“Relaxing and tranquil” This was a great place to stay at. Progreso is a nice lazy fishing village at the tip of the Mexican state of Yucatan. It was a great place for our kids to hang out in the pool with comfortable accommodations. The beach is just a short walk down the road. If you like searching for shells, it is basically untouched (My daughter went crazy). The beach itself is not wide and a bit rocky the first few feet to get into it. However, it is shallow for about 100 meters or so out and wonderful warm water. From the beach you can watch the sunset in the evening. Progreso itself is not a destination really. Downtown is just okay. There are many things to do within 2 hours of time and Merida is only 20 minutes away. There are several supermarkets in town to bring drinks and food in. If you are looking for a great, relaxing place that feels like authentic Mexico, this is a great place to stay and visit. The site manager, Carlos, is a great guy and Jason, the owner, keeps on top of things. We would definitely return.

Telchac Puerto villa

“Wonderful vacation” We spent a Christmas week on the villa and received everything we were dreaming to have during this vacation - a spacious and tastefully decorated villa, very clean and comfortable; a big and clean pool, and an ocean - beautiful and relaxing. It was a great pleasure to have a breakfast on the patio on the second floor, to listen the ocean and breathe fresh salty air, or to relax in hammock during the day or in the evening. The small town of Telchack has few awesome restaurants with fresh seafood and delicious local deserts, it is very quite, far from tourist crowds and local people are very friendly. We have also enjoyed flamingos and other birds watching in the lagoon just few minutes drive, local ruins, ceinotes and Merida with its cultural events. This vacation had just one disadvantage - it passed too quickly. I wish we'll have at least two weeks to spend there.

Casa Limon

Merida house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Great stay at Casa Limon!” We really liked our stay at Casa Limon. It was three of us, a couple and our friend. Casa Limon had all we needed: comfy beds, plenty of space, good kitchen with utensils, hot water in the shower and a working wi-fi. In the backyard we could hang the hammock for reading during the day and sit around the table in the evenings with a bottle of wine. The house is a bit far away from the center, but buses run frequently and taxi isn't that expensive either. And in the area there are plenty of restaurants and stores, so there's no need to go to the center every day. Also the Grand Museo de Mundo Maya and Plaza Grande (a big shopping mall) are only a few walkable kilometers away.

1 BR Colonial Beach Hacienda Antigua Villa, 4 Guests

El Cuyo house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 4

“God's Oasis” My family and I just arrived back from our stay @ Casa Hacienda about a week ago. However the memories and visions of paradise are still so fresh in our minds we still feel as though we are there. Mattias was amazingly helpful right from the start answering all of questions promptly numerous times & really took the time to make sure we understood everything. Greatly appreciated... El Cuyo it self is a very tiny fishing village in what seems like the middle of no ware.. However, it is the essence of beauty and its beaches/water pristine. Only time we saw other people "Tourists" was during the weekend of Easter and it was only for 2 days due to the festival they have their yearly.. Truly an amazing party and glad we were able to experience it. Other than those 2 days the beaches were all ours. Casa Hacienda was perfect for my family as we have two teenage boys and a young daughter. We chose to rent the entire house as it comes with a king bed in one room w attached bath, and another room with 2 twin beds and attached bath. There is aC if it is too hot. Two T.V.'s and DVD players, as well as fully furnished with all cooking/eating materials. The house was perfect in all regards... Truly miss sitting on the front porch in the hammock with a Sol in my hand. Highly recommend renting a car so that you may travel an hr or so in different directions and see the wonders of Yucatan that lie an 1hr or so away. Cenotes, & Pyramids are breathtaking. Remiga & here family are the best... if we had room in our bags I am sure we would have taken them home with us. She took care of every need or question we had and make the best food around. You must try her fish!!! She constantly made us feel like family.. I highly recommend this area and this casa to anyone who is looking for the best beaches without all the people & hustle and bustle. Its ruff, rare & divine, making it a magical and memorable Gem you must experience. Go now!!! The Hargreaves Family.

Casa Maya Chelem, Yucatan

Chelem house

3 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“one month in Chelem” Chelem is a good base to explore the Yucatan. It is easy to get to many key sights and close to the beautiful city of Merida and the Port town of Progreso. Casa Maya is a clean, safe and well equipped rental...and the property manager is helpful. The street is quiet and a very quick 1 minute walk to a decent beach. There are many friendly expats that live on this street. There are several very good restaurants in Chelem but may not be open when you expect them to be. The house is a bit of a walk into town so we bought a bike and resold it. Some people may require a car as you will need food and water often. The town of Chelem does not have coffee, good meat, good bakery, or fresh milk so you will need to go into Progreso for those items as well as for laundry. Chelem is 15 minutes by car or much more by public colectivos. The house does not have a washing machine which is difficult for long term rentals like us. We enjoyed our time in Chelem and Casa Maya was a good fit for a small family. The walled yard was a plus. Beth

Casa Mandri's
Beautiful house

Beautiful housein a great location. Very well designed and on City water//sewer. Convenient to everything in the Yucatan. Wake up in the morning and enjoy your coffee with a cigar as the sun rises. Water was warm, sometimes a bit grassy, but I didn't mind. Had an issue which caused us to leave early and I thought the owner should have refunded us for the lost days but she was unresponsive. The rental agency, PVR, was easy to work with and very responsive to our questions, needs, and problem.see more
CASA FRIDA- MEXICAN BEAUTY-LOVELY PATIO & POOL!!
Thrilled with our stay

On my last days here. Staying here with my daughter (12 years old) for a mom and daughter vacation. Within walking distance to central part of town. Able to easily Uber everywhere. Katia is fantastic and very helpful. Love the feel of a home versus hotel room. Bedrooms have air conditioning, great relaxing backyard with pool. What could be better? Can’t think of much. Bring reusable bags, Uber to Walmart and you will be happy!see more

Historic home in central location

Amazing house and owners. Excellent communication with Becca and Beto. The house is stunning with top-of-the-line appliances, finishes, furnishings, etc.. Central location in the historic area with all the sights and sounds that you would expect. Staying in this house was one of the many highlights during my trip to Merida. I can't wait to return. Thank yousee more

Great house in Progreso

I stayed for a month in this 2 bedroom house with my friend. The house is very clean, ample space, and well equipped kitchen. The landlord was very honest and always did above and beyond what was in the contract. I highly recommend Errol and his house! … see more
Ana Maria condo
Stunning view from the terrace. Good value for your money

This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath condo. Nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. We rented the place for a month (good discount for monthly rentals). The kitchen is well equipped with dishes for at least 8 people (but only 5 cups and no wine glasses), basic pots and pans, microwave, toaster, blender and juicer (we made fresh orange juice every day). The internet connection was strong and fast. There is a tv (Spanish channels only). The view from the terrace is AMAZING!!! . You are literally sitting 50 feet from the water and you can see in the distance the Progreso dock (12km away) and the cruise ships. The beach is small and ok most days (we had days of strong winds and tides which brought lots of shells/weeds) - beach shoes strongly recommended to get in water (the first 10 feet somewhat rocky). We were there from Dec. 14 to Jan 12. Except for Xmas week, this is considered off season (we had few chilly evenings - but 22-28C during day) the complex was mostly empty (maybe 1/3 of condos occupied) so it was super quiet. In summer complex is full and very animated, I am told the terrace gets lots of sun in the summer months but in winter it is always in the shade. There is a small swimming pool but it was also always in the shade so we did not use it. A car is not mandatory but highly recommended (you can always get a Uber Cab to get to Progreso for about 100 pesos). For the price, this is a great place to use as a base to explore part of the Yucatan (Uxmal and Chichen Itza are both about 1.5 hour away). Closer you have the Salines (15 min away), some great cenotes (less than an hour) - avoid the ones next to Progreso - they are man made an not worth the visit. Merida is a very nice colonial town (30 min away). You can also spend a day in Progreso - some restaurants will provide beach lounge chairs free of charge if you order food & drinks. Others will rent them (250 pesos for 2 chairs & umbrella). The restaurants on the Malecon in Progreso are quite good and affordable (we were surprised how inexpensive the restaurants were in comparaison to Cancun / Playa del Carmen).see more
