Description

Our home is perfect for friends and families - 3 good sized bedrooms with a newly built roof terrace and games room (released for 2021 season). There's also much to do around our quaint country village - walking in the Black mountains with trails starting right behind our village; cycling to and along the nearby famous Canal du Midi; horse-riding; visiting the beach or Lake du Jourre, with beautiful scenery and 3 wineries in our village within walking distance! Unlimited free high speed wifi.

The village is very traditional and the neighbours are very friendly and welcoming. We absolutely love this part of France and you are sure to see why we just had to buy a house in this fantastic part of the world.

As you enter the hallway of the house, the kitchen is to your right and the open-plan dining-room / lounge is to your left. The kitchen is well equipped with cooker, fridge freezer, microwave, breakfast area and a washing machine. Everything you need for a great holiday!

The spacious open-plan dining-room / lounge has plenty of comfortable seating and a double sofa bed. The large dining-room table seats 6-8 people comfortably. There is plenty of room for wining & dining together and is perfect for entertaining. The wifi router is located in the lounge but is visible throughout the property.

On the ground floor there is also a toilet with washbasin and W.C. One shower room is situated on the ground floor making the accommodation suitable for people with reduced mobility.

Stairs lead to the first floor with 2 double bedrooms, and 1 twin bedroom – 2 of the rooms have built-in cupboards. The first floor landing also leads to a large washroom with a newly installed shower, WC, and wash basin.

Stairs lead to the 2nd floor, where a stunning new roof sun terrasse has been created, with an adjoining games room, suitable for children of all ages.

In addition to the stunning roof terrasse, the garden has a private and enclosed BBQ / sunbathing area which has recently been decked and backs onto the L'Ognon Rivulet. All BBQ facilities and equipment are located in a shed at the garden.

Getting around

A car is pretty essential for travel although there is a regular bus service to Carcassonne from the town square, which is to the back of the house.

Interaction with guest

The key is available for collection from a key safe at the front door. Our agent is available for emergencies or you can’t contact me directly if you have any queries during your stay. Our immediate neighbour is also very friendly and on hand to provide advice on things to do in the area.

“A nice place to stay for a wek.”

We wanted to do some walking in this area and choose the house for its price and closeness to Carcassonne.airport. The pictures we had seen of the house made it easy to find once we arrived in Felines.The French lady who looks after the house lives right next door and made us very welcome on our arrival.We had a hire car which we parked around the corner next to the church in the village square. We soon felt at home here and the local shop sells all you could need,plus the kitchen already had quite a few items left by the previous renters. The garden is just around the corner and we used it every night for sundowners and BBQ's. The people in the village were pleasant to us and and I was soon saying my Bonjours.. The village was quiet and had none of the parking problems that have worried me on other holidays...All in all a nice holiday and a pleasant house... Many thanks to Andrew..
