Located in Pine Mountain Club CA, this newly refurbished three bedroom, one and a half bath home provides an ideal retreat from the relentless pace of the big city. Chris' Cabin sleeps up to 8 people.
Only a little over an hour north of LA, people find it hard to believe that they're even in Southern California. We're located at 5,600 feet, on the forested slopes of 8,831 foot tall Mt. Pinos, where all four seasons make themselves known, one after the other.
We're located walking close to the quaint PMC village center, which offers many conveniences, from restaurants and shops, to a grocery store and video rentals, to name a few....Read more

Bakersfield, CAWeekend in the Mountains
Left on 04/26/2013 for a stay in April 2013
Excellent communication around arrival and departure arrangements, and the features of the cabin. Location was fantastic, with a tremendous mountain view from the north side of the cabin. It was an easy one hour drive from Bakersfield. The cabin is rustic and comfortable, with some updates (WiFi, satellite television, DVD library, etc.), but still retaining the character of the original cabin.

Left on 02/27/2013 for a stay in February 2013
Some old friends and I had a great reunion at Chris' Cabin. Chris was very helpful answering our questions and he made the whole process very easy. The cabin was clean and comfy, with a great entertainment system and a huge DVD collection (over 500 titles).
Though the cabin is close to the Village Center, it felt very secluded and private. It's down a long driveway at the end of a street, so we felt we had the mountains to ourselves!
We spent much of our time hanging out on the spacious deck, which has a breathtaking view of the mountains. We barbequed out there and enjoyed the comfortable camp chairs provided.
The cabin was very organized, with a welcome book describing where everything is in the cabin, all the local activities and hiking trails, and how to use the entertainment center. It made everything easy.
We had a wonderful visit and would love to come back again!

Glendale, CaliforniaOur Fourth amazing Cabin Getaway at Chris' Cabin!
Left on 02/12/2013 for a stay in January 2013
It was our family's fourth time visiting the cabin, and our experience was excellent, just as before. The cabin is even more beautiful in person with amazing views right at the patio. It is extremely clean and everything is very well organized so no time is wasted trying to puzzle out how to turn on the TV or where to find something - everything is clearly explained and labelled. Chris is very kind and helpful, always quick to address our questions and concerns. This cabin is perfect for anyone wanting to spend time with their family and friends in beautiful surroundings!

We had a very nice stay at this cabin. The owner was gracious with all needs and more than helpful. The cabin was well equipped with what you need for your stay. The beds were very comfortable and the scenery was like out of a magazine. If you forget something, town was close enough to be able to pick things up and the people there are polite. I would stay at this cabin again, the movie selection alone is worth the stay.

The cabin is immaculate and the owner is immensely organized with amazing response and service. The cabin is quiet and easily accessible. The Mil Potrero trail in the cabin book is well worth the biking or hiking. His movie collection will keep you entertained for a long long time!! Perfect for 4 people. Close to village center and everything in area yet is part of a community. Highly recommend!

Left on 11/23/2012 for a stay in November 2012
I was planning a trip with a friend to California for a dog show. When I asked Chris how he would feel about us staying at this cabin with 5 australian Shepherds, he couldn't have been more gracious and welcoming. The cabin is very cozy, and well equipped. The owner was so easy to work with, and available by email, as well as giving us his phone number in case of problems at the cabin. The Welcome Book at the cabin is very detailed about things at the cabin, things to do in the area, and the little town up the road. We couldn't have had a nicer vacation.

Our large family of 8 had a great time at Chris's Cabin! We filled it to capacity yet found it very comfortable with all the latest amenities. Chris was an enthusiastic host who answered all of our many questions and made sure we had everything we needed to have a wonderful vacation.
The information and photos about the property were accurate.
I would definitely recommend this property to friends! -

Left on 08/17/2012 for a stay in August 2012
have the memory of sitting on the deck in bliss with the pine-scented air, the unworldly view and sounds of the birds. But besides this wonder,I also had a feeling of security and comfort because everything in the cabin has been carefully thought out : detailed instructions where to find anything and how to operate the TV, the lights, the appliances, maps for hiking, resatuarnats, shopping, swimming. So the experience was one of being totally cared for in a little bit of heaven. I'll go back!

Santa MonicaCharming Rustic Cabin
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This charming cabin manages to be homey and cozy yet feel very spacious, with an upstairs and downstairs and big balcony. The open-air balcony overlooks a gentle hill, where birds and critters like to play and forage. Really fun to watch. We saw chipmunks, squirrels, blue birds and many other birds. Great walks and hikes--one with a waterfall, close and only an easy/moderate climb. The host is super well organized and worked very hard to answer our every need. Everything you need, from Tupperware to Dvds galore to instructions on fun things to do close by. I hope to return again soon.

Great location, well equiped, charming, quiet. Highly recommended. This is our 2nd visit and we hope to get away again sometime during the summer. We love that we can bring our dog. Chris is exceptionally helpful in answering any questions and concerns - we had a brief glitch with watching a movie, and he was on the problem immediately and it was quickly resolved. Can't wait to go back!

Left on 10/12/2011 for a stay in October 2011
We had a wonderful , relaxing time at Chris's cabin - just my husband and I and our dog, Lacy, although there is plenty of room for a big family or several couples. We had some initial difficulty with getting the satellite radio to work, and Chris very kindly called us at the cabin and walked us through getting music. It was wonderful to have commercial-free music at our fingertips, and we also enjoyed a couple of movies from Chris' extensive DVD selection. We loved the fireplace, the king bed we used was very comfortable and the house was well furnished and quaint. Inspiration Point is very lovely. We took Lacy on several very nice nearby hikes as well. We'll be back, thanks, Chris!

My family and I could not have had a better experience in renting Chris' Cabin. The cabin was clean, comfortable and had every amenity we needed. We definitely can't wait to come back to this magical cabin.

My BFF and our dogs spent 3 days at Chris' Cabin. You could hear the stream below the semi-secluded cabin while watching the blue-jays and the gray squirrels scurry around from the deck. Inside the cabin Chris' has high-speed internet, satellite TV and Dvds if that's your choice. Chris is a perfect host and a great ambassador for Pine Mountain Club. Chris made us feel like family! We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin to all!!

I have been to Chris' Cabin three years in a row and would never stay anywhere else in Pine Mountain Club. Chris is a thoughtful, responsive and responsible host, who spends a lot of time in the cabin himself, which means he keeps the cabin up to his own standards. The cabin is the perfect combination of rustic--mostly due to the beautiful old oak trees encircling the deck, and high-tech. It's an ideal place to just come to read, hike and cook, which is what i like to do there. I'll be back!

Pasadena, CACozy and private weekend getaway with lots of outdoor adventures
Left on 02/24/2011 for a stay in February 2011
I just spent the President's Day weekend with my children and parents at this cabin. We had an absolutely wonderful time! The living room is a bit small but very cozy, and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. The DVD selection is outstanding -- over 200 titles. There are lots of games, a nice fireplace, easy internet access, a small but well-equipped kitchen, and fantastic instructions and directions to local hikes provided by the cabin owner. For example, when we wanted to start a fire, I just looked up "firestarting materials" in the instruction book and found out they were in a wooden chest near the fireplace. What's especially nice about this cabin is the privacy -- it's at the bottom of a cul-de-sac right above a creek, and just a couple of blocks away there is a pretty trail called the "Snowflake Trail" that leads to the Pine Mountain Club village center. The village center has a little grocery store, a nice bakery, a good restaurant where we had hamburgers and chili, and a great kid-friendly pizza place with good beers on tap. We all loved our visit to this cabin so much that we've already reserved it for the same time next year.

This is the second time that we've stayed at this property, and we're already looking forward to our third time. The cabin is clean and cozy, and the owner makes sure that everything you need is there to ensure the feeling of being at your 'home away from home." My kids had a great time exploring the surrounding area, and had a blast playing in the snow. I would definitely recommend this property.

Visalia CASpectacular cabin getaway for two or the whole family!!
Left on 01/19/2011 for a stay in January 2011
For the sake of people who don't like to read lengthy reviews, I will keep this as short as possible.
First I must say that Chris is awsome!! Thee most attentive individual I have ever done business with. He made sure everything was just perfect for our stay. There was even a message on the answering machine waiting for us...asking if we arrived ok and if there was anything we needed or if we had any questions. I can go on and on about Chris and how accommodating he is, but let's get to the cabin.
The cabin was very cozy, warm and extremely functional. It has plenty of room to sleep 8 comfortably and pretty much everything one could possibly need for a one day, week or even month stay. The kitchen is fully loaded with everything to cook any meal you desire (even a crock pot) and the local grocery store is just a few minute drive or 10 minute walk away.
My children played in the snow right outside the front door every day we were there. We all enjoyed the flat screen TV, movie library, surround sound system and board games. There are quite a few areas back toward Frazier Park that have bunny hills to play on with sleds, disks or whatever. (Chris has sleds at the cabin for the guests to use as well.) I guess I should stop rambling... I said I would keep it short.
We plan to visit again in the very near future...no children this time ;) and can't wait to return with the whole family this summer.
Thank you Chris for everything... you've just acquired another group of "regulars.â€

Left on 01/19/2011 for a stay in January 2011
This place took me back to the days when I was a kid. Chris was very easy to work with and extremely accomodating. The cabin was clean, well maintained and the beds were very comfy. He even provides things like baby gates, bean bags and an aero bed. The entertainment center is amazing! You can plug your ipod into it and there are also speakers in the upstairs bedroom for an ipod. He really did think of everything. You can tell he loves the place and enjoys sharing it with others. The town is cute and the pine mtn club has activities for the whole family. We enjoyed the snowflake trail just down the road and going up to the top of Mt Pinos to play in the snow. It was a quick 30 min drive to the top. We plan on returning again and again. Thank's Chris for a lovely weekend!

Chris' Cabin was just right for our quick winter getaway! The cabin was clean and warm. The mix of the cozy 70's decor with the modern appliances and entertainment system was really neat. For small groups, this is my new recommendation in PMC, and was reasonably priced. Chris was great and even had no problem accommodating our very last-minute reservation. We hope to return again in the future

El SegundoOur Perfect Vacation
Left on 12/24/2010 for a stay in December 2010
Pine Mountain Club is the perfect vacation spot and Chris has made his cabin into the perfect little haven for all his guests. His home is so warm and, as my niece put it, 'cozy'! The weather ended up perfect during our stay. We had rain and cold that kept us inside, playing, eating, sipping hot cocoa, listening to x-mas music, playing chess, pictionary, cards, chatting, all while being warmed by the fireplace. On another day we made our way further up the hill and played in the snow. After a little sledding and snowball fighting we hiked around the little town, through the snowflake trail and ended up at the quaint little shops. We love the snowflake trails, also referred to as the 'Enchanted Forest' ... it feels like you just stepped into 'Narnia' !!!
One of the things I liked and appreciated about Chris was that he went rushing to buy some 'snow disks' when I asked if he had some at the cabin. When I said to him that he didn't have to do that he responded 'Only the best for my guests!!.'
Chris is also excellent when it comes to communication. He always answers all my emails and phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner. Hi is so nice and personable and you can tell he really cares about people and pets. Another example that showed how caring Chris was, was the time he took to explain, in a 'very' precise way, how to get to his cabin and also offering suggestions of the best places to buy gas. I would definitely recommend Chris and his beautiful cabin to anyone wanting a wonderful and peaceful bit of paradise on earth ... we can't wait to be back.
Thnx Chris for all that you do to make sure your guests feel welcome and special!!!

Chris's place is fun, quiet and well planned for guests. I believe he's though of everything! We cozied in, built a fire the first nite, but got warm the next 2 days. We enjoyed the deck, the trails & the sound of the creek.

Newhall, CAWonderful Weekend Get-away
Left on 09/12/2010 for a stay in September 2010
We had the pleasure of re-visiting Chris' Cabin over Labor Day Weekend. We love the fact that it's at the end of a cul-de-sac, with a long driveway that takes you off the beaten path. The deck is perfect for a morning cup of coffee overlooking the meadow, listening to the birds after a great night's sleep in super-comfy beds.
This trip, we explored more of the Snowflake trails, hiked into Pine Mountain Club center one day, and through an enchanting private grove another. Our dog Trixie was able to get lots of exercise and romp like a puppy.
In the evenings, we made use of Chris' extensive DVD collection, while watching the fire. The cabin's wireless connection is also great for keeping up with my schoolwork.
As always, we can't wait to go back! Thanks for being a wonderful host, Chris! -

Pine Mountain Club is so beautiful! I can't believe it is such a short drive from la. Chris' cabin is in the perfect location; high enough to have great views, but close to the cute little town. The huge deck is a great place to read and relax and look for wildlife. Our dogs loved hanging out there. The cabin is on the end of a cul de sac, so it is very quiet. The cabin is clean and well maintained. The bedrooms are huge! Fast wireless. Nice flat screen with satellite. Good walks all around and some great hiking! We will definitely go back. Chris is very nice and easy to work with. This was a great find!!

From the moment we arrived, it was evident that Chris made all the accommodations that would allow his guests to feel welcome; whether it was providing fresh cold water or a guest book filled with point-by-point explanations to guide visitors and let them feel at home. In his description of the cabin, Chris was honest and modest. The cabin is very peaceful and quiet and it is an ideal place for families to relax and enjoy their time in the natural surrounding of pine trees and forest critters. It was a pleasure to communicate with Chris given his responsible and punctual character. It was a great stay and we will definitely return.
