60750Great Place For a Family Getaway, Sure Beat My Dorm at NaU!
Left on 05/11/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We stayed here for my mother-in-law's surprise birthday trip to the Grand Canyon. The place was great and had everything we needed, especially in the kitchen. We also enjoyed having a grill, hot tub, and the wi-fi. Plenty of space for the 6 adults we had. It was very affordable for our sized group and allowed for us to eat alot of meals in saving $$$. The location is a bit outside of town but in a great area, and convienient to all the Northern arizona sights (we did Grand Canyon, Walnut Canyon, Wupatki, and the Museum of Northern arizona in 3 days). We had an awesome time in Flagstaff thanks to these great accommodations. Booking was easy and Clara was very helpful and accommodating. Thanks!

We spent 6 nights in this wonderful home and could not praise it highly enough. Clara has thought of everything to make your stay perfect and the Jaccuzi was awesome. We travelled to the Grand Canyon and Sedona and this accommodation is ideally situated for both.
Thanks for having us Clara and we will definately be back if we're ever in the neighbourhood againResponse from The Nakai Chalet - 06/24/2011

Very well equipped house, the owner has thought of everything. The kitchen has just about every piece of equipment you could need, and all good quality. Even tin foil, cling film etc.
The bedding and towels are good quality.
The house is suitale for larger groups with plenty of space. The hot tub was a lovely addition under the stars.
The Grand Canyon and Sedona are places to visit for a day from the Chalet. -

Grand Rapids, MIPerfect Base for Family Vacation
Left on 04/25/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We spent Easter weekend & the following week at the Nakai Chalet and found it to be an excellent base for our family of six. The sleeping accomodations allowed all kids to have a private sleeping area and afforded privacy for us parents too. The chalet is furnished with everything we needed to cook meals, grill, play games, watch movies, etc. The home is complete with wireless internet and full cable TV. The owner, Clara, has put so much thought into every detail and if you think of anything that's missed, it will be corrected immediately (though that didn't happen).
The best feature (other than great location) is the wonderful hot tub on the deck. It will fit 6 easily and was the highlight of almost every evening for our family.
The cabin is located just a few minutes from downtown Flagstaff and Sedona. And the Grand Canyon is only 2 hours away also. If you don't want to drive to the canyon, or to the colorado river - we recommend Silver Spur Tours - who picked us up from the Chalet for a colorado river float trip.
The Flagstaff area is a wonderful place for a family vacation, and after 1 week, there's plenty to return for. And you can bet we'll check www.cabinaz.com to reserve the Nakai Chalet for our return. Thank you Clara!Response from The Nakai Chalet - 05/19/2010

If you are looking for a comfortable, warm and inviting chalet to rent - look no further! My husband and I were celebrating our 10 year anniversary and found this gem! It has everything you need to make your stay perfect! We played pool, enjoyed great wine while we grilled, listened to our I-pod.. we were at complete peace.
Everything was perfect! The bedding, the kitchen, the living areas.. the owner literally thought of every detail! Games - dvd players- maps to anything and everything you want to see or do in the area and surrounding areas.
You can just feel the love and care that has been put in to this home. We are planning another trip again soon. This is the only place we'll stay when we are in the area... it's like HOME!
We visited the sites in Flagstaff and hung out with the locals.. The town is so friendly! My husband and I fell in love all over again.. and we fell in love with Flagstaff and this chalet. If you have a chance you must stay here!! Just leave some of the good spirit and vibes you bring with you. Enjoy! -

By far the best vacation rental experience we have ever had. Clara kept in contact with me until we were inside of the house. All of the information you will need during your stay is meticulously organized in easy to use binders. That includes information about the house and any info you will need about Flagstaff.
As for the home itself: It is in perfect condition, very functional and has a cozy feel to it. It sure feels bigger than 2300 square feet. I think two families could easily share this home for a week. We brought our three young children with us and they just loved it. We all spent about an hour in the hot tub under the bright stars. We will never forget our night at Clara?s home!!

Beautiful cabin in the pines just 6 miles from Flagstaff, Arizona and within easy distance to Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. It was the perfect size for our family of 7 which spanned the ages of 4 to 83. The owners have made the cabin family friendly with pool/ping pong table, several TVs, hot tub, beauftiful deck and gas barbeque and children's library of DVDs. Clara went out of her way to insure we were comfortable and all our needs were met. We highly recommend the Nakai Chalet.

Bay Area, CAThe perfect vacation home
Left on 07/09/2009 for a stay in June 2009
I would like to start by saying that I have stayed numerous vacation homes over the last 10 years. This home exceeded our expectation. My dad loved playing ping-pong, pool and relaxing in the recliner.
The house was stocked with all the amenities one would need, even laundry detergent. The kitchen had a strainer for Indian tea, which was a pleasant surprise!
Everything was very well explained and documented by the owners. The location is very picturesque and size of the house is perfect for a couple of families.
The games especially the pool table which doubled as a ping-pong table was the biggest hit. We would certainly like to stay here again in the future.Response from The Nakai Chalet - 07/14/2009

Thank you so much! I am so glad you had a great time. I truly love to hear about my guests and find out what surprises them! I also have an Indian book, Best Of Akbar Birbal! in the Navajo Room.
Thank you for your stay and for your review!

Mesa, AZFabulous vacation experience!
Left on 07/03/2009 for a stay in June 2009
We enjoyed our experience at the Nakai Chalet. It is far enough out of town to
enjoy the beautiful country, but close enough to town to get there quickly.
The cabin was stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable for the
week we stayed. The hot tub was a nice touch, and helped us relax at the end
of the day, when it was full. (Previous guests had left the water pretty murky,
and the service people had to empty it while we were there.) The beds were all
extremely comfortable, and the TV/entertainment instructions were easy to
follow. We would love to go back!Response from The Nakai Chalet - 07/03/2009
Owner
Thank you, and I would love to have you back! You took good care of the house!! I actually decided to hire a company to maintain the hot tub instead of paying the cleaning crew to do it. And after I read your message I was happy I did. A hot tub is much harder to keep up than a pool. I was told that every time someone goes in the chemicals move all around and that is how the cloudiness come. Also, the water needs to be renew pretty often. I must say that I was not told before I purchase the hot tub. Just after.:)

The Nakai Cabin we stayed at in Flagstaff was indeed amazing! It had a cozy and inviting feel to it & was quite roomy too. My favorite aspect of the cabin was the spacious kitchen, as well the comfy & snug loft upstairs!
Truly an enjoyable visit.

Phoenix, ArizonaMountain Getaway
Left on 06/01/2009 for a stay in April 2009
We just spent a relaxing weekend at the Nakai Chalet and had a wonderful time. This is
the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel -- and it was perfect. The house is close to very charming downtown Flagstaff, with all the shops and cafes that come along with a university town; and yet the chalet is in the mountains and surrounded by beautiful pine trees. You get the best of both worlds.
The chalet is in immaculate condition, and the bedrooms are thoughtfully decorated and very comfortable.
It's difficult to say which season would be best to use the chalet--if you feel like spending a cozy weekend enjoying the snow from the hot tub, winter would be great. But in the summer, you would be able to enjoy the great deck, use the grill, and smell the pine trees under the night sky.
Kids would love this place, and it would be perfect even for a group of friends who just want to hang out for the weekend and get away from the Phoenix heat.
We'd definitely recommend this house. Enjoy!
