The yard and the rooftop terrace are beautiful and they are common with TRADITIONAL Apartment and TRADITIONAL Cave. The two level terrace of the house an ideal place for relaxation.
PERFECT LOCATION FOR YOUR HOLIDAY!
The house is in the heart of Oia. Very close to the center and away from all the hustle and bustle of the main street. It consists of one big room with a double bed, a kitchen area a bathroom that features a shower and a private indoor jaccuzi. The rooftop and outdoor garden are very peaceful and beautiful.
IDEAL FOR SMALL FAMILY OR SMALL GROUP OF FRIENDS!
The house is recommended for a couple, a family or small group of friends. If you want to get away to relax, write and just enjoy the life of Santorini without feeling like a tourist, TRADITIONAL STUDIO is ideal. The house has Wi Fi and AC! It is 20 meters from shops, restaurants and 1-2 minutes walking distance from market, galleries, bus and taxi terminal. It is located in the old city of Oia near the Castle which is the famous ‘Sunset Point’ of Greece! It is 5-10 minutes’ drive from the three beaches that are near Oia.

In the heart of old Oia, this magnificent village carved into the volcanic ashes more than 1,500 years ago, at one minute walking distance from the center and away from all the hustle and bustle of the main street, the Sunset Terrace Cave House offers you the essence of Santorini’s experience: tradition, comfort, relaxation, and the opportunity to witness the world-famous Oia landscape and sunset in the privacy of your own roof garden/terrace.
But what makes the TRADITIONAL APARTMENTS Cave House so special, apart from its location and its unique architecture, is the history woven into its atmosphere, carved into its walls.
In the old times, the people of Oia dug their houses either underground or into the cliffs, to be protected from the harsh winters, the scorching summer sun, the earthquakes and the pirates who dominated the seas. This kind of architecture –truly bioclimatic before the word “bioclimatic” was even invented– makes the village a unique place on the planet! And TRADITIONAL APARTMENTS is one of its original, traditional cave houses, with its rooms arranged around the courtyard, in the traditional way the houses and the palaces were built in antiquity.
TRADITIONAL APARTMENTS were built in 1827, six years after the beginning of the Greek revolution against the Turks. Throughout the duration of the revolution, people fought hard against the Turks and the pirates, and at the same time strived to build a roof over their heads to protect themselves and their families.
With the severe earthquake in 1956, all the houses built above the ground, even those of the richer people, called kapetanospita, collapsed. TRADITIONAL APARTMENTS and other cave houses did not suffer any damage at all! In fact, it was in this very house that its owner, who was then the Mayor of Oia, received Konstantinos Karamanlis, Minister of Public Works at the time and later Prime Minister of Greece, who had come to the island to inspect the very difficult situation after the earthquake. Actually, the meal offered to the Minister that day in this house consisted only of fried eggs. This meager meal shows thee dire condition of the island after the earthquake, and it was served on the very table that still stands in the house’s dining room!
This is the legacy that makes TRADITIONAL APARTMENTS Cave House so special. And for all these reasons, all renovations were made keeping in mind that it has to be preserved exactly as it originally was!
The rate includes:

2)Check in is at 15:00 at the earliest and check out is 11.00
3)A welcome assortment of bottled mineral water, wine, juice and fruits upon arrival
4)Breakfast provisions: honey, butter, marmalade, toasts, sugar, milk, cereal, as well as fruits, yoghurt, tea and 3 kinds of coffee, all packaged in portions following the instructions given by the WHO organization and the Greek Government. Enjoy breakfast on your private terrace with an amazing Caldera view.
5)Maid service daily (April-October), twice a week (Nov-Mar), change sheet every three days, bath and beach towels every two days
6)By showing our Special Privilege Card, you have discounts or free deserts to a few restaurants in Oia & other towns
