Studio 001 is tucked away at the northern end of Aventuras Akumal Bay, next to the Be Live Oasis resort complex. A great perk of this property is that it offers guests access to the resort beach club facilities. These include sun loungers, the pool, and the resort beach front. Studio 001 is a well-appointed unit, furnished with good quality finishings. The unit boasts a brand new king sized bed, ocean view sofas, a well-equipped granite countered kitchenette with breakfast bar and flat screen satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet, and an ensuite bathroom with shower and dressing room. A perfect room with a view!
We had a magical week in this newly renovated studio. It is an efficient and beautifully designed space right on a gorgeous beach. We would wake up to the sunrise on the beach and sit in our private patio area for meals and endless hours of lounging in the sun.
We had a great housekeeper and the studio manager was able to resolve any minor issues that we had. You need to be fairly independent to enjoy your stay here, and you should have a car to fend for meals, entertainment etc. It is not a hotel, and that's what we wanted -lots of privacy and relaxation on our own schedule.
the studio is affiliated with a resort hotel but you have very limited access there. the hotel is quite shabby but the pools are ok.
the best thing is to just enjoy your own private oasis at the studio, and use a car to explore the beautiful mayan riviera.Response from Akumal Direct Reservations - 05/31/2012

Great condo in front of the nicest beach. Quiet and private for a couple with your own patio to enjoy breakfast and dinner outdoor. Great to have a Grill to cook outdoor too. Fully equipped kitchen. The beach is the best with no rocks to enter the water and perfect to snorkel in a reef right there.
Bad things: the check in was terrible. No one was expecting us. Poor and wrong info if you arrive at night.The double bed was too small. 1,30 mts wide. If you are big you fall of the bed. There was a condo renovation next door so we listen the construction workers all day. Anyway the place was great and we will go back... the renovation will be over! Great beach!
