      Great location and value

Left on 02/26/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My husband and I were not necessarily looking for the party life when we chose this condo in the centre of party town in Cancun. But while it was fun to have restaurants and nightclubs on our doorstep, we were surprised and happy to find that this condo was quiet and peaceful at night, despite the pounding disco music all night on the street side. The bed was really comfortable and with the aC fan running, we slept great. The best part of the condo for me was the big balcony where we could sit and read out of the sun and yet watch the sparkling ocean, just feet away. It was also really nice that while the waves crash on most parts of Cancun, just a short walk up the shoreline was a breakwater where we could swim. There was a beach club next door where we could rent umbrellas and chairs but we found the balcony just as convenient. There is an in-house masseuse (who isn't allowed to solicit customers on the beach but finds her customers from the hotel sometimes get enticed by the masseuse who sets up in front of the hotel). If you stay here, make sure you seek out Rosa from the hotel - she is a wonderful masseuse and reasonably priced. The condo had everything we needed and was very reasonably priced as well. The landlord was extremely amenable and helpful with my many questions about the area. If you choose to explore or go out to eat, you'll find Cancun and its buses very easy to navigate but there are many many eating and drinking options within walking distance of this condo as well.

Comfortable, beautiful (view and room), clean, and perfect for u

Left on 09/02/2012 for a stay in August 2012

The room is just like in the pictures, and it is comfortable and simple, but well decorated at the same time. Maid service was great, and they do expect you to tip, mainly because its just part of the culture there, and it is rude for people not to tip the maid, no matter how much you pay for the room. If you want really good service, you tip really well. The fridge with the purified water was awesome! The room location was extremely convenient, as that it was right next to the club/downtown mall area. There are a lot of people trying to sell you vacation packages to the various locations, but do not buy from the people right outside the hotel, or so we were warned, because it may sound cheaper, but it is not legit. Also, we were warned not to rent with the alamo car rental. We ended up just using the bus system, and it was not only cheap, but fast and convenient. We spent a good amount of time exploring into downtown cancun, and we went to Xelha, Xcaret, and Isla Mujeres ( all three were absolutely beautiful).

Overall, the location beats everything... and the room itself had a TV and aC. It was awesome, and we had a lovely time! =)

      Good value!

Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012

My one negative is that I might prefer a real couch instead of the settee (could only be used as a twin bed). Also that the bathroom and kitchen could use a bit of an update. They were clean, but if nothing else, a fan in the bathroom would've been awesome. As there weren't any grocery stores close by, it would be nice if (for a fee), staff could purchase grocery items like milk, soda, cheese, eggs, break, etc..

We didn't eat at the hotel's cafe so can't offer imput. Beds were comfortable. Comforters were to die for (if there is one missing, I don't know where it is) - Nothing like a faux down comforter, with soft cotton cover and having the icy air conditioner on...aaah. At first thought the pillows were old and chunky, but I almost wonder if they weren't the buckwheat filled pillows as they turned out to really conform to my head.

One trick we found: The Wi-Fi is only down in the steamy humid lobby, but since the room is over the lobby...ahem, you do the math. The wi-fi also went out a lot, so don't depend on much internet time. We spent 7 days there and it was out for at least 2 of them.

The room has a beautiful balcony overlooking the beach. Easy access through the lobby right onto the lanai and beach. Mostly big chain party restaurants near by. Don't depend on any quaint Mexican restaurants to be within close walking distance. We relied on McD's and Dominoes nearby for sustenance. Mostly Hooters, Chile's (where I think I picked up a stomach bug), and Hard Rock (surprisingly not very good food).

We went in July when most of the party crowd had died down. With the air conditioning going, the room was very quiet. And the beautiful smooth stone tile floors insulated the sound. Of course, you could hear some bass, but it usually stopped around 2am.

There are taxis out front. Bargain with them but I could never get them below $10 minimum to even go a few blocks (since we didn't know where things were at first) .

Overall, I was pleased with the location. Just wish there was easier access to grocery stores other than Oxxo.

Oh, and the stores at the Forum are the cheapest for t-shirts that we could find...even bargaining across the street at Coral Nigral.

Staff was ok...nothing special...they did their job giving me my key

The condo was just as described, very clean and comfortable. The condo was well stocked with blender, coffee makers, toaster oven, lovely purified water dispensing fridge. Staff was great, maid service was very good. Location was perfect if you want to be in the heart of things. Bars, restaurants, mall, all very short walking distance.
The view from the condo was fantastic-beautiful white sand beach and the beautiful blue Caribbean Sea--all just a few steps away.

Perfect getaway, perfect location, perfect price

Left on 01/29/2012 for a stay in January 2012

We stayed here for 10 days and the staff was very friendly. The room was perfect! Right on the beach, literally your backyard is the beach. Beds could've been a little more comfortable but all in all a good room. You have a refridgerator, a microwave, a toaster oven, an in room safe, and they also supplied a hair dryer which saved room in our luggage. They also sell big jugs of water at the front desk which lasted us the whole trip and helped a lot. Monica was the property's cook. Her food is wonderful and priced very reasonable. We ate there most of the time, but the location is surrounded by restaurants if you choose to go out on the town. I definitely will consider this again if we come back to Cancun. And I would definitely recommend this to a friend or stranger.

      Salvia Mz2a is great value.

Left on 01/24/2012 for a stay in January 2012

I just returned from spending nearly 3 weeks in Bomberobills Mz2a condo at the Salvia in Cancun. I have been all over the world and have paid, on occasion, many times over what this condo cost per night. But here's the bottom-line: for an informal beach vacation this is a wonderful place to stay. The Salvia building and Mz2a unit were immaculate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There is small palapa on site where you can get a good breakfast and lunch inexpensively, as well as well-known restaurants next door at The Forum and beach drinks and snacks available from the Beach Club--brought to you on your rented beach chair just steps from the condo.
The condo has a million dollar view of beautiful aquamarine water and Bill, the owner, is very helpful and easy to deal with. One caveat: because of the location next to The Forum you can hear dance music much of the day, and even at night through the bathroom window. After a few days this became background noise to me but it might bother some people most interested in a "quiet" vacation. If so, this probably isn't the condo for you.

Only spent one night on our way home to Canada from Merida. Will definately stay longer next time! Very secure and close to all kinds of amenities, Chili's and Hard Rock Cafe are right next door and beautiful white sands and turquoise water to greet you in the morning :)Extreme value for a lovely, private and quiet condo. Beds were extremely comfy with lots of pillows and pristine, fluffy duvets - and of course the "kissing swan" towels. Thanks Bill, we will definatly see you again!

      Value and location

Left on 08/05/2011 for a stay in July 2011

My husband, mother and I stayed in this studio condo for ten nights in July. The outstanding features of this vacation rental were:
-beachfront location: just steps onto the white sandy beach with gorgeous turquoise water.
-proximity to shopping and entertainment. There were convenience stores, artisan shops, restaurants, ATM, currency exchange, and Internet cafe right outside the condo entrance.
-swimming pool: small but functional and used by many of the guests since the ocean tends to be a little rough.
-poolside cafe: great for snacks, very reasonably priced, family-owned

Features we liked in the condo unit were:
-water cooler base (we purchased a bottle for $5 and it lasted the whole week)
-wall mounted TV with 17 channels
      -countertop oven
      -full size fridge and freezer

The front desk staff and security were excellent and personal. This is a small building and we felt very safe.

We stayed in a unit that was on the Mezzanine. Although the music from the clubs was audible in the hallway, it was greatly diminished once we were in our rooms, and the fan and the a/c provided some white noise that nearly eliminated it. Daytime music could be loud on the beach, but again, we weren't disturbed by it.

This studio unit is best for 2-3 people. There is no dresser or storage space in the sleeping area or bathroom, so you have to be very organized and don't have privacy for your personal items, underwear, etc. Plan on bringing your own handsoap, shampoo, and dish soap. The condo provides very small soaps for the shower--you're better off bringing your own.

We took the bus to downtown for groceries and day trips. While there is parking in front, a car is probably more of a liability than a help unless you are planning to be day tripping daily.

Fyi--this beach is not for snorkeling. The surf is too rough. There is an area on the beach near Hyatt and Dreams (very short walk/swim) that is more protected from the waves, but it didn't have much in the way of fish.

Overall, this condo was a very good price for the beachfront location. I would consider it for future trips.

Had the pleasure of staying at this condo and cannot wait to go back! The location is absolutely fantastic, you are right next to the forum and withing easy walking distance to the clubs and restaurants. The staff was very helpful and the condo was clean and well equipped, a true little gem. Booking and responses from Bill was always timely and helpful. I would recommend booking your tours when you get there, I booked some of my tours from the guy at the front of the condo and he gave me really good prices. The buses run right in front the condo so its easy to hop on and hop off. The only thing I wish I had - more time!!! I was there for 6 days and had an absolute blast. I would really recommend this spot. If you're not into the all-inclusive, taking too much time wandering around a massive resort, want a fabulous location to enjoy your vacation I would recommend here. you won't regret it!

      Great Value

Left on 03/06/2011 for a stay in February 2011

This condo served as a wonderful base for my friend and I to explore and enjoy Cancun and the surrounding area. We spent 4 nights at the Salvia in mid February.

We arrived before the official check in time but the unit was ready so we were checked in within minutes. We found the condo to be clean with basic amenities and the most comfortable bed i've ever experienced in Mexico. The view of the beach and ocean is phenomenal and most days we skipped using the ac and opted for an open door and the constant ocean breeze. If I could change any one thing about this unit it would be to change out the curtains, they are worn and a bit dirty and most importantly they do not block out the sun as it rises in the morning. Otherwise I'd highly reccomend this unit to anyone who is not looking for a posh enviornment with lots of amenties.

The hotel offers beach towels and the reception counter. There is a pool onsite that also appeared to have a bar as well but we did not use either as we were most interested in the beach. Next door to the Salvia is a night club (The City) that offers a beach club with loungers/beach beds, pool, and wait service with food and drinks. The cost is $10 USD and I think that it is a decent value if you are looking for amenities. While we enjoyed the experience we didn't particularly care for the loud and montonous sound track. On our next trip to the beach we discovered that we could rent an umberella and two loungers directly on the waters edge for 50 Pesos, and they offered food and beverage service from The City beach club. We enjoyed the loungers the best as we were closer to the water and we had the opportunitiy to mix with many of the local families that come out for the day on sundays

Just as an aside I offer the following recommended activities and or resturants.
      1. El Cejas is a restaurant at Mercado 28. I highly recommend this seafood restaurant for its fresh cerviche and varied fish options. Mercado 28 is also a great place to get any souvenirs, much cheaper than anything you'll find in the hotel zone.
      2. The Little Mexican Cooking School - located 30min from Cancun the cooking school is an experience not to be missed if you love authentic mexican cuisine and want to know more about it. The school is located in Puerto morleos a sleepy little village that will make you feel that you are really in Mexico, unlike cancun. This is a great day trip!
      3. Isla Mujures- Another great day trip from cancun. Isla is an island that is short ferry ride from Cancun. Typically the water is much calmer in Isla and there are many beach clubs where you can spend the day. There is a plethora of great fresh seafood resturants right on the beach, the fisherman were literally delivering fresh caught lobsters and fish throughout the day. There are also many massage therapists set up right on the beach which we took advantage of for a fair price of $35 for one hour.
      4. Breakfast - there is a starbucks near the condo its a 3 minute walk. if you have a more hearty appetite I recommend Vips which is a mexican chain similar to a Dennys, but with far better food! Vips has both mexican and american style breakfast entrees that include fruit and coffee for about $10 us. The food is quite good and a good value.
      5. Downtonwn Cancun - Downtown you can find a Walmart for all of your shopping needs. Additionally, there are quite a few restaurants that are far more authentic and less expensive than anything you'll find in the hotel zone.

Left on 12/14/2010 for a stay in November 2010

Bombero Bill's Salvia condo is exactly what is advertised "beachfront" ...the condo was very nice, very clean and very near to many attractions as well as eating establishments. Because of the location, most attractions are within walking distance but even if you want to venture out further there is a bus service that stops right in front of the condo gate. I really could not believe what we got for the price! The internet was spotty at times but always worked in the bathroom area ;) I was there on as a medical tourist and this was really a great and comfortable to recuperate. I cannot wait to return!

Bombero Bill's condo was the perfect mix of comfort and great location! If you're looking to experience all that Cancun has to offer - the white sand beach and the Caribbean Sea, plenty of restaurants and nightlife or adventure excursions like snorkeling with whale sharks or ziplining through the jungle - Bombero Bill's really is a perfect home base. We found the condo to be clean and cozy, with new linens and bright colors that complement the scenery outside the sliding glass doors. There's a Walmart nearby where you can pick up snacks and even full meals for cooking in the kitchen, which is well stocked and even has a blender for homemade margaritas! The onsite staff was very nice and super helpful, and maid service was included making our stay truly effortless. There are even postcards in the condo so you can brag to your friends back home about your fantastic trip. The onsite pool was clean and quiet, and we spent hours upon hours just reading in the sun. When we weren't reading by the pool, we were picnicking on the beach or sitting on the balcony watching the sun rise over the Caribbean. I have no complaints at all... only that we couldn't stay longer!

The condo at the salvia was amazing. The staff at the desk is courteous and in less than a day, they recognize you and have your key ready, follow up on requests and talk to you like a friend and not just a customer. The housekeeping staff is very efficient and nearly transparent. They respond superbly to requests. The condo itself is very comfortable. Have all the comforts of home that one would need on vacation. The views, from sunrise to sunset, and even in the moonlight are breathtaking. The sound of the waves crashing in is better than any lullaby. Location is fantastic- in 5 minutes you can be to a nightclub, a great steak restaurant, an ice cream shop or simply a convenience store. Cabs and busses are easily accessible.

      First visit to Cancun

Left on 04/12/2010 for a stay in March 2010

This was our first visit to Cancun and we could not have chosen a better place to stay. When we travel ,my wife and I not only love going to the beach but also seeing the sights of the area. In addition we prefer to stay at a place where we enjoy a quiet breakfast or make our own dinner. This location was perfect for both. It was right in the heart of the fun area of Cancun and the fact that it was right on the ocean made it perfect! It was great to wake up and see the sun coming up from the balcony!!! The condo itself had more than enough room and a nice little kitchen, perfect to make the meals we wanted. The staff could not have been more helpful, especially William who offered us some great ideas about where to go and how to get there. The room(s)always cleaned early and spotless; we felt very safe with the security staff. While their presence was felt, they were never imposing.
The pool was the perfect respite from the hot beach , always cleaned and well kept.

We visited in the middle of Spring Break, which made it a little nosey and crowded, but we never heard the noise from our room. But we were warned that it would be a little busy in the area, that fact was not hidden from us which we grealty appreciated. The owners of the condo could not have been any more accomodating, and honest with everything .

I can honestly say this is a great place to stay , especially if you are looking to stay away from the expensive and overly crowded hotels.
