The Bonnie Pearl was absolutely fantastic. The wildlife was plentiful and the scenery incredible. Bud was absolutely fantastic. He was very courteous and helpful and just an all around fun guy. He came across as someone who just enjoyed life and what he was doing. If we are ever in the area again we would definetly stay in one of Bud's cabins.

St. LouisNice Setting and Solid accomodations
Left on 06/04/2012 for a stay in May 2012
There is much to like about the Bonnie Pearl. The setting is beautiful and the cabins are very nice. The weakness of the property is in the sleeping accomodations. It's fine for 4 adults and can probably handle several additional kids but I would not recommend it for more than 4 adults. There were 6 of us and the fold-outs couch/beds are not my idea of good sleeping. (I did know the arrangements in advance, so I didn't assign a lower rating, just making note that it will probably be a factor in your overall enjoyment.) To put this in some perspective I would stay at the Bonnie Pearl again, but not with more than 4 of us.
My only other piece of nit-picking would be the need to strip your own beds and put all the towels in a room downstairs. I'm thinking at over $200 a night housekeeping could do a little cleaning up after the guests but like I said I know I'm nit-picking. -
Colucci Croppers!!!
Tell City, INWhat a Scrapbooking Retreat!
Left on 11/04/2011 for a stay in October 2011
This was our 7th year staying at the Bonnie Pearl with Bud as our gracious host. There are 10 of us and we are scrapbookers...the first year we didn't know if we would "fit"! But we did and we have been coming back to scrapbook for an entire weekend ever since. We are getting Bud some pictures of the cabin set up when we are there so if there are any other groups out there interested in a scrapbooking retreat with your friendsyou can't go wrong here. Only downside is you have to bring your own tables and "ott" lights! It's a blast!

Since finding Colucci Log Cabins, we have gone no where else. We have sampled all but the 2 smaller cabins, that's only because of our large group. We've been coming since 2004 to see our friend Bud a most wonderful host. His cabins are simply beautiful as well as comfortable. We need only bring our food and clothing, the cabins are well stocked from top to bottom. We so enjoy the breath taking view of the river and surrounding area. The hot tub fresh & clean ready to go. A washer and dryer! Easy access to the boat ramp for fishing or boating pleasure. Bud's craftsmanship is awesome, each cabin has it's own special signature detail. When I go to"The Nest" and look out the window I feel like the Captain of a mighty ship. The Bonnie Pearl has a hand made copper cupola. Le Chalet has a wonderful turret with large windows around the winding staircase. The Buzzards Roost has a commanding view of the River and surrounding area from on high atop the area.
This year 2011 we stayed in the new Castle Colucci. A great big kitchen area with a huge table we could all gather around for food, fun and fellowship. We spent a good deal of our time on the twin decks either rocking and talking or soaking in the hot tub.Saturday night was a big bonfire right on the edge of the bank of the mighty Ohio. We can't wait to get there every year and we never want to leave when our time is done. We find that coming to stay in these wonderful cabins that Bud has built helps us to re-bond, laugh, heal, destress, relax, re-energize our hearts, minds bodies and souls, walk in nature and beauty. We call it Our Healing Get-A-Way.
We can highly recommend:
The Heron's Nest 2004-2005-2006
Le Chalet 2007
The Bonnie Pearl 2008
The Lodge at Buzzard's Roost 2009
alas no 2010 due to life's little surprises for many of us.
Castle Colucci 2011
We look forward to 2012 we are already planning!!!
Thank You Bud, Sally and Michelle for making our visits feel like a Home Coming! -

We stayed in the Bonnie Pearl for our 40th wedding anniversary and it was amazing. The Views of the river and the cabin itself was the most relaxation we had in a long time. The cabin and all the rooms were beautiful. When they say all you have to bring is your food and drinks it is totally true. We hope to go back next year and for years to come. You feel like you have another family. I would recommend this place to everyone. It was the best time ever. Thank you Bud and the girls for everything, until we meet again.
