Description

Villa Bougainville is a high end private residence located in the most exclusive residential part of Sanur, nestled between Foreign Consular residences and established private properties. The neighbourhood is home to an eclectic Balinese and International community. The villa is just a few minutes’ walk or bicycle ride from beautiful Sanur beach and the five star resorts and only 20 minutes from the new International airport. Villa Bougainville is set on a large 1600 SqM plot with 800 SqM private space (Villas in Sanur tend to be very small, typically 200SqM, due to high land prices), surrounded by mature tropical gardens. The two-storey villa has three double air-conditioned bedrooms with indoor/outdoor en suite bathrooms and can accommodate up to a maximum of 6 guests. It is equipped with a modern Western-style air-conditioned kitchen and outdoor living and dining areas with fans. Villa Bougainville is built in the traditional Balinese style with grass roofing and contains many fine antiques, including a collection of rare Balinese carved wooden doors.

Villa Bougainville is set amidst mature tropical landscaped gardens and has shared access with one sister Villa to a large (15 meter X 4 meter) lap pool with two traditional “Bale bengong” cushioned pavilions and additional sun loungers for day lounging, relaxing and afternoon snoozing. Subject to the status of bookings for the other Villa, exclusive use of the pool and grounds can be negotiated. For larger groups of up to 12, the sister Villa can be booked. It is also listed on TA as Villa Alamanda.

There are many shops and restaurants located within a few minutes’ walk. Sanur beach itself uniquely has a wonderful 7Km long beach pathway for walking, jogging and cycling and running the entire length of Sanur beach through the beachfront grounds of the 5-star hotels with many small shops, bars and restaurants along the way. Sanur beach has a large range of water sports to offer and is home the best location in Bali for Kiteboarding.

Just 20 minutes from the new Bali International Airport, Villa Bougainville is a spacious villa set on a large plot of mature gardens of lawns, tropical plants, coconut trees and ponds, making for a comfortable and relaxing stay. There is also 24 hour Gardener and Security.

Airport Transfers can be arranged at additional charge. Car/Motorbike and bicycle rentals are all available close by. Other services can be provided on demand at additional charge (Bali tours, diving etc)

There is a Digital Safebox in Master Bedroom, High Speed FibreOptic Wi-Fi Internet access, Cable TV with DVD Player with a selection of current movie titles and speakers for connection via Jack or Bluetooth to Smart Phone.

Number of Guests

The number of guests may not exceed the numbers confirmed in the booking confirmation and cannot exceed two persons per each bedroom for a total of six persons in the Villa. That said, many guests book the Villa for its comfort and space and the average number of guests per booking is 2.5.

Check in/Check out

Check in time is 2pm and Check out time is 11AM. Late Check out or Early Check in MAY be possible subject to availability. It must be arranged in advance and confirmed in writing.

Utilities and Subscriptions

Although generally reliable, Indonesia is an Emerging Country and we cannot be held responsible for any interruptions to the supply of utilities and other subscriptions such as Cable TV and Internet. However, we will assist to the extent possible to resolve such problems as soon as possible.

Getting around

Most facilities that guests generally require (The beach, a large selection of restaurants, mini-markets etc.) are within easy walking distance of the Villa. Bicycles can be rented locally. For exploring the Island, low cost car rentals are available close by (Details are in the Guest Binder in the Villa and we are always available for local knowledge) and there is secure covered off-street parking available.

Interaction with guest

It is our aim to interact with our guests throughout. Starting with contact several weeks ahead of arrival providing pre-checkin information and detailed directions to the property. Unusually, we provide at this point a Mobile phone number where we can be contacted throughout the stay if any problems. We have backup arrangements in place for common problems in Bali such as internet connectivity. We contact guests in person during the stay to ensure all is OK but we do so whilst being respectful of the privacy of guests and never intrude upon such. We stay in contact with guests after departure and are always wanting suggestions for improvements either to the Villa itself or in other things which might add to the guest experience

As you know, most Villas in Sanur are a quaret of the size and don't have a real "swimming" pool. We enjoyed having you, Ben and the girls with us and are pleased that you enjoyed your extended stay.with us. Your solution to keeping young children away from the pool was very creative and we have noted it for future use!! With the congestion and pollution in Jakarta, it made infinite sense for Ben to commute weekly to Jakarta for his work assignment, leaving you and the children to enjoy a more relaxed and less polluted Bali. We are always happy when guests appreciate the Balinese authenticity and architectural integrity of the Villa and thank you for your patience with the quirks of bringing outdoors indoors living. Sorry for the issue you raised which is, of course, beyond our control and have not bothered other guests previously. There might, perhaps have been exceptional circumstances during your stay. The location is right in the heart of the most exclusive residential area of Sanur and so extremely valuable. It is therefore extremely safe and convenient for access to all the facilities you reference. Sanur, especially compared to the other side of the Island (Kuta, Legian, Seminyak) is an oasis of tranquility and we don't have the traffic problems that exist over there. In general, traffic in Sanur is light and is only around during daylight hours and stops quite early at night because Sanur is more of a residential and family destination, not a late night party place. Incidentally, we have addressed the issue you raised about lighting in the dining area. Spot lamps were not possible because wherever we placed them, would have right into someon's eyes at the table; so we installed a standing lamp which throws light up to the roof and then back down, so it is not shining directly into anyone's eyes.
