Description

The property is attached to a 200 year old long house with its own private entrance, with ample parking, and its own covered out door eating area with views to the large lawned gardens and tranquil country side. Owners are on site to assist

We are close to the towns of both Bressuire and medieval Parthenay ,a flat cycle track links the two towns plus there is a VTT track that runs around our village for those who like nature walks and mountain bike rides. There are also numerous fishing lakes close by.

“The most welcoming and well equipped place we have stayed at.”

Dave and Olive couldn't have been more welcoming. The gite was well equipped and in a well kept, tranquil setting. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Poirre.

“A REAL ' ESCAPE ' TO THE COUNTRY”

This gite is a real GEM of a place to stay. It is spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything that you could want for a peaceful break in the French countryside without having to give up on any luxuries, BUT, what makes it EXTRA SPECIAL is the VERY warm welcome you receive from the owners, ,David & Olive. We arrived at 7.30 as strangers and felt like friends by 7.31. They are so helpful and are always on hand if you have any queries or need anything. We had only intended to stay for a few nights but ended up staying for the week and we still found it difficult to leave. I REALLY hope that we will have the opportunity to return---soon.

“Another fabulous holiday!!”

We have stayed in Le Poirie before, and always had a wonderful holiday. Our hosts David & Olive are always available for any help needed, and are very knowledgable on places to visit etc. The gite is lovely, and equipped with everything you need for your stay, in a lovely rural setting. There are lots of places nearby to visit, Parthenay is a lovely town with an interesting medieval quarter, also Zoo de Doue is excellent. I have no hesitation in recommending Le Poirie for a lovely relaxing stay, we will be back for another holiday without a doubt!!

“Fantastic Gite Fantastic Hosts”

Amazing Gite in a lovely quiet country location - Dave and Olive are fantastic hosts not over powering but always reassuringly close for help & advise. Gite was immaculatley clean with obviously a great deal of thought taken into its preparation for guests. Looking forward to returning for a longer stay next year !!!

“Traditional gite situated in the peaceful French countryside”

Lovely drive within the rolling hills with its golden fields touring through picturesque villages brings you to LePoirie, a beautifully renovated Longere set in open grounds set aside from a small hamlet. Friendly welcoming hosts are on hand should you wish to desire an insight into French country living. A great location to explore the countryside for a potential property purchase and just over an hour to La Rochelle, the Vendee beaches and the tourist spots of Futuroscope and Puy du Fou. A nice quality gite.
