooms, 4 w/ terrace and 2 suites, 2 living rooms, a dining room, full equipped kitchen, 5 bathrooms plus outdoor shower, hot tub, centenary mango tree w/ swing, hammocks, BBQ, big trampoline, basketball hoop, garden, Wi Fi, cable TV, Netflix, 10 min away from beach and 4 minutes from PUC University. This house is perfect for families with children or teenagers. The neighborhood Gávea is a noble upscale residential neighborhood between the Botanical Garden and Leblon beach, with a city park full of green and rivers. It is where PUC University is. It is very close to the lagoon, Leblon and Ipanema beaches (10 min by taxi, bus or less than a half hour walking). It is always a couple of degrees fresher in Gavea than the rest of the city. In a 10-15 min walk you are at the Gavea Mall where you will find restaurants, bars, ATM machines, money exchange and stores in this chick neighborhood. In 7 min walk up the hill you are at IMS museum with a movie theater and restaurant. In 15 min walk you can bathe in a river water natural pool at the City Park.

Getting around

The house sits on the neighborhood main street where there are buses to the beaches (10 min ride), Botanical Garden (less than 10 min bus ride) and everywhere else. The metro bus comes nearby. Very easy to find a taxi just waiting outside the house. A taxi from the airport ranges at around 60 BRL and I can arrange one that I trust to pick my guests up. Just let me know.

Interaction with guest

I love to have guests and interact with them, suggest places to visit and even work for them as a local guide to Rio, but if guests would like to have more privacy, I would rather let them have what they want/need. My husband and I stay in the last room of the second house, the one with independent entrance, and will be there for whatever guests need/want.

House rules

Pets allowed under fee. Smoking outside. Keep the place clean. Be polite and kind. Strangers are not allowed. Guest will pay for any damage or loss. Always turn off electric devices after using and before leaving the house. Voltage is 110V. It is fine to use books, DVDs and other things but please, put them back in their original place after using them. I am very conservative with water and energy so be kind to nature when using them. When using the jacuzzi, use the outdoor shower first.
