“A wonderful setting for a laid back holiday”

“Perfect Repos”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2016

We stayed at the Cote de la Riviera for 9 days in early Sept 2016, and really enjoyed our stay. The Gite was very impressive and Carolyn has equipped the gite to the very highest of standards, there seems to be 12 of everything. There is UK satellite TV, DVD player etc lounge area and bedrooms are very comfortable. Off street parking makes this property very secure. Although Carolyn lives upstairs after a very warm welcome and comprehensive “welcome pack” we didn’t see her for 5 or 6 days, so you are very much self contained. There is a large Carrafour supermarket 5 minutes drive away on the opposite side of the river. The weather was in the 90’s but the shaded terrace was great and we ventured out onto the terrace when the sun was cooler. The village was only a few minutes walk, handy for a fresh baguette in the morning and there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance. There is a “must do” Sunday market, that has 100’s of stalls, very “local” France. There are many local places of interest to visit; the prehistoric caves at Pech Merle near St Cirq lapopie, and St Cirq itself are a must as well as Cordes and Narjac. Albi is not to far away for the Toulouse Lautrec museum. The Cahors vineyards are 45 minutes to the north and the Gaillac vineyards are local. Further afield you can visit Carcassonne, to the south and Rocamadour, Gouffre de Padirac grotto are well worth visits. Overall an excellent gite and lovely part of France, Carolyn is the consummate host and on hand for assistance if required – I would wholehearted recommend a stay.
