Description
Lovely Location. Moelwyn Cottage is a cosy Welsh miner's cottage in the heart of Snowdonia with lots of character, in an area that offers some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in England and Wales. The cottage has been completely renovated to a very high standard to provide a lovely open plan living space whilst preserving its original character features including exposed stonework, beams and inglenook fireplace. It is situated overlooking the stream on the very edge of the village in a very quiet location with no passing traffic, with lovely views to the front and in the lee of the dramatic Moelwyn mountains. The enclosed front garden is a sun trap, enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine on our wooden companion seat. Or sit over the lane on the communal green space directly beside the stream.
There are fabulous walks straight from the door and so much to do in the local area including mountain biking and zip wire activities. Tanygrisiau lake, lakeside cafe and the station for the renowned narrow gauge Ffestiniogg steam railway are just 2 minutes walk. There is a pub further up in the village, all day-to-day amenities including supermarket, pubs restaurants and leisure centre with swimming pool are available in nearby Blaenau Ffesiniogg 1.5 miles away.
The cottage is in a very central location for exploring some of the most dramatic scenery within Snowdonia, at the same time being just a short drive from the coast and some of the most beautiful beaches of North Wales.

“Simply Lovely”
We stayed for 3 nights this past weekend and had a lovely stay at the cottage. We enjoy hiking and this was a perfect base camp. Sat just under the slate mines and a short drive from Snowdon, everything you could want for in Snowdonia is within an easy drive. The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We would absolutely recommend it. Julia was easy to contact and very helpful.

“Cosy,quiet,great for exploring”
The cottage was easy to find thanks to sat nav.Arrived late afternoon,milk in fridge,bar of chocolate on table .What more could you need .First of all we lit the log burner.Now really cosy .Great walk around local area by reservoir.Saw the steam train pass by .Dont hesitate book it .

“Wales in rainy August!”
Booking was seamless, communication with the owner excellent both pre and during visit. Location is central to Snowdonia with easy access to all main A roads. Welcome at cottage was lovely and the milk meant we could have a cup of tea and cereal in the morning. Cottage was great. The loss of a star is due to the uncomfortable mattresses and the smell from next doors wild fowl menagerie.
