“A very comfortable villa, with a terrific pool in a picturesque and peaceful spot.”
Our family (2 adults, 3 children) enjoyed a very special holiday here at the end of July. The owners could not have done more to prepare for our arrival, even waiting up to welcome us well past midnight and providing a generous welcome pack that included breakfast for Day 1. The villa had everything that we needed for our stay including plenty of pool toys and books and the furnishings (inside and out) were above the standard we have come to expect from holiday rentals. The villa, pool, furniture, garden and terrace were perfectly clean and comfortable and the pool was perfect for children and adults alike. We were concerned that we would find the temperatures too high at the end of July but the gorgeous warm wind that blew up the valley every afternoon made for ideal conditions. The local village is quiet but the supermarket has the necessary basics for lunch etc. Further afield (about 10 minutes easy drive away) is the village of St Genis, complete with large supermarket and terrific bakery. We took a few trips out to Argeles and Coillure but the peace and comfort of the villa was very hard to beat. We also drove to a mountain top restaurant recommended by the owners – the food was delicious (no mussels / chips / tourist menu on offer thank goodness!) and it was a very memorable evening as we enjoyed stunning views over France and Spain. I would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday with access to busier spots if you are so inclined. Just don’t book it when we want it next!!
