“Perfect - if you like the smell of sewage”
There isnt much to do in Riberac itself. There are two pools (but we didn't get to these to see), there are not many shops and limited options for food with most places serving pizzas and burgers. However, on the day we left, we did head over to the beach at the lake (about 15mins drive away) and this was great. You can hire kayaks for free and there are lifeguards around, perfect for taking the family for the day. Friday morning in Riberac is market day and definitely worth a visit if you enjoy the markets. The holiday rental however, sadly did not meet our expectations, We weren't expecting anything fancy, we were expecting basic. I am not one to normally write negative reviews, but people need to be aware of what the place is like. The only windows in the apartment to be sky windows so you have no view out of the apartment and door had to be accessed from the outside while standing on a steep winding staircase (not good if you aren't great with stairs). The place was not very clean, we found hairs on the pillows, dust everywhere and the place was generally a mismatch of items with no complete sets of plates or cutlery (no way could 4 people stay here!) The air conditioning unit leaked, so we had to keep emptying the bucket. The toilet has the pipe coming out of the back, but that goes no where so every time the toilet is flushed, the apartment ends up with the smell of sewage. It was a case of flushing toilet and quickly shutting the bathroom door to try and minimise the smell. Of course it couldn't really be that minimised as there is no ventilation in the bathroom at all. Very unimpressed and would not recommend this place!

Response from the owner Thank you for your review. I am sorry the apartment did not meet your expectations but I have had many guests on Booking who have enjoyed staying and have returned. The toilet has absolutely no problem with it and I am at a loss to understand your comments. Apart from the noise the other tenants had to endure during your stay and the fact the apartment was left in a mess. I think no further comment needs to be made.
