Description

Shannelton House is located in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside approximately 6 miles from Banff in north-east Scotland. Our accommodation is a converted steading which comprises of 3 self contained holiday apartments.

All our apartments are a "home-from-home" and kitchens equipped with everything you need along with separate bedrooms and bathrooms.

You can also enjoy a movie in our cinema room, work out in the gym or work up a sweat in the sauna.

Our Findlater and Delgatie apartments have 1 bedroom with a king size bed, shower room, and a combined kitchen/sitting/dining room.

Our Tarlair apartment is a studio with a king bed, kitchen and separate shower room. It also has a conservatory and private garden/decking area.

If you looking for a short break or something longer term then we would love to welcome you to Shannelton House.

Getting around

You will need a car to explore the area as we are not on a public transport link. Banff is approximately 6 miles away. There is easy access via the bus routes from Banff to Aberdeen and Inverness or further afield if you desire. There is a train station in Huntly, approx. 20 mins away. We do have various bicycles that guests (big and small) are more than welcome to use during their stay. Car parking is available on site

As we live next to the apartments, we are on hand should you need any help or advice. We love meeting new people and will only be too pleased to let you know about this beautiful area that we live in. Whatever you need during your stay we will do our best to accommodate you.

“Bliss”

Great base to explore Moray and Aberdeenshire. Hosts are on site, friendly and helpful. This is our second year at this accommodation.

“A gem of a place !”

This is the perfect place if you want to get from it all. The lodge was immaculate and beautifully presented . We were spoiled with lots of little extras on arrival - a basket full of little cereal boxes , a loaf of bread , fresh eggs from their own hens , milk, butter, hot chocolate , biscuits , tea, coffee etc. The bathroom was stocked up too plus they provided slippers for us to keep . Such lovely touches ! My husband used the sauna, and we all used the gym and the cinema room! That was probably my favourite room as we all sat together and just chilled and no interruptions like you get at home! There are two couches and two bean bags and lots of films to choose from. Just perfect . My husband and son borrowed some bikes from the owners and went for a wee cycle around . Unfortunately there was not a bike that would fit my daughter (age 9 but she is quite small for her age). The location is stunning and it made a great base to visit lots of surrounding villages and towns . It is so picturesque. If you are looking for peace and quiet and a slower pace of life for a few days then this is the perfect place . It was worth the 4 - 5 hour drive to get there! Scott and Sandie are lovely and so welcoming and we were able to collect our own fresh eggs on our last day . All these lovely touches made it the perfect getaway . It is a real gem of a place :)

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If Scott (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
