Description
Our house is a two-storeyed town house in the little village Sanxay, thirty kilometres west of Poitiers in southwestern France, situated on the riverside of the small river "La Vonne". There is also a third floor which consists of a big loft with two single beds and a separate toilet. Altogether the house has 250 square meters.
There is a charming outdoor space by the river of some 85 square meters with a BBQ.
There are lots of interesting places to visit in the neighbourhood. There is a Gallo-Roman site just outside the village from the first four centuries A C. And a few kilometres away you find the Tumulus of Bougon built about 7 000 years ago.
Just a few kilometres north of Poitiers the fascinating future park Futuroscope is situated. You'll probably need all day for the whole family to enjoy every aspect of this venue.
If you are interested in wine, our house is situated in between Loire and Bordeaux, two of the most exciting French wine areas. And on the road to Bordeaux you will pass Cognac as well!
There is a Golf course with 27 holes a couple of kilometres from our house, open the year around.
In July and August the big swimming pool 150 meters from our house is open. But you can also take an hours drive to the Atlantic coast where you find nice beaches around the delightful town La Rochelle.
There are lots of animal parks available at relatively short distance, the most interesting of which is probably "La Vallée des Signes" (The Valley of the Monkeys),
