Description from owner

Description

Behind the original facade of this old building, lies a fabulous contemporary interior. Unlived in for over 40 years the property has been transformed and lovingly renovated to a high standard. Being an Interior Designer, every detail has been considered, mixing old with new, and retaining original features to provide a warm , light and very French atmosphere. In this beautifully restored part of a winemakers home we offer luxury accommodation with a secluded terrace .

La Petite Maison is situated just off the village square in the small hamlet of Paguignan in the Minervois wine Region. The quiet hamlet of Paguignan nestles in the foot hills of the Montagne Noire and just 35kms from the Mediterranean. Just 2 minutes from the front door you are among the vineyards or in the garrigue. A paradise for painter, walkers ( and strollers ). The Cathar village of Minerve, which sits perched on a rock between two deep gorges, is just 15 minutes away and the Canal du Midi , which offers boat trips, boat hire, walks and restaurants is just 20 minutes away.

Further details indoors

La Petite Maison opens onto a picturesque and secluded square in the heart of the hamlet. This little house ( but not so little ) has a traditional French feel with many original features and decorated in a contemporary French country style.

The accommodation is on 3 floors. The entrance opens into a large vestibule from which opens bedroom 1 with double bed and its own en suite shower, wc and wash basin. A wooden staircase takes you up to the first floor into the light kitchen/dining area with wooden floor and traditional French window and balustrade overlooking the square. From here original double doors open into bedroom 2 with single beds and which also has its own en suite shower, wc and wash basin.

The wooden staircase continues up to the second floor opening into a very spacious and light living area, with sloping ceilings and white washed timber floor. Here a large glazed screen looks out onto a totally private roof terrace for eating and enjoying the sun.

Further details outdoors

The terrace, which opens directly off the living area, is equipped with dining table and chairs and 2 deck chairs for relaxing. The terrace is part shaded which is essential when the weather is hot.

There are 2 adult bicycles for use.

The house is located close to the main village square where there is ample parking
