Description
There is a wonderful calm to the village, interrupted only by the Church bells every half hour!
In summer one can spend all day on the terrace watching swallows darting to and fro, and swooping buzzards.
At other times you can watch the weather unfold before you, sometimes the clouds actually sit below the terrace height. A huge open fire heats the main room on the first floor.

Included in the cost of the let is a light cleaning only, therefore guests are requested to leave the property in the state in which they find it!

The property has most mod cons, including gas hob, oven (electric), refrigerator, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
There is no freezer, nor is there a TV.
But wifi is available included in the letting price, so guests can use multi-media devices.
There is also an electric piano for guest use.
Because the closest car park is a good 200 yards from the property, guests with mobility issues might wish to be prepared. The village is sadly not wheelchair friendly.

The nearest car park to Via di Castello 14 is a walk of about 200 metres along cobbled streets, so it is best to make sure you have wheeled luggage!
The house itself has no garden, but a very large terrace overlooks the valley below. Given that there is a vertical drop of about 20 metres from the terrace, we recommend that the property is NOT suitable where there are young children unsupervised. There is a sports field at the bottom of the village, ideal for ball games and letting off steam.

“Idyllic mountain village retreat with breathtaking views”
We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful but simply furnished stone house in Tereglio, an ancient village perched on a wooded mountain. The terrace is wonderful for relaxing and eating meals al fresco with views across the valley. The kitchen has everything you need for entertaining. The bedrooms are comfortable and decorated in restful muted colours with ensuite bathrooms & excellent showers. There are so many places to visit in the local area including the natural locations where you can swim in the refreshing rivers and hike in the mountains. The nearest town, Bagni di Lucca has a wonderful swimming pool where you can relax and eat at the restaurant. I took my two daughters aged 16 & 7 and they both enjoyed the holiday. We visited the beach and had a day sight-seeing in Florence, travelling by train. We also hired a car from the airport at Pisa which gave us the freedom to explore the surrounding area.

“Amazing medieval hilltop holiday”
This is a fantastic 4 storey house situated in Tereglio, North Tuscany, a medieval village dating back to the 10th century. Not only can you spend hours exploring this extraordinary place which ranges along the crest of a mountain but the walking in the surrounding countryside is spectacular. Wildlife abounds; plants, trees and many species of birds and mammals including a few porcupines! The house itself is very well appointed with everything you need including wifi. It is particularly special to lie in the hammock on the loggia watching the sun go down, or admire the geckos catching moths at dusk. Recommendations; go to the Orrido di Botri and walk in the river, walk to Vitiana, sit in front of a crackling log fire in the winter, visit the Devil's bridge (Ponte della Maddalena) at Bagni di Lucca, listen to the owls hooting in the forest at night. Magical!
