Description

The Central lodging is a charming cottage, 15 km from the city of Carcassonne, a World Heritage Site by Unesco and located in the wonderful village of the book and graphic arts of Montolieu. The apartment is on the 1st and 2nd floor of our bookstore "Central" in the center of the village. Quiet and bright you will sleep in the middle of the books! The kitchen of the 1st is shared with us, the hours of the bookstore (from 10h to 18h30), knowing that we do not cook there, sometimes a salad, a tea or a coffee or looking for a book in our stocks. We are discreet and promote the well being of our guests.

Getting around

The area is so beautiful that a car is preferable. Otherwise, we can pick you up at the station or Carcassonne airport.

It is with pleasure that we assist you during your stay! We are present during the day in the bookstore located on the ground floor and distributed on 3 levels and are happy to be able to tell you places to swim, beautiful walks and cool restaurants to start with the one right next to the cottage!

House rules

This is the cottage on the floor of our bookstore. A place rocked by stories and characters printed on a thousand pages and that will delight your eyes and your thirst for reading and knowing! Your apartment is on the 2nd floor, quiet. You will cross our library to go upstairs arriving directly in the kitchen shared with us, knowing that we will leave you alone during the day (only rare appearances to make tea or coffee) and look for a book! “WARNING!”

Nearby attractions are depicted in the pictures but the property is in question. We were misled as to the accommodations. We expected a castle view within the big house but were put up in a tiny room (previous stable?) in the "garden." Early season , so the rain had leaked through the roof leaving dampness on the beds, musty smells and no screens on the windows. The pool was shut down and no covered porch was available. No access to the house or lounge rooms was available. Breakfast was 9am sharp no exceptions. Very restrictive and hard to locate. When we returned to discuss the situation the owner had left the property for the evening. She requested cash as she had no credit card machine to process. We left cash payment with a letter for the evening although we did not stay a single night and she claimed it was not seen (her child was left in charge). Then she processed the entire amount for 3 weeks through a credit card. Legal action and investigation is in process for falsifying the let.

Response from the owner J’avoue être très surprise, choquée mais en même temps amusée, par ce commentaire totalement inapproprié de cette dame délirante puisqu’elle se trompe d’endroit vraisemblablement !!!!! Aucun de ses avis très négatifs ne correspondent à la réalité, il semblerait qu’elle confonde d’endroit ce qui est grave et pourrait nous porter préjudice !!!! Je ne me fais aucun souci sur cette grossière erreur puisque notre appartement de charme se situe sur notre librairie. Spacieux lumineux et surtout au sec il incite nos hôtes à la détente, la rêverie et la lecture !!! Apparemment tout le contraire de ce que cette étrange personne décrit !! PS : pour couronner le tout nous possédons un terminal de carte bancaire et ne faisons que très peu de cash ! Surtout que nos réservations passent par des centrales de réservation où les clients payent à l’avance ! Je compte vivement rectifier la réalité des faits et en accueillant toujours avec plaisir les hôtes du monde entier !
