Both Maya Luxe and the owners of the house are extremely sorry for what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation in Mexico, then turned out to be a robbing negative experience. Once again, we are very sorry to hear about the loss of your valuables. Our concierge always highly recommends placing all valuables in the provided safes at all times. And while we are not legally responsible for the loss, we did feel morally responsible, and we hope the cash refund the owner provided was more than enough to cover your lost items. In addition to the cash refund that we provided instantly, the owner also offered a 1 night credit for your future stay at the villa as an additional way to let you know that we will be addressing all the maintenance & Security issues. We hope that you will return with the 1 night credit to experience the villa once again. With regards to the villa updates we are pleased to let you know the following items have already been addressed: 1. Access to beach was built with a stone passage way leading from the house to the sand. 2. Air conditioner was replaced in the living room 3. Handles and doors were replaced in the kitchen 4. New linens and towels 5. Patio Shade was addressed with an updated canopy, in addition to all of our efforts to provide extra shade during your stay. Since your visit, the maid we believed to be responsible, was dismissed from her position, and additional security measures have been implemented with installing security cameras. Even with these security updates, we still highly recommend to NOT leave your valuables laying around. Please use the provided safes. Since your stay in October, we’ve had many satisfied guests’ come and go from the villa with no issues and they have provided positive feedback. Christa, on behalf of Maya Luxe & the owners of the house, we still hope that you will take us up on our offer and experience the property one more time with the one night credit. “Great locale, but needs upgrading”

Response from the manager Thank you for providing your feedback, we take every comment received with the utmost importance and continually make efforts to ensure complete guest satisfaction. While things in Mexico are never perfect, we feel that some comments in the review were warranted and we appreciate you alarming us of those items. Unfortunately, sometimes it can be quite challenging to be aware and maintain all of the house amenities due to the time constraints associated with consecutive same day check ins/ outs. Based on the information you provided, our team has diligently worked for the past two months during the unoccupied times to address all items mentioned and make improvements throughout the house. Per the comments that you mentioned, the kitchen cabinets have been replaced, and additional kitchenware has been added. New futons and high quality bed and bath linens were purchased. The patio furniture has been completely refreshed and all of the lights outside have been working. The jacuzzi heater has been upgraded to a new unit that works well. There are numerous beach chairs available for relaxing on the beach. The house is sprayed on a regular basis for insects. Our top priorities are exceptional hospitality, service, and cleanliness and we deeply apologize if this was not prevalent during your stay. The house has never had a TV in the living area, which was wrongly described by the tripadvisor description (now corrected), but there is a beautiful panoramic ocean view and large flatscreen TVs in every bedroom. We recently added complimentary chef services, which includes breakfast and lunch prepared daily and beverage service provided during that time. The house has never had a dishwasher, however, with the daily maid and chef service, one is usually not needed. There is a concierge available daily for the guests to assist with any needs or questions. We take extreme pride in the 5 star reviews we have received over the years and continually strive to exceed all of our guest's expectations. After receiving a steady amount of superb reviews, your review is a reminder to us that we have to do more to not just please 95% of our guests, but 100%. We are sorry that we let you down in any way and can assure you that we are determined to provide the best accommodation and service. We hope you consider giving us another opportunity to demonstrate this.
