Description
The historical centre of Poggio Mirteto in the province of Rieti, Italy dates to the 14thC and is set on the edge of the Sabina Mountians. It is a perfect base to access and explore Rome, Assisi, Orvieto & Leonardo Da Vinci Airport (Fumichino) each within 90min. ALL amenities are at your doorstep in this vibrant and friendly town. The Flat with the Purple Door is the charming entrance to the 3 story modernized flat with original features. A marble staircase leads to the spacious master ensuite with Juliette balcony & ample closets. On the main level is the living room, half bath & kitchen which leads to the cantina for cozier meals. Exit onto the the all season terrace to eat, relax with a bird's eye view of all that is happening in the Piazza Martiri della Liberta. The decor is unique - for over 100 years many families of Poggio have lived in Malawi, Africa (Nyasaland) The featured artworks and memorabilia have been collected over decades.

Response from the owner Thank you for your compliments. The piazza is lively, and sometimes noisy particularly when summer arrives. Remember to have a "reposino" in the afternoon to keep up with the fun and late night dining.

Response from the owner So glad you enjoyed time in Poggio Mirteto. I would recommend an overnight to Rome. take in a concert, wander in one of the famous piazzas til the wee hours of the morning then come "home" for a rest before your next adventure to Orvieto or Assisi perhaps.
