Description

Situated on the outskirts and in view of the ancient village of Bourg-sur-Gironde 33710, twenty-five minutes from Bordeaux and just an hour from the Atlantic coast, this 80m2 fully equipped loft looks out over organic orchards and parkland, all 30 hectares entirely accessible on foot.

The flat consists of the huge main room - the loft - plus a bureau and two other bedrooms on the same storey. Our immense walnut groves stretch right to the Dordogne river. Vines,organic market gardening and young plantations (such as fiig trees, hazlenuts ,chestnuts) surround the ancient historic buildings (only the ruins of the most ancient walls remain). If you choose to stray in any of our extensive orchards, we require you to close the gates behind you please because there's also, further away, a small herd of gentle sheep.

This property - '"Far from the Madding Crowd" - has no noisy neighbours, no traffic...

The flat itself , with four wide windows and skylights,has a modern kitchen with two ovens, while its central island includes other cooking facilities plus the dishwasher and so on. There's a sofa, a double bed (160 cm with full bedding), an attractive Italian shower room, full climatisation, while the upstairs entrance room, with its bureau Napoléon, computer, full internet wifi access etc. looks out over the distant Dordogne river. There are two attractive bedrooms, one with a 1,60m double bed, the other with a single bed. All's centrally heated,both gas & electricity.

The flat is particularly suitable for guests with an interest in the region, the Bordeaux area, Arcachon or beyond, nature lovers, bicyclists, and those who like a spot of peace and quiet.Pets are of course most welcome.

Getting around

Some guests just get around on bikes but a car's best. (There is a bus at the end of the road too ( Blaye - Bordeaux.) The railway station in Saint André de Cubzac is ten minutes away, with free parking.

Having greeted you and made sure you have everything you require I tend to just leave you to your activities but I am available on the farm and easy to find or you can phone me or send me a message andI will be right there. You can always approach me for information or ideas and I'll be most happy to be helpfull, but I wont be running after you...
