The Carriage House at Twelve Oaks is a private and peaceful retreat just 7 miles from the historic town of Mariposa and conveniently located midway between the Hwy 140 and Hwy 41 entrances to Yosemite, just 38 miles to either entrance. Follow the Merced River Canyon up Hwy 140 to the Arch Rock entrance into Yosemite Valley or take a scenic drive along Hwy 49S to Hwy 41 to the Southern entrance near the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia trees and the Wawona Golf Course.

I have had the joy of staying in the Carriage House several times. The house, which is essentially a studio apartment, is immaculate and very comfortable. It's easy to feel at home here, surrounded by oaks with a nearby pond and outside tables and chairs. The Carriage House is a perfect base from which to explore the region; Yosemite is only about 40 minutes away. Donna is a wonderful, thoughtful hostess, with a vast knowledge of Mariposa, Yosemite and many other less-known fun spots in the area.
