Description

Our Barn is a perfect place to get together with friends and family as there is so much space and the scenery is breathtaking.

Howgills Barn is set up a winding lane but is only a few minute's walk from the independent cafes and shops in town.

There are lots of things for the family/friends to see and do (if you want to!!), and we also work in partnership with adventure companies to organise activities for you at the barn.

Our accommodation is close to the beautiful market towns of Kendal and Kirkby Lonsdale and approximately a half-hour drive from the Lake District.

Our accommodation offers:

- 8 en-suite bedrooms, sleeping up to 35 guests (bedding and towels are included in our prices).

- Large lounge.

- 2 kitchens.

- Upstairs lounge/TV room.

- Games room.

- Outside games field.

- Drying room.

- Hot tub (the use of our Hot Tub is included in our prices).

- 'tractor shed' lecture theatre with a difference!

Getting around

On foot, by bus or by car. Main West Coast railway stops off at Oxenholme / the Lake District 9 miles away - a short taxi ride.

Interaction with guest

We are here to provide you with much assistance or privacy as you wish. We normally meet each group in person and show them around the barn and our facilities (induction upon arrival is provided). We are then on call by phone should you require any assistance, but we really like to leave guests to enjoy the space in peace and quiet! There are lots of things to see and do in the area or we can organise activities onsite, such as archery, bush-craft, pamper sessions, etc.

“Amazing facilities, great location”

The barn was perfect for a large group stay. The facilities give loads of space and plenty to do, and the hottub, fire pit, sports pitch and spacious lounge are all really good additions. The location allows for quick and easy access to the heart of the Yorkshire Dales meaning there is plenty of exploring to be done!

We do say in our travel email that we send to the 'lead guest' that the lane is narrow and also about our traffic lights. We even have a google map, where you can 'virtually drive' up our lane to see it - so people know what to expect when they arrive. Unfortunately we only have the lead guest's email and if they do not pass this information on - we have no way of letting the other guests know. A challenge for us, perhaps, to think about. “One of the best place to stay”

We visited Howgills Barn for the first time. We were a group of 22 people. We all were very impressed with the facilities available in Howgills barn. All the 8 bedrooms were spacious, ensuite and very clean. The kitchen had everything which was essential during the stay for the guest especially if you like to cooks and eat some freshly cooked food sitting all together. The surrounding areas are also very beautiful especially the hills around which is very scenic, I would recommend this place to everyone mainly people in large groups because of the facilities available in the barn, I will definitely like to visit again and spend some more days as the place is very quite and peaceful. I thank Mr. Nigel (Owner) for arranging everything for us and for your good service.
