Description

This detached three storey house offers stunning views over Dartmouth river and the town. Furnished and equipped to a very high standard it offers 5 bedrooms - 1 super king (with room for cot) , 1 king (with room for cot), 1 double, 1 twin and 1 single - 4 luxury bathrooms (3 en-suite), lounge with study area, dining room, kitchen, cloakroom and utility. All rooms open out onto either a balcony or covered veranda with fantastic views. Parking is available on site or on the road. Entered from the top/third floor, there are two bedrooms - 1 double, 1 twin - each with luxury en-suites and their own balconies. The double also features its own private terrace. The main rooms are on the middle/second floor - lounge with TV and study area, dining room and kitchen (cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave), cloakroom and utility. On the ground floor are 3 bedrooms - a super king with luxury en-suite, a king and a single sharing a luxury family room with shower and bath - with all rooms opening out onto a covered veranda with stunning views and overlooking the garden. All linen and towels (excluding bathing/swimming towels) are included. A cot and highchair can be provided for young children plus stair gates.

The owners have an adjoining annexe with separate entrance which may or may not be occupied over a rental period.

“Luxurious house, fantastic location with incredible views”

We are so glad that we found Compass Rose. It is without doubt, the best rental property we have stayed in. It is furnished with no expense spared. It has 4 double bedrooms, all with extremely luxurious ensuites, and a further mid-sized bedroom. The kitchen, diner and lounge area are similarly well appointed. As a three storey house, each level has its own balcony / decking area. The bottom area has a covered seating area complete with heater, which is perfect for late night socialising. The views from the property are outstanding, giving you a view out onto the River Dart, and the wider town. And the location is ideal. It's a bit of a squeeze to get your car up the lane to the property, but that is par for the course in Dartmouth! You can walk down into the town in about 5 minutes. We stayed as two families of four and absolutely loved our stay. We couldn't recommend Compass Rose highly enough. Big thanks to the owners for providing such an amazing venue.

“Perfect for a big family holiday”

If you need a big house with off-road parking, in Dartmouth, this one is well worth considering. With five bedrooms and four bathrooms it is a flexible arrangement. The only downside might be that it is located quite a way up a hill, with some very narrow access roads. Best to follow the owners recommended route. The kitchen and dining area is a good size and very well equipped.

“Fabulous-wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying here.”

As described the house is really spacious and equipped with everything you can think of, down to an extensive range of spices to use. The views are truly wonderful with always something to see from every terrace and the location is so convenient for the town. Even if you don’t fancy the walk back up the hill, there is always the option of a short taxi ride. We managed to park 2 large cars on the drive, with some help from Bren, plus there is additional parking on the road if needed, so is more than adequate. However what is the extra aspect is the hosting from the owners. There was excellent communication before arrival, including sending us a map of the route to the property and also suggestions of places to visit and book ahead, which proved to be very helpful as Dartmouth was pretty busy. They answered any queries extremely promptly, and even provided a bottle of prosecco and wine as well as some basic food staples to welcome us. Dartmouth is such an interesting place to visit with so much in a small area for all ages. We had a lovely week and are definitely intending to visit Dartmouth again and return to Compass Rose.
