Description from manager

Description

One of four cottages skilfully converted from sixteenth century farm buildings, this three bedroom cottage can sleep up to seven people in a great location on a working farm in Luntley, Herefordshire.A detached barn conversion, this charming property is full of character yet offers extremely comfortable accommodation, including underfloor heating in the open plan living area, exposed beams and wall timbers. Dating from the 16th century, this lovely building has three bedrooms on the first floor; a king-sized double room with an en-suite, a twin room with an extra single bed if needed, and a set of adult bunks. There is also a double sofa bed in the large living area, offering a real flexibility of accommodation. Outside, the cottage has its own lawned garden and also shared use of a paddock, ideal for ball games. With Hereford, Hay-on-Wye, Pembridge and excellent walking and cycling nearby, this is a wonderful base for a break in the English countryside.

Amenities: Oil central heating with underfloor heating in open plan living area. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV, video, DVD, CD, wireless internet available. Fuel & power inc. in rent. Bed linen & towels inc. in rent. Cot available. Off road parking for 3 cars. Bike storage. Enclosed private lawned garden with furniture & BBQ. Shared use of paddock for ball games. Sorry, no smoking. pubs 2 miles. Note: there is no electric car charging at this property.

Region: Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.

Town: Luntley is a hamlet, tiny in size and rural in location, set to the north of Herefordshire in the Welsh Marches. Visitors to Luntley will enjoy the walking and cycling available in the surrounding countryside, while for amenities with character, head 2 miles down the road to Pembridge, a medieval village on the Black and White Village Trail, whose half timbered houses, three olde worlde pubs, 14th century market hall and interesting church make this village a firm favourite with visitors. Hereford and Hay-on-Wye are within easy reach, and well worth the trip.

“Excellant accomodation and surroundings”

Reviewed 7 Dec 2011

The ground floor of the property was spacious and ideal as we had two children under five so there was place for them to play. The garden and paddock behind was ideal for ball games and play.
