My family of 5 loved our two week stay at the Kaha Lani! This was actually our second 3-week stay here, as we were here 3 years ago and decided to come back. This unit, #224, has amazing views. We enjoyed watching the sun rise each morning from the Lanai or beach a short walk away, and the location near Lydgate was awesome for the kids. We also like being centrally located on the island, which makes trips to the north shore or south end of the island much easier. It is also close to shopping in Kapa'a and Lihue, which is nice. Overall Unit 224 was well appointed and we thought the bed was comfy. We missed not having a washer and dryer, which the unit we previously rented had. It cost $3.00 to wash and dry a load of laundry, which seemed high. We also missed not having the upstairs master suite that the previous unit had (I think it was #214?) The apple TV option was very cool, since we could watch Netflix and I was able to connect to HBO go. Wifi was not as strong as it is here at home, but there weren't many streaming issues. We didn't watch much TV anyway.

We thought Kaha Lani resort to be one of the best spots on the island. The 180 degree view, the privacy, and the gorgeous 3 mile beach were exceptional. But we were shocked at how dirty the unit was, in particular the kitchen. We notified the property manager next morning and they were quick to respond to our complaint by sending housekeeping back, but it still wasn't to our standards.
Pros - heated pool was small but perfect for us and a great place to meet fun people
- swimming at the beach every day (lifeguard told us it was safe)
- unbeatable views - watching humpbacks every day, including giving birth!
- felt safe on the property
- great service from property manager Sue.
Cons- uncomfortable beds. Soft, and my feet hung over the end of the single bed and I'm 5'5.
- unit was not cleaned properly. We scrubbed the stove top, the tile grout on the kitchen counter, kitchen and bathroom floors
- time to replace kitchen blinds and tackle the ceiling fans
- would have been nice to have beach chairs/ mats/ umbrella/ cooler for guest use
I am not a picky person and I don't mind roughing it, but I do expect a place to be clean. As we were very impressed with the service from the property manager who have since assured us 'they have made adjustments to their cleaning staff', I would consider returning to Unit 224. I would definitely return to Kaha Lani as the other units I was able to go into, were immaculate.

Of course the island is beautiful with lots to see and do plus relax by the beach. The weather was a pretty balanced mix of rain, cloud, and sun.
The condo - fantastic location - minutes from airport, shopping, and restaurants, pretty central location so easy to get to other towns either direction, and in our opinion right down the path from the best beach plus excellent snorkeling! And the two playgrounds nearby were lots of fun for our kids. The condo had enough space for a five-person family. Well-stocked - we cooked one or two meals there every day and barbecued out by the pool a couple times, the condo had lots of books and games (lots of books in the laundromat too) as well as netflix, and the owners provided a bin of snorkels and beach toys which we used every day and really appreciated!
Our favorite thing to do was drink coffee and watch whales from the balcony every morning.
The bed was a but uncomfortable - we were kind of stiff in the mornings - but not unbearable.
I miss it and would def go back!
Beautiful Views, Paradise Vacation.

Kaha Lani #224 was a perfect choice. This unit has fantastic ocean views, catches the trade winds nicely, and is vey well maintained. The grounds are very well maintained as is the pool. We went scuba diving both from the south end of the island and on the north, so we were well positioned and travel time was minimal. I had a little difficulty with internet connection and the property management office fixed me right up.
Great value, I would definitely stay here again.

Did I say views? Panoramic views of the shoreline and rolling waves.
This is a large condo, great furniture, beautiful floors, Kitchen with everything you need.
I was a little under the weather during my visit so I did not explore as much of Kauai as planned, which made staying in this lovely unit even better as I spent more time lounging around than I'd planned. Easy and close parking to the unit and the beach was just steps away. Great owners--they provided me with the name of a great massage therapist as where to go for Luxury spa treatments.
Rental group was very helpful. This is the perfect peaceful place, away from the madding crowd, yet still close to everything. Car is essential. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Thank you Joan for a great escape!! -Christine Mcdonough Read more

The location and view were awesome. The condo had a nice lanai and was very comfortable. Pool and walk to beach was very close. The service was good. The only criticism I would have is that the bedrooms are overdue for new sheets and bedspreads. Also new bath towels and some upgrading of the bathrooms would help to update at very little cost. For the most part it was a nice condo and the area was perfect.

We absolutely loved our stay at Kaha Lani and Kauai in general. Everything about the condo was great. There were plenty of supplies, except towels but the rental company quickly solved that issue. Thank you! The one thing I did notice however, was there was a bit of rust damage. Gee I wonder why.. The ocean is a mighty powerful force! When we went to open the curtains the rod literally fell off. There was also an issue with the handle on the toilet in the guest bath. These are easy fixes and would not deter me from staying here again! In my humble opinion, the location of the condo is the best on the island! I can't put in words how breathtaking the views are! Overall, a great place to stay!

This was our thrid stay at the Kaha Lani - and we enjoyed it again. We rented 2 units to accomodate our extended family and both were very nice. Our only negative was in the kitchen ware - the pans were clearly old and in really tough shape. It is definitely time to replace the pans and glass ware in both units 224 and 123.

Stayed at the Kaha Lani for two weeks and enjoyed every day. The condo was clean and well stocked, including all the little things like spices and books and games. The beds were comfortable.
The condo is located conveniently to shopping and the beach of course. I would recommend this property. Read more

The condo was a good size and location for my group which included my husband, myself, my mother-in-law and my 2 year old. There is a wonderful path in front of the condo that we used to take in the scenary. It was so close (walking distance) to two wonderful play areas for my son. Unfortunately the storms that hit prior to our stay didn't allow us to use Lygate park for swimmming but we still had the opportunity to walk on the beach closer to the condo where some of the debris had been removed.
The condo was also in a great location for exploring the island. We spent time in the south and in the north and as we learned if the weather isn't perfect -- just drive for a few minutes :)
Not sure if it was the time of year but it was very windy -- it was wonderful that the pool was heated so that we could use it any time.
The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and even some basic spices which I have not always experienced when renting condos/homes so that was great. We also had access to grills on the property as well.
While the roosters were a hit with my two year old I wouldn't mind less of those :) But you can't escape them anywhere on the island.
Overall everything was wonderful and waking up to the sunrise everyday was a plus! Read more

Mahalo for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the beautiful Kaha Lani. The central location of this property makes it a popular choice for many! We are glad that the condo was well equipped for our needs! We did experience an unusual storm for this time of the year, creating windy and rainy conditions over the entire island. Fortunately it has passed and we are now experiencing sunny, beautiful weather! Aloha from Kaua`i!

Our family of 5 spent the week before Christmas here, and really enjoyed the complex. We used the pool, barbecued almost every night, played a little tennis and used it as a base to explore both the north and south parts of the island.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and the living room was quite comfortable. My only complaints were that the bed in the master bedroom was way too soft, and that the living room television was so small and outdated, with really poor cable, that we just laughed and never looked at it again. (We watched a couple of movies on Netflix on our laptop).
A new, slightly larger flatscreen TV, and a better bed would have moved this unit into the 5-star category. We are not big TV watchers at all, but with a broken remote, fuzzy cable reception and a tiny TV, it really reinforced why we don't watch much.
We really enjoyed the laid-back feel of Kaha Lani, and it seemed virtually empty, even right before Christmas
A lovely place

The condo is 'ok' equipped. (normal standard: nothing special, nothing missing) All windows are equipped with tiltable glass, allowing the east wind to stream through the condo at all time (it never gets too hot when you're inside).
The service and security in the Kaha Lani Resort gives you a confortable and secure feeling.
From the balcony you have a gorgeous ocean view and the condos are surounced by flourishing bushes and trees (always kept in very good shape by the resort).
Lydgate Beach Park (protected and lifeguarded swimming and snorkling area) is reachable by a 5 minute walk on the beach.
The location on the eastern part of Kaua'i allows you to reach any part of the island within reasonable time by car.
+ beautiful ocean view
+ great location/resort
+ very close to Lydgate Beach Park for a quick and save swim
- just a standard level/quality of equipment in the condo
- the WLAN access point did'nt work (but there are enough open WLAN networks from other condos to get by)

The instructions we received were perfect. Everything was where it should be.
The home was very nice, we could've used a few more fans as it was quite warm and humid a few of the days.
We've always liked the Kaha Lani location. The view and ocean can't be beat. Maybe a third floor spot next time.
We could have used more sundrie items, toilet paper soap just a few things.

This truly is lovely condo with a beautiful view! Many evenings during our stay we chose to stay in for dinner just to enjoy the view from the lanai. We all really appreciated all the little extras that were there to use (beach chairs, boogie boards, beach towels, toys, games, washer/dryer, etc. and my 8 year old loved having a play station there.) We did have one occasion to contact the property manager while we were there, and she quickly and professionally took care of us, which was greatly appreciated. What a great vacation at a great location! We hope to go back again soon!!!

Kaha Lani #224 was a beautiful "home" for us for 11 nights. Our weather was rather cool and rainy many days, something we seldom have had to deal with in Hawaii. The sunrises are fantastic, but I did miss the sunsets. For those we drove to Poipu. I enjoyed the walkway for strolls along the ocean, and the centrally located area of Kauai.
Our only complaint would be, not being allowed to have a late checkout on the day of departure. Since our flight was not until late eve, and we had to be packed and out in the morning, it made it more difficult for us to enjoy the last lovely day on the island. Other places we have rented did allow us to stay in our condo until 3pm.
Otherwise, it was a vacation condo I would like to visit again. Gail

Our family stayed at Kaha Lani 224 in early June. The condo was amazing - gentle breezes and the sound of ocean waves were enticing. The condo itself was very spacious and well equipped. One of the most memorable parts of our trip was being able to cook family dinners on the BBQ or by the pool. Thank you for providing a place that felt like home (without all of the responsibilities of a homeowner!!). Truly a fabulous vacation. We hope to return soon.
