Casa Limon

Merida house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Great stay at Casa Limon!” We really liked our stay at Casa Limon. It was three of us, a couple and our friend. Casa Limon had all we needed: comfy beds, plenty of space, good kitchen with utensils, hot water in the shower and a working wi-fi. In the backyard we could hang the hammock for reading during the day and sit around the table in the evenings with a bottle of wine. The house is a bit far away from the center, but buses run frequently and taxi isn't that expensive either. And in the area there are plenty of restaurants and stores, so there's no need to go to the center every day. Also the Grand Museo de Mundo Maya and Plaza Grande (a big shopping mall) are only a few walkable kilometers away.

Beautiful mexican bungalow for rent

Merida chalet

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Hospitality, convenience, and emersion in a real Mexican neighbo” We spent three months in the bungalow and it was a wonderful experience. The pool is a real one for swimming and the hacienda is safe. When you walk out the front gate there's the city bus down to the Zocalo, today's newspaper, the farmers market with everything, a fresh juice stand, a great Chinese take out, a chain food market with beer, wine and meats. Our tip, take the bus to the mall, catch a movie, eat out, shop and taxi home. Enjoy Carnaval!

Casa de Angeles vacation rental Merida, MX.

Merida house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Be warned!!!” Having stayed at Casa de angeles for three weeks I thought it might be important to mention what everyone has failed to...You will not want to leave!!! We are an aussie couple with 3 young kids (10, 6 and 18mths at the time) going to Merida and the Yucatan for the first time. Dealing with annette was a pleasure and she was extremely helpful with making all arrangements and contacts, especially Juan and Nora: the caretakers, neighbours, Spanish tutors, cooking instructors and guides.. and now friends. As with everywhere in Mexico, if you speak a little lingo, it goes a long way, but Juan speaks perfect English if you don't. They can be as involved or at arms length as you want, but don't pass up their local knowledge. The house is a 400 year old Spanish colonial terrace which reveals little from the street. But once you step inside you will be transported back to a time of grandeur long gone from modern construction. Annette and her husband have been ever respectful to local design and decor and have created a wonderful house, large enough for 2 families to enjoy. The palette of terracotta, pastel coloured walls, hand painted floor tiles, timber shutter doors, antique wooden furniture and soaring 5 metre ceilings show just how much of a labour of love the restoration of this home has been. And then there's the pool... the hub of the home if you have kids. Cool, deep and cleaned daily, it will be the place you spend most of your quiet time; watching hummingbirds and small tortoises make their way around the garden. Casa de angeles is ideally located near the centre of Merida and is a stones throw away from bus stations if you want to travel further into the Yucatan or other Mexican destinations. The bustling markets are within easy walking distance as is the Plaza Grande. And if you want to explore the world of the Maya and other cultural locations in the Yucatan please organise a tour with irwingtours.com.mx. You will love Casa de angeles like we do.

CASA FRIDA- MEXICAN BEAUTY-LOVELY PATIO & POOL!!

Merida house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Tranquil Tropical Oasis” Enjoyed my stay in Merida and at Casa Frida very much. the owner Katia and her Mom, Patricia, went out of their way to make sure everything was as it should be and even accomodate my last minute changes due to illness in my family (Muchas Gracias!). The patio and pool was essentially my "living" room in the morning and late afternoons after exploring Merida, Campeche and the Gulf Coast. Laundry service, directions, and ideas of where to get everything from flowers to food were provide upon request and promptly. Bus service around the corner to Centro Plaza and space for a small car with off street parking a bonus. I hope to stay here again when I return to the Yucatan - thanks Katia and Patrica for your hosting me and my family in your lovely house! Peace, Ron

“A little paradise!” I stayed at Sophie's house in Merida twice with some friends. The house is very beautiful, and huge! The two rooms are really far apart, and both have toilets, which is perfect for privacy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and there's a nice dinning room. But the real highlight of the house is the backward. There's a part of it that has a ceiling and hammocs, which is perfect to relax when the sun is too hot, and even when it rains. And to pool is amazing too! Apart from that, the house is well-located and you can easily walk to the center and the shops and markets to buy some food. I had a great time there both times and wouldn't hesitate to go back anytime!

“A Week To remember” What can Brenda and I say? Remarkable! Space, amenities, comfort, modern and old combined. Memories were made here and you have a home that I can only wish to own. All your suggestions were bang on and the rental car company literally delivered the car to the door and picked it up with no hassle and great pricing too. What a great time! About Merida

Once a fishing village on the Yucatan Coast, the laid back beach town of Merida is now a popular vacation destination for travelers from all over the world. Visitors come here to experience the breathtaking natural beauty of the inland rainforest and endless white sand beaches of Merida. This is the perfect place to escape from the bustle of everyday life and experience an authentic Yucatan getaway.

Get the most out of your stay in Merida by booking your own luxury beach side condo or villa. Vacation rentals offer better amenities and more space than hotels and are often more affordable. In the morning, watch the sun rise over the ocean while enjoying a leisurely breakfast on your private balcony. During your time in Merida, take a guided tour of the rainforest, explore nearby Mayan ruins, go on a dolphin watching excursion, or visit a sea turtle sanctuary. Head inland as the sun goes down to experience world class seafood restaurants and an energetic, vibrant nightlife. Or, head home to your vacation rental and host a campfire on the beach for your family and friends.

Here are a few additional suggestions for your trip:

  • Take a tour of the Mayan ruins of Uxmal: The majestic pyramid of Uxmal is one of the most visited ruin sites along the coast.
  • Visit the Hacienda Yaxcopoil: This preserved sprawling Yucatan plantation dates back to the seventeenth century.
  • Visit the anthropology and history museum: Explore the exhibits of this small but fascinating museum and learn more about Mayan and Spanish history and culture.
  • Explore the Zoological Park of Centenario: Located in the heart of downtown Merida, this charming, well- kept little zoo houses several native species of elusive and threatened wildlife.
  • Take a cooking class: After sampling the world-class authentic Yucatan cuisine at some of the restaurants along the coast, take a class and learn how to bring these flavors home with you.
  • Go diving: The underwater wreck and reef ecosystems off the Yucatan coast are excellent places to encounter sea turtles and other marine life.

No matter what kinds of activities and adventures you have in mind for your vacation, you'll find what you're looking for in Merid, and you won't have any trouble finding the perfect condo or vacation rental that offers all the amenities you and your family need. A vacation rental is a great place to relax, unwind, and reconnect at your own pace. While you're visiting Merida, be sure to explore some popular destinations nearby, like Tulum and Zihuatanejo.

A peaceful oasis

Not your typical cookie cutter B and B Ochenta y Dos is a well designed and well loved home where you're made to feel as if you're part of the family. Patrick and David are gracious hosts, fun and friendly and entirely unpretentious. We'd give it 6 stars if we could. … see more

Casa Osito -- Santiago Architectural Masterpiece
Our Home in Merida

We recently had an almost three week stay at the Casa Osito, and this place fit us like a glove and made us feel at home instantly. The entire experience from booking the accommodation to the actual stay was pleasant professional and welcoming. We instantly had our questions answered when booking the Casa and the photos on the site are exactly as the house is. Often this is not the case, but for Casa Osita it is actually better in person. the house is wonderfully located in the Santiago neighborhood, Easy walking distance to all the main squares within this incredible city as well as almost all the great restaurants. As for the house it was perfect, a very nicely appointed two bedroom three bathroom home with the perfect sized private pool. The décor was welcoming and tasteful, but made you feel like it was your home. Everything in the house worked perfectly, hot water, great bathrooms, kitchen stocked and loads of fans and air conditioning. In fact the house is cleverly designed and we never used the air conditioning in the three weeks. I would most certainly book this house again and recommend it to anyone, and the management of this property is attentive and friendly. Stay here and just enjoy this magical citysee more
Historic Luxury Hacienda with Sumptuous Design
An absolute dream

We had our wedding at Hacienda Sac Chich—it was an absolute dream. We stayed across the lawn at Casa Sisal while some close friends stayed in Casa de Maquinas, where we made mezcal cocktails, dipped in the pool around the clock, and dozed off on the star gazing platforms during the clear, hot nights. The house is beautifully restored from an 1860s henequen plantation with beautiful industrial details intact, of which the 85-foot chimney is mereley the largest. The bedrooms are airy with high ceilings, and each is beautifully arranged with mostly custom furniture—especially the master bedroom in the more newer side of the house, with its sunken settee and private plunge pool. Cyndy, Howie, and the staff were not just warm and attentive hosts but were easygoing in response to the sundry needs that came up surrounding the wedding. We had their staff prepare a delicious dinner (across the firefly-covered lawn at Casa Sisal) and a wedding-day brunch of fruit plates, chilaquiles, and mimosas under the loggia. We also had our reception in Casa de Maquinas’ dramatic courtyard; the kitchen proved a great place for our caterer to set up. The hacienda is near the small village of Acanceh, as well as a number cenotes and ruins—but we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave the grounds. Mérida, the nearest city, is about 40 minutes away and full of fantastic markets, restaurants, and bars (as well as beautiful places to stay for our other guests). We daydreamed about visiting Hacienda Sac Chich before we were engaged, then dreamed about it throughout our engagement—but from the moment we drove through its gates it exceeded those dreams. It’s a truly special place run by truly special people, and we can’t wait to visit again.see more
Casa Sisal- Exclusive Contemporary Country Home
An absolute dream

We had our wedding at Hacienda Sac Chich—it was an absolute dream. Casa Sisal’s architecture is even more outstanding than you imagine it, with each detail thoughtfully considered—from the way those enormous windows slide gently in their pockets to the waterfall showerhead in the sun-filled master bath. The master bed was heavenly, as is sleeping surrounded by the scents and sounds of the jungle before taking a quiet early morning dip. The central living area was beautiful open air or closed, day or starry night, and the great palm-lined lawn was breathtaking whether during the usual brilliant sunshine or the one gray afternoon we spent in our robes watching tropical birds stop by in the drizzle. Cyndy, Howie, and the staff were not just warm and attentive hosts but were easygoing in response to the sundry needs that came up surrounding the wedding (including providing a great list of suggested vendors). We had the staff prepare a delicious dinner to welcome our families to Mexico (a night we were surprised by fireflies), and a wedding-day brunch of fruit plates, chilaquiles, and mimosas for our guests staying across the lawn at Casa de Maquinas. The hacienda is near the small village of Acanceh, as well as a number cenotes and ruins—but we couldn’t bring ourselves to leave the grounds. We daydreamed about visiting Casa Sisal before we were engaged, then dreamed about it throughout our engagement—but from the moment we walked in (past the lily pond, to the aroma of fresh-baked banana bread) it exceeded those dreams.
