Description

Inviting, comfortable property located steps from the Harbour (the Quay) in Westport. The Quay area of Westport was once a thriving commercial port and has enjoyed recent revitalization as a major tourism base with its picturesque waterfront and scenic walks along the coastline. Pubs, restaurants, a hotel, shops and galleries now occupy the old coastguard station and warehouse.

This house is located beside a scenic, tree-lined 2.5km (1.5 mls) walking and cycling trail which links the historic Quay with Westport town centre. Your choice of renowned restaurants, pubs, coffee shop, gift shop, an art gallery, a convenience store and supermarket are only a few minutes walk away.

Located in a quiet dead end street just off the main road. The back garden is fully enclosed making it safe for small children. Quiet street, quiet neighbours, but walking distance from the harbour and all it's amenities. Off-street parking.

“Nice house in a good location”

We stayed there in August 2018 with a young child. The accommodation was great, easy to find and in a great location to enjoy the views on the quay and to walk into town. The house was clean, well maintained, warm and with great amenities. We didn't meet Meg in person, however her correspondence via email was good and her niece called in to check on us. They left us some lovely gifts on arrival, which were much appreciated. The house itself was great for a young child. A minor suggestion for improvement would be to change the mattress in down stairs bedroom, it was a little uncomfortable at times

“Cosy harbour location, great for a family holiday”

We had a lovely 5 night stay here - just around the corner from the main Westport Harbour front. Lovely location if you're looking to stay a little away from the hectic town which was about a 20 minute pleasant walk along the greenway. The cottage is simple but well equipped and the owners made us feel very welcome, giving tips on local places to eat and visit. A big plus was the dinky back garden which is really well sheltered from the Atlantic breeze and catches the sun all afternoon. The Harbour itself has a handful of nice eateries with great views across to Croagh Patrick. This is a great value house well worth a visit.
