Description
Formerly the "Hotel de La Paix" in the beautiful riverine village of La Trimouille in country France - "Le Logis Alexandra" has been totally renovated into a charming "Maison de Groupe Séjour" - ideal for large groups of around 30 persons.
From the hotel's original 18 bedrooms we have created three family suites ( a total of 7 rooms), and 5 ensuite bedrooms - a total of 12 bedrooms, 9 full bathrooms, an additional toilet for our 4 person family bedroom and a handicapped bathroom on the ground floor with toilet and wash basin.
All of the accommodation is located on the 1st and 2nd floors - the staircase to the 1st floor is wide with a gentle gradient but the staircase to the 2nd floor is much narrower with a sharper gradient .
We have extensive social and entertainment areas - living room (50m2), dining room (45m2), and kitchen (42m2)....all on the ground floor.
Outdoors is a walled courtyard of 42m2 with seating and two BBQ's - a traditional charcoal fired barbecue and a much larger gas-fuelled type.
Above is a 56m2 walled terrace - also with seating
Broadband wifi (free) is throughout the hotel and TV is available in the living room, all of the family suites and the standard bedrooms on the 2nd floor; central heating is a mixture of fuel fired and electric with a 18 kph wood burning stove in the living room.
Parking is available on the roadside directly in front of Le Logis or at either of the two parking areas - the Place de l'Eglise (which you would enter just before you arrive at Le Logis) or the Place de la Mairie which is just a little further past Le Logis Alexandra.
We are located directly behind the Mairie - a couple of seconds walk to the village square where we have two bars (one of which is a Bistro/Restaurant) - both with billiard facilities, a Hair Dresser and Post Office.
Opposite the church is a Cinema and a Medical Cabinet while just a couple of minute's walk towards the river you will find a Bakery/Patisserie with Tearooms, Bank, Designer Boutique, Stationers and Pharmacy.
On the river's edge (just a 3 minutes walk from Le Logis) is our well stocked Grocery/ Delicatessen (Panier Sympa) and an Electric Car Charging Station while across the bridge are the Tennis Courts and of course a pitch for Pétanque.
Our closest town - Montmorillon - is just ten minutes drive away with Leclerc, Super U, Lidl and Aldi.
Market days are:
Montmorillon & St.Savin - every Wednesday morning
Le Blanc - Wednesdays & Saturdays 08.00H-13.00H
Chauvigny - every Saturday until 13:00H
For walkers and cyclists there are well marked paths and trails throughout the commune.
Within fifteen minutes (by car) you can see 10th century frescos, a Unesco World Heritage Site, Romanesque Abbeys, Chateaux, incredibly picturesque Medieval Villages, Bio farms, Open-air Food Markets, Fêtes and Exhibitions.
This is Country France - where life continues in much the same way as it did over the past centuries.
Quiet, gentle, unhurried and safe; where the air is clean, the produce fresh, the traditions time-honoured - a rural region still with unspoiled places to explore and remarkable sights to see.
