Description from owner
Description
This charming fisherman's cottage is well located in the Downalong in old St. Ives. It is characterful, unspoiled and much loved by all who stay there and ideal for families. It is within a minute's walk from Porthgwidden Beach and close to the harbour. The Tate Gallery and Porthmeor beach are also nearby. It has the benefit of parking for one car,and has a garden and patio area with table and chairs so you can sit and admire the view whilst having a drink. The front door opens onto Carncrows Street and the back door onto the garden and back lane for car access. Downstairs there is a Cloakroom with WC and wash hand basin, open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen with beamed ceiling. The sitting room area has 2 large comfortable settees, flat screen TV and DVD. There is also an electric piano so remember to bring your favourite piano music (and headphones if you don't want everyone to listen!). Dining area. Dining table, chairs and dresser. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and good work surfaces with ample cupboards. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with WC, bath and shower. There is also a second (warm) shower outside for washing off the sand when you come back from the beach, and drying rails for your wetsuits.

Lovely cottage, great location, perfect views
Our week at Morning Cottage was great. The cottage is well furnished, has a lovely kitchen which we used to cook our fresh fish and seafood landed at Newlyn. The bedrooms are comfy, especially the top floor with views of the beach and harbour. Sarah the owner was very helpful with recommendations for pubs etc. We'll be back!Fantastic week in St Ives

The only place to book in St Ives!
Having owned property in St Ives, and also been a regular visitor for over 10 years, I think I can speak with some certainty. The four things you want in St Ives from your property are: PARKING by the property CENTRAL LOCATION in Downalong as it is a flat walk everywhere SEA VIEW in this case of two different beaches from the house CLOSE PROXIMITY to the beach. All these are met at Morning Cottage and you can even park TWO CARS at at the house, not somewhere up the road if you are lucky. We also appreciate a traditional house not an apartment with who knows what going on under and over you. So there you have it, the best location possible and everything inside just lovely. Hope I have not shot myself in the foot for future availability!

Cornish delight
Morning Cottage is a delightful and cosy traditional fisherman's cottage, tucked away in a quiet location in St. Ives, with tantalising views to Porthgwidden beach and the island. The town, harbour and beaches are all a short walk away, and the cottage is the ideal base from which to explore. There is parking for two cars and a small garden with wonderful views, and the cottage itself is well equipped and comfortably sleeps 6. The kitchen is light and bright, and the lounge with two large sofas, is is a cosy place to spend the evening. The top bedroom is bright with stunning sea views, and a wonderful lookout place for spotting dolphins! I spend a week in November walking, exploring and visiting galleries, and also found some superb places to eat out. Sarah, the owner made it all easy, and was friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend this charming holiday home.

“Excellent lovely cottage”
Lovely cottage in a perfect location. Ideal for myself, husband, 2 sons and mum. Parking was great as this is limited in St Ives. Couple of minutes stroll to Porthgwidden Beach. Nice and clean on arrival. Sarah the owner was great to deal with. Am booking this cottage again. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here

“The most amazing location, fab cottage - best in St Ives and Parking WOW!!!”
Morning Cottage is in an amazing location about 1 minute walk from the utterly beautiful Porthgwidden beach. You can see the beach from the garden and the sea from the kitchen window which lifts your spirits every time you glance out through the cottage. The cottage is big and spacious and there is loads of room in the living area to relax, it is well equipped with everything you could need plus an organ for extra child delights!! loads of books, puzzles games etc. Plus the bonus of a load of beach stuff to borrow (we used the dinghies and the buckets which were better than ours!). The rooms were all spotlessly clean on our arrival and the kitchen has a lovely light dining area in it (again where you can see the lovely sea from). There is everything you can think of in the kitchen, in fact the whole cottage is very well equipped. One of the best things is the not one but TWO parking spaces - right outside which makes a big difference and is incredibly rare. I found Sarah the owner, to be incredibly helpful and communication with her was excellent from start to finish. You must book this cottage if you are considering it, you will not beat the location - it is stunning and you are nicely a few minutes walk out of the town so can easily escape the crowds in busy season and feel very peaceful and relaxed. Sitting in the beautiful newly landscaped garden sipping prosecco in the sun looking at the sea - what more could you want?

“Lovely views and perfect location”
We stayed at Morning Cottage for a family holiday in August and had a wonderful time! The location was perfect; being very close to the beaches and the busy harbour, whilst being tucked away in a quiet area of town. It was excellent to have parking for our 2 cars, as the car parks get very busy during the summer. The house has everything you would need for a large family, including an outdoor shower (great for coming back from the beach) and a peaceful garden with a patio area (perfect for BBQs). The panoramic views from the top of the house are beautiful, and we loved the cosy and traditional character to the cottage. Would highly recommend this property and the excellent service that we received from owner
