A family friendly holiday home close to beaches and Padstow.

Our beautiful privately owned and well-equipped holiday chalet is in Cornwall, near Padstow and beaches. It is ideal for families and couples on a quiet and well-managed site. The privately owned, large deluxe, timber-style holiday home has been extended and completely refurbished.

We pride ourselves in keeping it pristine , It is also our holiday home.

The chalet is located at Atlantic Bay Holiday Park which is set amidst 27 acres of peaceful parkland. It is a friendly family-run site. There is an outdoor play area. Atlantic Bay Holiday Park is 1 mile from the village of St Merryn which has several restaurants, 2 pubs, a supermarket and an award winning fish and chip shop within 2 miles of beautiful sandy beaches and 3 miles from Padstow, an historic working fishing port on the River Camel estuary. The Cornish Arms is St Merryn is now owned by Rick Stein.

St. Merryn village has a tourism motto "Seven bays for seven days", displayed on the road signs as you enter the village. This refers to the bays & beaches in the vicinity which are (north-east to south-west): Trevone Bay, Harlyn Bay, Mother Ivy's Bay, Booby's Bay and the adjoining Constantine Bay, Treyarnon Bay and Porthcothan Bay.

Please note that bed linen and towels are not included. These can be provided at an additional cost.

Otherwise some guests prefer to bring own bed linen and towels.

It sleeps 4/5 and has a lounge with settee, chairs, with TV, with DVD and radio. The kitchen is fully equipped including built in cooker and hob, washing machine, microwave, kettle, refrigerator, toaster, table and chairs, high chair and ample china and cutlery. Has hairdryer , iron and ironing board. .

One bedroom has a double bed and the other a bunk futon bed which serves as 2 single beds or a double with a single above. Top bunk bed for aged 6 and above. Both bedrooms have wardrobes, chest of drawers and electric heaters plus safe fan to cool room.

The bathroom has a full sized bath with shower, washbasin, WC and hot and cold water. Ample free parking is available close by. Comfortable lounge. Floors laminated throughout kitchen/diner and lounge. Both bedrooms are carpeted.

Patio area with bench outside chalet. There is a bench for 2 with table fixed inbetween. We also have 2 more outdoor chairs, a table and stool stored inside the chalet but also for outdoor use..

There are many restaurants in Padstow including those owned by Rick Stein. Atlantic Bays Holiday Park is ideally located for exploring North Cornwall , the beaches and bays and is only about half an hour by car from the Eden Project.

Getting around

A car is necessary. However from the village of St Merryn there is a very good bus service to Padstow and Newquay, This is very useful if planning to walk the coastal path, Cycles can be hired in Padstow to cycle the Camel trail to Wadebridge and Bodmin. There is a ferry from Padstow to Rock.

“2nd time, just as good.”

This was our 2nd year staying here. Just as good as last year. Perfect was the term we used when Ruth contacted us to see if we were in ok.

“Great holiday home - even better owners”

This was a real diamond of a find. The holiday home was perfect. The location was perfect and Ruth and Barrie the owners were perfect. Clear instructions for entry (which we managed to mess up ). The chalet was brilliant and we felt at home straight away. If the dates of our leave allow, we will definitely book again.

“Chalet in perfect location for exploring Cornwall!”

Stayed in the May half term, family fo four. The chalet is in a great location. Several beaches in 10 min drive. We loved Harlyn Bay, family friendly. You get a map when you arrive at reception with all the beaches and their facilities which is useful. We did a day trip to St Ives, drove to St Erth and caught the train in (amazing coastal views). Padstow harbour is only 8 mins away as well. We did visit the Newquay aquarium on a rainy day, don't bother! It was really expensive and only took about half an hour to walk round! The site itself was really quiet (which suited us) there was some entertainment in the evenings but we didn't see these as they were at 9pm so too late for our little ones. There is a small shop and a bar with a playground! The chalet itself was nice and clean, the kitchen was really well equipped with lots of cleaning products. The only negative were that the double bed was very small with a firm mattress but was still comfortable. The owners were great in communication and we would definitely come to stay again!
