Description

Craigmore East is on the seafront in Machrihanish, 50 metres from the waters edge with stunning views to Islay, Gigha & Jura. The beach is sand and sheltered. We are only 150 metres from the 1st Tee at Machrihanish Golf Club and within the same distance of The Old Club House--Gastro Pub, Ugadale Hotel, Bar & Restaurant and Machrihanish Club House with Bar & Food. We are 6 miles from Campbeltown & Campbeltown Airport to the East. Half a mile to the West is a bird viewing point & views to Northern Ireland.

Craigmore East was built in late 1890's and is a classic comfortable house with walled garden to the rear, the house was completely refurbished in 2011/12 to a Visit Scotland 4* Standard.

We have excellent Broadband, Sky TV Family in the sitting room with Home Cinema/DVD Player/I-Pod Dock, Smart TV in Kitchen, TV in Bedrooms1,2&3. Golf Clubs can be kept in Porch & a Drying Room is available.

The Kitchen is fully equipped and has a large table area that seats up to 10,

a highchair is provided, and a Mamas & Papas Travel Cot is available. Our housekeeper is available for baby sitting by prior arrangement.

All linen & Towels are provided and will be changed every week if your visit is more than one week.

There is a regular bus service to/from Campbeltown--latest at 1030pm

We will have superfast fibre broadband in the next few weeks.

Getting around

Walk, Cycle, Car or Bus. Campbeltown has all the essentials: Supermarkets, Banks, Doctors, Chemist, Dentist, Hospital etc. We try to keep a good selection of local places of interest brochures and an Ordinance Survey Maps in the house.

Interaction with guest

We will put on heating during colder months prior to your visit & turn on hot water. Our housekeeper lives within 100 metres & can "babysit" with prior arrangement. If you have sporting interests, please let me know prior to arriving and we will put you in contact with the right people.

This is a great house, with a fantastic location, overlooking the beach and right beside a golf course. We were 2 families of 5, and had plenty of space. Everything worked and the house was really clean on arrival. I'd definitely recommend a stay here if you're visiting the area - which is well worth a visit!

“A beautiful holiday home for a family group - highly recommended.”

This is a wonderful holiday home - a spotlessly clean, comfortable and well-equipped house on a quiet road with a beautiful beach on the doorstep and a children's park nearby.The large walled garden at the back is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the sunshine (which we had in abundance!), and Machrihanish is an excellent base for exploring the sites of Kintyre. There's a regular bus service from just across the road into Campbeltown. The only downside was some confusion over booking dates. The Holiday Letting website is out of date re departure dates and times etc., perhaps because of changes necessitated by Covid rules. I recommend making sure you know exactly what you've booked and when you're due to leave, with confirmation of dates in writing.
