Beautiful mexican bungalow for rent

Merida chalet

1 bedroom / 1 bathroom / sleeps 2

“Hospitality, convenience, and emersion in a real Mexican neighbo” We spent three months in the bungalow and it was a wonderful experience. The pool is a real one for swimming and the hacienda is safe. When you walk out the front gate there's the city bus down to the Zocalo, today's newspaper, the farmers market with everything, a fresh juice stand, a great Chinese take out, a chain food market with beer, wine and meats. Our tip, take the bus to the mall, catch a movie, eat out, shop and taxi home. Enjoy Carnaval!

Casa de Angeles vacation rental Merida, MX.

Merida house

5 bedrooms / 3 bathrooms / sleeps 12

“Be warned!!!” Having stayed at Casa de angeles for three weeks I thought it might be important to mention what everyone has failed to...You will not want to leave!!! We are an aussie couple with 3 young kids (10, 6 and 18mths at the time) going to Merida and the Yucatan for the first time. Dealing with annette was a pleasure and she was extremely helpful with making all arrangements and contacts, especially Juan and Nora: the caretakers, neighbours, Spanish tutors, cooking instructors and guides.. and now friends. As with everywhere in Mexico, if you speak a little lingo, it goes a long way, but Juan speaks perfect English if you don't. They can be as involved or at arms length as you want, but don't pass up their local knowledge. The house is a 400 year old Spanish colonial terrace which reveals little from the street. But once you step inside you will be transported back to a time of grandeur long gone from modern construction. Annette and her husband have been ever respectful to local design and decor and have created a wonderful house, large enough for 2 families to enjoy. The palette of terracotta, pastel coloured walls, hand painted floor tiles, timber shutter doors, antique wooden furniture and soaring 5 metre ceilings show just how much of a labour of love the restoration of this home has been. And then there's the pool... the hub of the home if you have kids. Cool, deep and cleaned daily, it will be the place you spend most of your quiet time; watching hummingbirds and small tortoises make their way around the garden. Casa de angeles is ideally located near the centre of Merida and is a stones throw away from bus stations if you want to travel further into the Yucatan or other Mexican destinations. The bustling markets are within easy walking distance as is the Plaza Grande. And if you want to explore the world of the Maya and other cultural locations in the Yucatan please organise a tour with irwingtours.com.mx. You will love Casa de angeles like we do.

CASA FRIDA- MEXICAN BEAUTY-LOVELY PATIO & POOL!!

Merida house

2 bedrooms / 1 bathroom / sleeps 4

“Tranquil Tropical Oasis” Enjoyed my stay in Merida and at Casa Frida very much. the owner Katia and her Mom, Patricia, went out of their way to make sure everything was as it should be and even accomodate my last minute changes due to illness in my family (Muchas Gracias!). The patio and pool was essentially my "living" room in the morning and late afternoons after exploring Merida, Campeche and the Gulf Coast. Laundry service, directions, and ideas of where to get everything from flowers to food were provide upon request and promptly. Bus service around the corner to Centro Plaza and space for a small car with off street parking a bonus. I hope to stay here again when I return to the Yucatan - thanks Katia and Patrica for your hosting me and my family in your lovely house! Peace, Ron

“A little paradise!” I stayed at Sophie's house in Merida twice with some friends. The house is very beautiful, and huge! The two rooms are really far apart, and both have toilets, which is perfect for privacy. The kitchen has everything you need to cook, and there's a nice dinning room. But the real highlight of the house is the backward. There's a part of it that has a ceiling and hammocs, which is perfect to relax when the sun is too hot, and even when it rains. And to pool is amazing too! Apart from that, the house is well-located and you can easily walk to the center and the shops and markets to buy some food. I had a great time there both times and wouldn't hesitate to go back anytime!

“A Week To remember” What can Brenda and I say? Remarkable! Space, amenities, comfort, modern and old combined. Memories were made here and you have a home that I can only wish to own. Casa Sisal- Exclusive Contemporary Country Home

Merida house

2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms / sleeps 6

“Magical Escape” My friend and I just returned from 4 amazing nights in Casa Sisal. We had spent a few days in Merida, and the trip to the country was a fantastic counterpart. As you enter the grounds, beautiful landscaping and nature surrounds you. At the center of it all is the contemporary designed house, which exceeded the already high expectations we had before we arrived! The days were warm and relaxing and magical fireflies lit up the grounds as twilight began. Cyndy' suggestions for daily outings were interesting, tasty, and offered many insights into the history and local culture of the region. The caretakers, Bartola and her sister Soco were very warm and helpful and they cooked us an outstanding regional meal, which I highly recommend. We had a great time communicating with them using an iPhone language translation app! We can't wait to return with additional friends in the near future.

Hacienda Petac -Merida Estate-Book the Best-Early

Merida house

7 bedrooms / 8 bathrooms / sleeps 14

“Paradise in the Yucatán” My family and I just stayed at the Hacienda Petac for an unforgettable week. We all knew this was going to be a beautiful trip but we all left blown away. From delicious Mexican cuisine to the hacienda's expansive landscapes, this is the place you want if you are looking for a rich experience of all that the Yucatán has to offer. The hacienda's staff made the stay even more pleasant. Each and every one of the members of staff were excellent and friendly. Hacienda Petac is a short car ride away from the Yucatán's incredible Mayan ruins and breathtaking Cenotes (a must see)! The hacienda's tour guide, Miguel, is another of Hacienda Petac's gems taking us personally to each site and sharing with us the rich history of the area. All in all, I can't recommend Hacienda Petac and the Yucatán experience enough. Treat yourself to everything it has to offer. You can thank me later!

Historic Luxury Hacienda with Sumptuous Design

Merida villa

6 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms / sleeps 13

“Amazing Oasis!” Hacienda Sac Chich is one of the best places I have ever stayed! Located 40 minutes from the Merida airport it is easily accessible. Sac Chich offers a luxury experience in the heart of the Yucatan with easy access to the surrounding sites, such as the city of Merida, off the beaten path cenotes-where you will be the only one exploring the water caves, Mayan ruins, outdoor markets, and exploring the local scene. You can ride a bike to pick up freshly made corn tortillas and frozen fruit bars. The property houses spacious bedrooms with queen/king beds and individual bedrooms. There are small ponds full of lily pads and frogs, palm trees, and nothing but green surrounding you. You will have a pool all to yourself that is perfect for sipping freshly made margaritas and reading a book. There is a roof top to watch the sunsets, bocce ball, a field full of fireflies at night and a great sound system, in case you want to have a dance party. Everything is clean and well taken care of. The owners are more than happy to supply you with where to shop/dine, the best keep secrets of the area, maps with directions to everything and any other help you need. Staying here we had privacy, quiet, comfort, easy access to exploring and a place that felt like we had a home during our vacation. There is nothing negative I can say about my stay here. I would highly recommend Hacienda Sac Chich to anyone who is looking for a cultural Mexico experience.

Luxury Home with Pool in Historic Centro -Santiago
This well appointed home has all the comforts of home!

Arriving after dark was no problem for management. The home was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Four queen beds were comfortable and inviting after a long day of travel. The sparkling pool was visible from most rooms in the house, as was the lighted and landscaped patio. Sometimes it was difficult to decide to lounge poolside, in the living room, or in the TV/game room. There were enough spaces to offer refuge from the other members of our party for some quiet reading. My favorite spot for checking email on my laptop or reading, was the upstairs patio/balcony, overlooking the pool/patio, with the sound of running water. This home has been lovingly updated and upgraded from the time it was built. One of the fun pastimes was to imagine what it was like originally. That was difficult to accomplish sometimes, but all one has to do is look at the surviving hooks in the walls to see where the original inhabitants hung their hammocks...ahh, the tropics without this lovely a/C. Merida is a built on level ground which makes it easy to walk a few blocks to the center of town, where there are multiple choices for good dining and some shopping. One should not miss the Fine art. Merida, being the state capitol, has world class art even in the Governor's Palace. Nearby, is the Performing art Theater. To learn the most about this charming city, there's an open-air tour bus in this area also. There are so many colonial era churches, I lost count, but hope to return for a chance to concentrate on visiting as many churches as possible. Each one has distinctive personality. It was a pleasant surprise to have a neighborhood grocery store around the block...and there was a charming pocket park across the street from the store. One of the park benches has my name on it for the return visit. A small restaurant about 2 blocks from the house, has delicious pizza and a gift shop with some good buys in Mexican handcrafts. This lovely home is near the top of my must return list!see more
Casa Sisal- Exclusive Contemporary Country Home
Wonderful!

My wife and two young boys stayed at Casa Sisal and loved it! The home is absolutely gorgeous and the town of Acanceh is charming. We had a fantastic, relaxing time. We did a few side trips but mostly just enjoyed the weather, the home and the pool. We will definitely be back! … see more
Quiet home with pool close to Plaza Grande
Absolutely the Best!

Words can scarcely describe the overall experience we had during our five month stay at Sophie’s house. Everything, and I mean everything was perfect. The property is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as you walk through the hand finished custom doors you feel comfortable, welcome, and relaxed. Moving through the property your eyes are immediately drawn to the original 100 year-old hand painted tiles. The tile mosaics floors in each room are unique and different, not only imparting a dramatic sense of history, but also providing each space with its own individual charm and character. The Spanish colonial architecture of this beautifully restored property will take your breath away. The sweeping arches, stone columns, hand hewn beams, and wooden doors provide an overwhelming sense of history. For me, this served to create a truly relaxing environment ideal for contemplation, refection and creativity. Sophie’s impeccable taste is reflected in the high quality furnishings and local artwork. Unlike so many rental properties where the interior touches appear to be an afterthought, this property is clearly a home for comfortable living. The owner painstakingly saw to every detail. Your toiletries and a change of clothes are all you will need. The house has everything: linens, towels, pots, pans, kitchen utensils, dishes, silverware, you name it. The Yucatan can be hot, particularly in the Summer months, and the home’s design speaks volumes to the early architects who built these properties. The stone walls are easily two feet thick which serves to keep the house cool. The home does have air conditioning, but we never used it. We found the breeze from the ceiling fans, (each room has one), were more than sufficient for staying comfortable. The fabulous backyard pool was just the ticket after a hot afternoon of exploring the city. The covered patio, also with ceiling fans, overlooking the pool is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. During my five month stay in Merida I had the opportunity to personally view many of the homes offered here on Airbnb. I can say without the slightest reservation that this home offers much more than many of the more expensive listings. Sophie’s house is an incredible value. The property is centrally located on a quiet street within easy walking distance to all of Centro’s attractions. Merida is Mexico’s safest city and never once did I ever feel the least bit apprehensive walking through the city at any hour, day or night. Without question the best aspect of our stay in Merida was the graciousness of our host, Sophie. She went above and beyond to ensure we were completely satisfied and that all of our needs were addressed. She was always available for inquiries and her local maintenance team kept the house immaculate and in perfect order. If you are considering a trip to Merida, and I hope you are - it is truly a magical place unlike anywhere else in Mexico - do yourself a favor and seriously consider this property.see more
Historic Luxury Hacienda with Sumptuous Design
Outstanding..

Contrasting with its pristine modernist neighbour Casa Sisal, the Hacienda is offset fabulously. The play of modern touches through the shabby chic Hacienda look creates a scene plucked straight from a film set. The cavernous rooms and vaulted ceilings interspersed with giant sized furniture causes a virtual loss of scale rarely found in homes these days. Quirky touches such as a sunken sitting area in the master suite underline further the sheer grandness of the space. The interlinking communal area or loggia as it is known again displays large arches and high ceilings to great effect. A very majestic and magical space in which to dine or socialise. Don't be mistaken though that this is some generic homogenised 'boutique hotel' as seems to be the big buzz word currently. Very much a unique 'home' that neither intimidates nor disappoints. Quality as expected minus the bland. The hosts/owners who can be found close to hand when required are truly gracious, honest and enthusiastic people. Qualities rarely found these days. Location wise ideal for the city of Merida and numerous sites all within day trip distance. Beautiful peaceful location around the Hacienda with lush tropical gardens and tropical birds a plenty. A certain 'type' of traveller may not like this space but that's who 5 star chain hotels were built for and is all the more reason we loved it.see more

Piedras en Santiago
spacious and comfortabel

I enjoyed the warm ambient feel of this Merida colonial home. The view from the street does not give a good picture. Inside the rooms where huge, the ceilings very very high. Ceiling fans cooled the house and we only turned on the air conditioning once for an hour. The small dipping pool was great after a hot walk. We ate in the square in Santiago which was a 4 block walk from the house. We had meals for two that cost only 5-7 dollars. The mix of Mexican and Mayan food was the best of anywhere we ate in Meridia. Cab rides were only a few dollars and the tours to Uxmal and Cenotes were very reasonable. When friends ask what was the best part the Merida trip I say the house we stayed in.see more
