A seasonal stream runs through the property. We invite you to share our family's special retreat.This original 1960's A-frame cabin is every bit as charming and serene as it looks. With 1250 square feet, Idyllcreek sleeps 4-6 people (1 King bed, 1 queen bed, and 1 inflatable areo bed). Inside the cabin, you'll love the wood burning fireplace, fun spiral staircase, and wireless internet (because even a rustic getaway should be convenient). Idyllcreek also features 1.5 baths, and has 2 patios so you can enjoy this beautiful wooded backdrop to the fullest. Idyllcreek gets is name from Idyllwild, California, which is just a short walk from the cabin, as well as the seasonal stream that runs on the property. Response from the owner Hi Chuck, I want to start by sincerely thanking you for your honest feedback and let you know that your words have not gone unheard. We are owner-managed, family-run operation and we took your feedback straight to the heart. Joey and Erin just spent a good week giving our beloved Idyllcreek some TLC so I wanted to share the updates with you. After reading about your thoughts with our AC units, we have installed central, forced-air AC. The noisy AC floor units are gone and our new system is quiet as quiet can be. Being that you came on a busy holiday weekend, Fourth of July, we hope that the noisy neighbors was a one-off thing as we have not heard any complaints since. As for your feedback on the creaky floors, Idyllcreek was built in the 1960's so a little creak in the floors is just part of it's charm. I hope you were still able enjoy sleeping in the A-frame loft, despite the creaky floors and your height. We also hope your kids enjoyed sleeping in the second bedroom which actually contains a Standard Queen-sized bed. As for the deck, we just refinished it so no need to worry about splinters anymore. We also gave our interior fresh paint, specifically in the kitchen and bathroom. After inspection, we felt all the shelving was in near perfect shape so they remain as is and we gave the doors fresh paint as well. Regarding the outdoor furniture, we do our best to keep the outdoor furniture as clean as we can. Since Idyllcreek is hidden amongst the tall pines, falling sap and pine needles are a on-going battle to keep up with. Lastly, I'm so sorry to hear that your allergies were acting up while in our fresh mountain air. We are a non-smoking home so I assure that we had no chain-smokers in the house for weeks. What more than likely happened is the guests before you did not properly use the fireplace which caused some smoke to come into the house. The best way to avoid this is to make sure the fire is push all the way to the back of the fireplace and keeping a window or two open to ventilate always helps. We also have the chimney cleared throughout the year. We only wished you would have shared the feedback about smoke during your stay as we would have been happy to explain or show you the best way to ventilate the cabin. Thank you again for taking the time to share this review with us. I happy you found us communicative hosts and found your experience in our rustic A-frame unique.
