Description

Combel is a beautiful spacious two bedroom French house situated between the Dordogne and Lot rivers in the Causse Natural Park. Set in its own grounds with a swimming pool, it is completely private and not shared with any other guests. The perfect place to relax and get away from it all.

We are new to Tripadvisor but have been open since last July and have just gained 'super host' status with another rental agent. Our aim is to make your holiday at Combel as enjoyable as possible with the comforts of home.

The house has a well equipped kitchen, a laundry room, dining and lounge areas. We can sleep up to 6 people and a baby, there are two bedrooms, both with large fitted wardrobes, one has a double bed and the other allows you to choose between two full size single beds or a super king size bed. Also depending on requirements we have a double sofa bed in the lounge area or there is a single size ' put you up bed' for an extra guest which can be in the twin room or wheeled into the lounge area at night. There is the use of a cot but please note I do not supply bedding, I have found that parents prefer to bring their personal baby bedding. There is a separate toilet. The bathroom has a massage shower and double hand basins. Bed linen, bathroom towels and tea towels are included in the price. (cot bedding and pool towels are not included)

Combel is set in approximately 1.5 acres of land, with views over the local countryside. There is a terraced and graveled area behind the villa which has a shady eating area under the gazebo, an electric sun shade and a BBQ. This area is fenced and has lockable gates which make it ideal and safe for younger children, it is also an ideal place for a game of boules. Beyond this area is the pool which has an 'enclosure' type cover. The cover helps heat the pool extending the swimming season from about May to October. The enclosure also acts as a safety cover when not in use, this can easily be rolled back out of the way but in cooler times you can just open the end panel and enjoy a swim beneath.

Combel is one level and suitable for elderly or infirm. Children are very welcome. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the property but smokers are welcome providing they only smoke outdoors. Pets are not allowed.

Labastide Murat is a short drive away and has many amenities including a well stocked supermarket, butcher, excellent baker, bar, restaurant and Tourist office.

Combel is situated in the Causse natural park, it is perfectly placed for walking, bike riding and the range of many sporting activities on offer to suit every taste.

There are many places to explore and things to do in the area. Visit Cahors with its deep red wine and medieval bridge, the stunning cliff top village of Rocamadour or St Cirq Lapopie, known to be one of the most beautiful villages in France. See the wonders of Gouffre de Padirac and Pech Merle or canoe down the magnificent Dordogne river. These are just a taste of what the Lot has to offer.

Getting around

The Lot is beautiful and there are many things to see and do but you do need to have a car to be able to explore.

Interaction with guest

We live about 20 minutes away from Combel, we are always on hand should you need help, advice or information about the area. We respect our guests privacy at all times but in order to make sure all is well we will need to come and check the pool and gardens each week. We usually try to do this Wednesdays and Saturdays but we will always agree this with guests beforehand.
