OVERVIEW

Protected Privacy: Ideal for those who seek privacy and tranquility, relax in your own resort-like suite without the crowds and hassle of hotels. Our sunny studio features high ceilings, a full kitchen and a cozy ambiance. During warmer months, enjoy a meal sitting under an umbrella in your private, fenced-in, porcelain tile patio. Couples, solo adventurers, LGBT and business travelers will find a home away from home.

ACCESS

Your first floor studio has no second floor above it, and no basement below it. There are no stairs. From the street where you park, it is a 100-foot walk along a concrete walkway to reach your studio.

Your space is a completely private studio that is separate from the rest of our home. There is no access to your personal living quarters from the main part of our home. There is only one entrance to your studio through a walkway on the side of the house. The studio, which includes a fully equipped kitchen, large closet and private full bathroom, is in a secluded corner of the property, and there is a private patio in front of the studio

SPECIAL OFFERINGS

* Guests may have access to our pool for an additional fee of $25 per hour from June 20th through August 30th. Access to our gardens, fish pond and saltwater in-ground pool will be only at mutually agreeable times when your host is in on the premises.

Please note that the fee you pay does not provide for unlimited access. Entrance, which is through a locked gate adjacent to your private patio, will be during mutually agreeable days and times.

Once you leave your private patio, you are also likely to meet our dogs, Penelope and Abigail, gentle, friendly golden retrievers. They are not permitted on your patio.

* Towels and linens are exchanged weekly at a mutually agreeable time.

*The patio in front of the studio is for your personal use only. Your patio is completed fenced in by a six-foot tall white fence. During warmer months, a table and chairs, plants and garden accents adorn your patio.

Our home is centrally located near world-class medical centers:  We are 10 miles (15-minute car ride) from Long Island Jewish Medical Center  We are 6 miles (16-minute car ride) from Winthrop University Hospital  We are 4 miles (8-minute car ride) from Mercy Medical Center  We are 11 miles (16-minute car ride) from North Shore University Hospital  We are 5 miles (18-minute car ride) from South Nassau Communities Hospital

I give my guests space but am available when needed. We are available to show guests where shops are located if they need assistance. English and Spanish are spoken. Guided hiking trips: Your host offers shorter local hikes and full-day hiking trips in the NY Metropolitan area. Fee schedule: Local hikes are $15.00 per person. Full day hikes are $45.00 per person. Fee schedule includes travel expenses and guided trail tour. Payments are made in cash.

House rules

Light cooking is fine. We provide utensils and pots for pasta, rice, etc. Frying food indoors is unacceptable and strictly prohibited.
Cable TV and Internet use is 24/7 as long as the volume is kept at a reasonable level after 10:00pm. Use of your private patio is also 24/7 as long as use of patio is quiet after 10:00pm.
Avoid fire hazards: Please keep cloth towels and paper towels away from the stove top. Do not place personal items on the stovetop. Light candles only on the patio.
