This beautiful Polesworth cottage occupies the first and second floor of one side of the medieval gatehouse leading to Polesworth Abbey, extending across the arched entrance way and can sleep two people in one bedroom.Porter's Lodge is a beautiful Polesworth cottage, occupying the first and second floor of one side of the medieval gatehouse leading to Polesworth Abbey, extending across the arched entrance way and can sleep two people. The cottage has a second floor king-size double bedroom with a sloping, beamed ceiling, a first floor bathroom and a first floor open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area with a woodburner. Outside there is off road parking for two cars and full use of the Abbey grounds. Porter's Lodge is a lovely holiday base.
Amenities: Gas central heating with woodburner. Electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, DVD, CD/radio, WiFi, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel, power and wood for stove inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. folding bed on request. Off road parking for 2 cars. Full use of abbey grounds. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and pub 2 mins walk. Note: Internal wooden staircase leads from the front door to the first floor accommodation, some pets may need to be carried up and down, and there is a further shorter staircase leading to the bedroom. Note: The bedroom has a sloping, beamed ceiling. Note: There is a pub and social club across the road and some noise may be heard.
Region: Visitors to the Cotswolds have long treasured memories of charming towns and villages built from the famous honey-coloured stone, it now boasts a thriving community of contemporary artists working from studios and shops throughout the area.
Town: The town of Tamworth is a large market town which takes its name from the River Tame which flows through the town, along with the River Anker. Tamworth is home to both Tamworth Castle and the Moat House, two wonderful, historic buildings. The town is also home to the Snowdome, a full-sized indoor ski slope with real-snow and Drayton Manor Theme Park is not far away, providing a fun-filled day out for everyone.
