Description

Sahara is within 5 minutes walk of the Porthilly beach at Rock and within walking distance of the local amenities and St Enedoc Golf Club. It has a sunny aspect and is warm and welcoming for family holidays and Cornish getaways being well equipped for large or small numbers (2 freezers, 2 fridges, 2 ovens) and a Sauna. From the house one can walk up across the Golf course and dunes which gives spectacular views of the island and headlands at the mouth of the Camel Estuary and out to the Atlantic. Dogs are allowed on some of the local beaches and dune areas. Comfortable and with sea views from the garden, and West facing bedrooms, it has full central heating and a log burner/open fire for those winter evenings. To enjoy the long summer days there is an outside table with chairs and a BBQ.The house is positioned in a cul de sac off Rock Road and there is ample parking in the drive for 4 or 5 cars boats, etc. The house sleeps 9 in four bedrooms and in addition one of the sofas in the sitting room can be folded out into a double bed. We let on a weekly basis from Friday to Friday. Excludes bed linen and towels which can be rented locally.

Getting around

The most convenient way to get around is by private car. There are also local Taxi companies both on the road and the water (Water Taxi to and from Padstow at night or the Ferry by day). Buses stop at the garage in Rock from Wadebridge and local villages but this is a rural service so not very frequent. The station (Bodmin Parkway) and airport (Newquay) are both 18 miles away. Food can be delivered by all the main supermarkets, bought locally or arrange a take-away. There are also pubs and restaurants in the village - a walk away.

Interaction with guest

I try to meet all guests on arrival but there is a facility for you to arrive and access the house if I'm unable to get there or your arrival time is very late. There are lots of leaflets at the house of things to do and a local OS map on the wall to discuss walking routes and bathing beaches etc. We are available on our phones if you need us and can usually pop round but otherwise we will leave you to enjoy your stay.
