Great place to stay in Corcega Beach, Rincon, PR

Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in May 2013

My husband and I spent 4 nights in May 2013 and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this property, you won't be disappointed if you stay here.
The house is nicely kept and the garden is just so beautiful! We spent a lot of time sitting outside just having coffee or a glass of wine.
Jean and Harry take very good care of their property and they are very nice people. They will happily provide directions to places and tips for dinning, grocery shopping etc. They'll make sure your stay is great.
It takes (literally!) 3 minutes to walk to Corcega Beach. It's a really nice and quiet beach. We went every day and had a really good time.
Rincon is a very safe and nice place to spend your vacation. Don't think it twice, go to Rincon and stay in Jean and Harry's property, you'll have a great time :)

      Perfect family vacation spot

Left on 03/29/2013 for a stay in March 2013

Jean & Harry were wonderful hosts. They were always available to answer our questions, give directions or make suggestions. The house was nice and had plenty of room for a family of 5. We could walk to the beach, grocery store or several fast food restaurants. The neighborhood was friendly and I felt quite comfortable walking around admiring the scenery. There were plenty of options for dining out (or eating in) and it's a short drive to the rain forest, lighthouse at Cabo Roho or other attractions.

One of the sunsets at the beach we could walk to. Neighborhood orchids

Ideal place to vacation as a family

Left on 03/06/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Our family of five had a fabulous time chez Jean et Harry. We stayed there a week. Walked to the beach at the end of the street many times, or drove to one of the many other great spots in Rincon. We didn't leave town for the duration of our stay, as there was plenty to do in Rincon and everyone was happy. Our kids 9, 7, and 6 were happy as clams, as were we. The place was fab: each kid had his own bedroom, so when the little darlings were tired and cranky we were able to divide and conquer without the usual scrabbling.

Jean and Harry were ideal hosts. We will definitely return. If you can book their place for your holiday you should do it!

Thanks Harry and Jean for making our vacation so memorable.

Myself, husband and our family recently visited Villa Sol. We had a great time! We visited lots of beautiful beaches, snorkeled, hunted for sea glass and shared family fun in the tropics! Every night we had wonderful gourmet dinners using fresh fish and local produce! Prepared by me and my husband of course! We also celebrated my sons 1st Birthday! Limo around Rincon and then to one of my favorite spots Joe's Resturant and Bar at the Marina! To say the least we will be back!! My parents own the best villa in town!!!

The location is great! The house gives you the real Puerto Rican experience! It is not a "touristy" neighborhood. Anything we asked Jean, she either supplied it or told us where to get it. Anything you need for the beach is provided: fresh towels, beach chairs, umbrella, noodles for floating! Even beach tennis! The beach is just a short walk away and is beautiful! We plan to return there asap-hopefully next summer! We went with 2 adult children and their spouses, and our month old grandaughter-everyone loved the place and Jean!

This has been our 4th time staying with Jean and Harry at Villa Sol. We have stayed other places on the island, but none have been as wonderful and relaxing as the times spent in Rincon with Jean and Harry. Villa Sol is so well maintained and always clean, the neighborhood is super friendly, Jean and Harry are so helpful and full of ideas and incredibly accommodating. Everything you could possibly need has been provided. We travel with my family of 2 children and grandparents for a total of 7(and this year the other set of grandparents, who stayed upstairs at Cozy for Two) and there is always enough space and something for everyone. Rincon has been a great destination for our family's vacations, and we are already looking forward to next year's trip.

We stayed with Jean and Harry from June 1 to June 5. We had the most fabulous time here! Jean & Harry showed us great hospitality and the guest house was awesome! We are a family of six with 4 boys ages 7,8 17 & 18 and this home was very spacious and comfortable. The house is about 2-3 blocks walking distance to a beautiful beach. Our boys could not get enough of the beach! Anything you need to know, just ask Miss Jean and Harry! They gave us info on what beaches to go to, and they can help you book some tours as well! Very safe and comfortable neighborhood, never had concerns with the older boys exploring the area, even at night. The kitchen is fully stocked & we made breakfast here every day. Rincon is the perfect home base to do some day tripping to Cabo Rojo to see that gorgeous beach, & Boqueron Beach. The public beach close to town was also a great hangout! Watch where the locals get in to the water cause they know where there are no rocks! God willing, we will be coming back here next year with some more family! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay Harry & Miss Jean!!

Loved the house and the location

Left on 04/09/2012 for a stay in April 2012

Lovely house in a local neighborhood - not just tourists. House was extremely clean. Well furnished. The host was attentive and helpful. She even helped us with a load of laundry and made us an "Easter bunny" made from a carved cantaloupe.

Great house for anyone but it's more set up for older children and adults. It's maintained very well and things could get scratched up if a 4 year old was let loose. Our kids were in the tween range and it worked great.

Fantastic for three couples or two couples with 2-3 kids.

The local beach is narrow and nice and clean. The first night it was very calm for anyone to swim in, but then a storm came in off shore and the waves got rather large and started covering the whole beach. We could still swim, but left our towels and other items at the house. We held on to our younger child since she was not a strong swimmer, but they loved the the higher waves.

We enjoyed the local flavor of well cared for dogs, cats, chickens in the streets. Local lunch place a block away and bakery 3-4 blocks away. We felt like we never needed to leave the neighborhood, though we did venture out into the surrounding area.

      Welcoming, lovely place to stay

Left on 03/02/2012 for a stay in February 2012

We had such a nice time staying in Rincon in the Villa Sol apartment at Jean's house. Our group had myself and my husband, another couple, and another couple with a toddler. Each couple had their own private bathroom, because there are three, attached to the bedrooms, which was really nice.

Our host, Jean, helped out so much, from helping us find vegetarian friendly restaurants, to giving my arriving friends directions over the phone at night, to setting us up with daily beach towels. She also has a great collection of beach and snorkel gear that she shared, which made it really easy to take day trips with all the amenities :).

Most of the time we cooked at the house, and found the kitchen to have pretty much everything you need. One of the things we had the most fun with was finding local fruits and vegetables. There are a couple great stands with locally grown stuff about a 3-4 minute drive away on route 115. We ate local pineapples, little mini bananas called ninos, red bananas, medium yellow bananas, green plantains, ripe plantains, mandarin oranges, oranges, limon dulce (which are the size of lemons, but with pinkish insides and sweet not sour -very good!), caymito or star apple, grapefruit, chironja (a mild citrus that looks like a grapefruit but has no tang pretty much), coconuts, papaya, sugar cane, big avocados (which were coming from the DR this time of year), watermelon, guayabana (white sweet insides of a spiny green fruit), corazon (mushy sweet tangy fruit with a heart shape), and others whose names I don't remember. They have many interesting roots for sale too, some of which we tried and liked. If you come to the area in general and like fruit, you can have a lot of fun tasting different things at the road side stands!

Also don't miss the organic farmers market in Rincon. It happens on the first Saturday of the month, and I think also the third, but don't quote me on that. It opens at 8am (or did when we were there), and since a lot of the farms are small, I recommend going early to get good stuff - we got there later on, like 10, and people had sold out of heirloom tomatoes, and some fruits, but still had some awesome flat beans, arugula, papaya, chocolate grown and made into delicious bars at a farm 30 min away, and other stuff. Very nice farmers! We are farmers up in Massachusetts, so we love going to markets and visiting farms, and we met a farmer there that welcomed us to their place, so we got to visit a small organic vegetable farm during our stay!

Once she figured out we liked it, Jean also came up with fruit for us, from her star fruit tree that bears year-round, and vines growing across the street, and some neighbor that had little guavas or passion fruits or something :)

Things in the area not to miss: Watching surfers on a high surf advisory day, body riding waves at Sandy Beach by the Tamboo Bar, which has very tasty Pina Coladas, day trip down to the beach next to the Cabo Rojo lighthouse (so beautiful!), smoothies at Banana Dang in Rincon (try them dirty - with espresso shots - we went almost every day), breakfast at the English Rose in Rincon (be prepared to wait to sit), snorkeling at Steps Beach (sea turtles), the Mayaguez Plaza del Mercado (don't go before 8am on a weekday like we did, they open slowly even though we read somewhere on here to go at dawn, there's a guy with fresh juices there, Saturdays might be better), Camuy Caves (go early in am to get in).

Thank you Jean for such a wonderful stay, and for all your help!

Villa Sol was the perfect place for our multi-generational family vacation. Our home away from home consisted of 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, kitchen/dining area, living room and a beautiful covered outdoor porch that became our family gathering space. Everything was spotless. Our grandchildren had space to play in the yard. We all enjoyed the brief stroll to the gorgeous beach. Words can't begin to describe how warmly we were welcomed and treated during our stay - deli tray awaiting us after a long day of travel, fresh beach towels for everyone every day. We didn't want to leave and will definitely go back!

Our surfing family of 6 just returned from a relaxing vacation in Rincon, PR. We couldn't have chosen better accommodations. The personal touch offered by Jean and Harry is outstanding. Not only is the 4 bedrooms/3 baths quaintly furnished and ample, the hospitality of the proprietors went the extra mile. Cold cuts, juice and coffee were waiting upon our arrival. Harry was quick with directions to the best surfing/beach locations, picked luscious starfruit for us from their own tree, promptly attended to any need within reason. His suggestions for vendors, shops and restaurants never disappointed. Every beach item imaginable is available in the storage room. They even laundered our sons' swim trunks! The kitchen is adequately stocked with cooking utensils/items. I cooked in most days. I would highly recommend Villa Sol for your Rincon retreat.

Enjoying a meal in the outside dining room!

I left my heart at Villa Sol

Left on 12/18/2011 for a stay in December 2011

and I know Jean and Harry will take good care of it until my return. I traveled with my husband, my mother, my late cousin's husband and my late cousin's best friend to Rincon and stayed with Jean & Harry. Jean & Harry made planning everything so easy. They answered all our questions, even the silly ones. They remove the trash daily, provide clean towels for the bath and for the beach! Lots of beach toys and chairs you can borrow. Plenty of books for reading. Coolers to take to the beach, snorkel equipment, an outside shower to rinse the sand off. A flashlight or 2, ice trays, sunscreen, alcohol, shampoo/conditioner, tastefully decorated. Plenty of space, and we had 5 adults with us. They really have thought of everything! The location is great. Just a short stroll down the street to a small beach, or a short drive down the other street to a bigger beach. And I do mean short stroll, I am lazy, I dont like to walk anywhere and this was really close!!! Their home is magnificent and very well kept. The a/C units keep the bedrooms cool at night for sleeping. I dont think my mother even used the a/C at all in her room as it was cool enough for her with the windows open and a ceiling fan. There are roosters and they are going to wake you, I actually found it comforting in a weird way. The people of Rincon are so friendly. We much enjoyed "living" with the locals. Jodi & Brian bought lobster from a guy at the beach. We watched the school kids dressed in uniform get on the bus each morning, while exchanging "hello's" with the joggers and bicycle riders as they passed by the villa. The sunsets are breathtaking and the food kiosks on the side of the road are so tasty!! It is so close to aguadilla airport and the drive is fairly simple. If you have never been to P.R. before, you are in for a treat when it comes to getting around. I suggest a GPS or the google map on my iphone worked great! You are going to want to venture away to do some things. Jean & Harry have plenty of suggestions for food and things to do and directions to get you there. I stopped people driving by and asked directions, stopped at someones house who was outside working and asked for directions, everyone was so nice, even if they didnt speak english very well, they still tried their hardest and they got me where I was going! Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all. I am happy to share!!!

A Guest houst that made our stay above and beyond our expectatio

Left on 10/31/2011 for a stay in October 2011

I recently traveled to Rincon with my mother, brother, husband, and infant son. I was a little apprehensive about staying away from home with a baby, but we had all of the comforts of home in the guest house. Jean and Harry made our stay absolutely wonderful. I found the guest house on the internet, and Jean was great about answering all of my questions via email. During our stay, Jean and Harry were available every day to answer our questions about different beaches, and to figure out whatever we needed in the rental.

The guest house itself was very spacious. My mother and brother each had their own room and bathroom, and the adjoining bedrooms were great for my husband and myself in one, the baby in the other, and we also had our own bathroom. It was great that we had our own space, but yet had a relaxing outdoor area to hang out in at night. We did most of our eating at home, and we had the necessary supplies to do so. The outdoor BBQ worked well for cooking our meats.

The area was perfect, close to beaches and shopping. The beach down the street was great to walk to at night to catch the sunsets.

Overall, our experience was very enjoyable. We will definitely visit Rincon again, and we will be sure to stay with Jean and Harry!

Our family of 8 stayed at Villa Sol for a week, August 17-24. We were immediately welcomed by friendly, helpful, caring Jean and Harry and the trip just got better from there! The house was immaculately clean, very spacious and conveniently located to a beautiful beach within a very short walk (less than 5 minutes). The kitchen was well stocked for our needs. Anything we needed was a short drive nearby. There was even a great restaurant within a very short walk (Nativo, maybe an 8 minute walk). Jean and Harry made sure we had clean towels everyday, clean sheets whenever we wanted and even offered to do laundry for us! We were provided with beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear and "noodles". Jean and Harry were always there for advice, suggestions and for any minor problem we had. There was delicious star fruit growing in the yard, for our picking, and Harry picked us great avocados, too. With our car rental, we were able to see and do a lot of things in Rincon and travel further around Puerto Rico, too. We all had a wonderful time at Villa Sol and highly recommend it.

Have you ever sat back and closed your eyes...drifted to that magical place of solace...imagined sipping on a pina colada, staring into clear skies while having pristine waves tickle your toes, soaking up the suns kisses...watching the mammoth ocean chew on coconuts and spit them back out? Villa Sol is a best-kept secret away from the rush. Its a rose in Paradise.

Jean and Harry are a couple that I hope my husband and I grow to be. They are thoughtful, caring, thorough and detail oriented. Together, a double threat! Very mom and Pop.

You see, I coulddescribe the elabrate vaction my family and I had...but it would have not been as special or accomidating if it wasn't for Jean and Harry.

My husband and I travelled with our infant and two small children. Who do you know will call and let you know they have made it their personal mission to place a crib and high chair in before your arrival? Or being stuck in traffic and having food avaliable for your hungry family? (3 girls that have the appetite of thier father!)

My point is this...I can not speak of the vacation I have with out touching on the core rock of why it was so memorable and easy. It was because of Jean and Harry. The home away from home that always kept the light on.

This is the second time vacationing here and upon return, will be the only place we stay. I miss them like family...but just like the waves that tickled my toes while I sipped my pina colada, we'll return and see each other once more.

Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Jean and Harry were the perfect hosts. The first floor where we stayed was clean, roomy and well equipped.
We felt cared for as they strove to make sure we had what we needed. They answered our questions regarding local stores, markets, the town of Rincon, the people, points of interests, etc. They gave us good tips on where to get necessary items and where not to. We felt free to call upon Jean and Harry at anytime because they went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable.
We have family in Puerto Rico but chose to make this trip the touring the island vacation that we always wanted, so we did our homework and decided to stay with Jean and Harry. There we got a true sense of Puerto Rico, not the Resort view.
Thank you, Jean and Harry for proving a clean and beautiful place to stay--and for all the extras!
God willing, when we return to PR in the near future, we will certainly keep you in mind as a wonderful place to stay again. We recommend Villa Sol to anyone!

Great Hosts and a Wonderful Puerto Rico Experience

Left on 05/05/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We stayed at Villa Sol with family and friends. Jean and Harry were wonderful hosts. They rent the first and third floors of their home and live on the second floor. The first floor where we stayed is great for families and the third floor (which I did not see) is a one bedroom couples spot with it's own balcony. They are very friendly, helpful and had a way of being there when you wanted or needed them while still making it feel like we had the place to ourselves. They've lived in PR for ten years so had many recommendations on beaches, stores, bakeries, restaurants, and other sites.

The house is comfortable, clean, and well equipped. We basically lived at the outside dining area and were never bothered by biting insects. You can walk down the street to the beach or drive to Steps Beach for snorkeling or the next beach for surfing. Like much of Puerto Rico, the street on which Villa Sol is located is a mix of very nice and well maintained homes (including the not-to-be missed "Mr. Carerro & Sons Family Love Castle") mixed in with less well maintained properties. Don't be put off by this - the people are all very friendly and we always felt very safe.

If you want a resort vacation this is not your kind of place. If you want to get a sense of Puerto Rico, complete with roosters crowing in the morning or a walk down to the local grocery in the morning, then Harry and Jean are great ambassadors who can help you understand the culture. We felt fortunate to have been able to meet the Jean and Harry and see this part of Puerto Rico.

Jean & Harry were wonderful hosts. We were greeted upon our arrival with a lunchmeat tray. Jean & Harry welcomed us and made sure we were well accomodated. The home was immaculate! Beds were comfortable, beach towels, coolers, beach chairs all were provided to us. Sitting area was wonderful every morning. The beach was barely 2 blocks away & what a scenic view! People were friendly. This home was all we it expected and much more. Jean & Harry were on the premises to assist us with anything we needed from the milk we forgot for coffee to leaving us notes in case we needed to reach them. Beautiful memories - we will gladly return. Recommended to anyone!

      wonderful beach vacation

Left on 03/15/2011 for a stay in February 2011

Jean and Harry were exceptional hosts. The home was clean and roomy. We had a group of 6 plus a toddler and were very comfortable. The beach was a short walk away but we chose to drive an extra 3 minutes to a nicer spot plus it was easier to transport all the beach chairs and other beach toys that Jean and Harry provide. That was a big plus. Shipwreck restaurant was a good suggestion by Jean. The food was very good. The fresh towels everyday and the laundering of our clothes was awesome. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and we found it. Everyday was a beach day. I Would definitely return.

      Relaxing week at Villa Sol

We just returned form a week long vacation at Villa Sol. My traveling group consisted of my husband and I, along with my mother, father, aunt, and uncle.

Villa Sol is exactly as it has been described in previous reviews. It is clean, comfortable, and spacious. Jean and Harry are indeed great hosts. They have mastered the art of being available without being overbearing, which I can imagine is not an easy task.

Left on 01/05/2011 for a stay in December 2010

Our family of 8 adults and 2 grandchildren couldn't have picked a more desired home for our holiday vacation. We thought Jean went above and beyond what a normal landlord would provide. Fresh towels were provided daily for our beach time. When we asked if we could use her washing machine to clean some dirty diapers, Jean graciously volunteered to be our "diaper washer". She was very knowledgeable about the area and always steered us in the right direction as to what to do and see. Even though we had the bottom unit and Jean lived on the second floor, we never felt like our privacy was compromised. Our family lived outside on the patio area most of the time. All meals and game playing was done here.

You won't be disappointed if you select Villa Sol for your vacation site. Not only is Jean a great host but the neighborhood is great as well. There is a grocery and bakery close by to pick up your freshly baked loafs of bread. We definitely felt like we were on "Island Time" at the villa de sol! Thank you Jean for a wonderful and memorable week!

We had stayed at Villa Sol for four days. It was a memorable experience.
The place was exquisite by all means.
The home was loaded with all amenities that a family would like to have. Jean had every basic detail that a vacationing family with kids would need. She had all the beach stuff too. We need not do last minute shopping as Jean's place was self sufficient.
The place was kept so clean and Jean would hand us every day fresh linens and towels. She is a great host!!! and she gave us a Welcome gift too!!!
We had stayed there with family and kids. The kids had absolute fun!! Beach is walkable distance from Villa Sol.
We would really consider going back!!! Looking forward for the same.

Also, each day we had fresh towels, beach towels and equipment when ever we needed it and she even washed our swimwear for us. This place was beyond hospitable. Jean and Harry's house was perfect for our vacation. It's just a two minute walk from a stunning beach, set in a Puerto Rican neighborhood complete with chickens and lots of local flavor. Jean and Harry are friendly and helpful and answered all our questions about where to go and what to do, provided beach chairs and snorkel equipment, and gave us fresh beach towels every day. The outdoor dining area was a treat, and included a hammock; it made the house feel even larger. We ate three meals a day out there (when we weren't at the beach!) The house was sparkling clean. Our group of 7 had plenty of space in 4 bedrooms/3 baths. Ceiling fans and A/C kept it very comfortable in the heat. Definitely recommended!

      Warm & Relaxing

Left on 04/11/2010 for a stay in March 2010

What can we say that hasn't been said before? Jean, Harry and their son were some of the most pleasant , accomadating and generally nicest people we've met. Their home was as advertised - Spacious, clean (We wish Jean could be in charge of some of the hotels we stayed at!!!)and close to a lovely beach within a 2-3 minute walk. My family (Wife, 20 year old & 9 old daughters) and in-laws (Mid- 70's originally from Puerto Rico) all enjoyed ourselves immensely. We were on our first vacation in over two years and intially stood at a resort in Guanica for the first four days of our vacation. The next four days we stood in Rincon @ Villa Sol for day trips to check the sights, beaches, etc. My girls got a little lazy so we ended up for the most part enjoying the lovely beach down the street and Vila Sol. Jean and Harry have everything you need - beach chairs, boogie boards, tubes and beach towels. They even offered to wash our swimsuits but I think it was a ploy for Harry to get his hands at my green floral trunks!! (Private joke) Highly recommend a stay - They are so helpful with regards to sights, food, bars, etc - They just love that side of the island and they fit in perfectly because the locals are just as friendly as they are.

First and foremost it's a H O M E - And after you unwind a bit it starts to feels a little like your own home. Nuff said!

Nothing prepares you to what Rincon is like with the depiction of these particular pictures. There are pockets of vacant homes with graffiti and garbage on the same block as this place. Dogs, cats and chickens roam freely and wake you up at 4:30 A.M. everyday. The shore of the beach is quite rocky so either bring some lava rock shoes or else find a sandy bottom beach elsewhere. Our flat felt very confining due to the fact that they kept closed three other rooms inside of it. So if you are looking for something cheap....remember you get what you pay for.

Doug & Nancy, thank you for the card stating that you had a great time and the $50.00 Gift Certificate to the Shipwreck. Harry and I greatly appreciated it.

Villa Sol is located in a nice, quiet, friendly, and very family oriented neighborhood known as Parcelas Estela. The is an abandoned store close to the beach that the property owners do not maintain. Rincon residents have formed a group Graffiti Hurts Rincon and has done and is doing a great job on painting over the graffiti. You can follow their accomplishments in the El Coqui of Rincon starting with the October issue. http://www.coquirincon.com/October%20Coqui-compress.pdf. No matter where you go in Puerto Rico you will find dogs, cats, and chickens. ARF (Animal Resue Foundation) of Rincon has done a fantastic job on keeping the dogs and cats off the streets. Their website is http://arfrincon.org/.

Corcega Beach is a nice calm swimming beach and is enjoyed by everyone. Tourist and local residents jog and walk for miles along this beach. Some of the homeowners have put bolders in front of their homes to protect their land. It's not a problem walking or jogging around them. You might get a little wet around your ankles.

The inquiry was for our Cozy For Two unit which was not available so for accommodations I offered our first floor which has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If Cozy For Two is booked I always offer Villa Sol even for 2 people if it is available and they have the Queen's Room with bath, kitchen, living area, and outdoor dining area for the same rate. I close the other 2 bedroom doors and our guest has the rest of the villa.

Harry and I maintain Villa Sol to the highest level of comfort for our guest. Our rates are very reasonable and we look after our guest.

The house was just spotlessly clean, one of the cleanest rentals I have ever stayed in. Everything in the house was in working order, and we really appreciated the food and drinks that were provided on arrival. Corcega Beach was so convenient, and is an absolutely beautiful beach, great for swimming, sunning, walking, and relaxing. I took my son, one of his friends and a couple of my friends down to Rincon
for a long weekend of surfing. Jean and Harry were wonderful. We had the
lower floor of their house, with four bedrooms, a kitchen (simply equipped)
and a living room with a TV. Everything was very clean and well kept. The
house is situated in a low-key residential neighborhood with a small
supermarket nearby to one direction and the beach (and a local beach bar)
in the other. Rincon is far more developed than when I was there last 15
years ago, but it is still fairly quiet. Jean pointed us toward a few great
local joints for food where the five of us ate for less than $30 (for all or us,
not each). That compares to some of the more touristy places we ate lunch,
which were two or three times as expensive. Surfing was awesome! Crystal
blue water with overhead waves every day.

Best part of the package are Jean and Harry - they make sure everything is
right. When my son got a sunburn, they showed us how to cut leaves from
an Aloe plant in their garden to soothe the burn. Jean even did our laundry
one day - talk about service! Only negatives were the tiny ants that found
their way to the crumbs in the keyboard of my son's laptop - maybe they
managed to get them all out.

You are correct in saying "Harry and Jean makes sure that everything is right". Living in the tropics we do have a few ants especially if crumbs are not picked up when they are dropped. They took care of our laundry and gave us fruit (star fruit and Bannanas) They are awesome--offering advice about local resturants but at the same time not invading privacy. The apartment is on the first floor of the house and was very spacious comfortable and extrememly clean (including the floors). The bedrooms were comfortable and the airconditioning in the bedrooms were strong. It was a relaxing space to come back to every night. Two blocks from a gorgeous, quiet and safe sandy beach, Villa Sol was a perfect place to spend a restful vacation. The villa and grounds are beautifully designed and well cared for. Jean and Harry are wonderful hosts. They're helpful, hospitable, and always respectful of their guest's privacy. Usually I opt for hotels, but Villa Sol was much better than any hotel I saw in Rincon. I look forward to going back there again!

My girlfriend and I stayed at Villa Sol in September on a brief trip we made to
Rincon... the house was beautiful. Everything was spotless and Jean and Harry
were more than willing to accommodate us in any way possible. It was all that
was promised and more... We had rented the smaller unit but upon arrival had
been told we were given an upgrade because no one else had booked the
larger unit. Villa Sol is a great place to stay in a really cool place to visit.

We had an incredible time at Villa Sol! The house is only 2 blocks away from the beach, and in a local neighborhood. Another two blocks down the road there is a track for those like my self who like to run on their vacation :-) My husband and I greatly enjoyed the hospitality of the Hopkins and were always greeted with a friendly "hello" when coming and going. We officially starting referring to the Hopkins as "porch people" because they take advantage of the beautiful weather and were always avilable to answer any questions we had as we were coming and going. The best part was being able to take beach chairs, boogie boards, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, and the whole nine yards when going to the beach without worrying about having to spend money!!! The apartment was spotless and comfortable and their service to us as guests was incredible! Fresh beach/bathroom towels without asking and fresh fruit growing in the yard...try some passion fruit!! Also try Steps Beach..just 2 miles away ...awesome snorkeling! But you must visit Cabo Rojo beach at the national reserve.....the most beautiful beach Matt and I had ever been to. Make sure you rent a car to explore the city of Rincon...surfing mecca in the winter months! We would greatly recommend this rental....oh, and don't forget to take an animal home when you leave.....you'll know what i mean when you get there!! :-)

Spelling is not important. Harry and I know that you can sing and speak in English and you are absolutely wonderful. We had a good time listening to your music and of course I had a great time dancing with the family. Our neighbors enjoyed the music also. Thanks for staying with us, you and your family were great guest, and the next family get together do it at Villa Sol. Thanks for the great review.

      A Wonderful Experience!

Left on 07/31/2009 for a stay in July 2009

My extended family of seven recently stayed at beautiful Villa Sol in Rincon. We were extremely pleased with every aspect of our visit. We stayed on the entire first floor and our hosts Jean and Harry Hopkins occupied the second floor. The house is very nicely decorated, roomy and immaculate. We had no concerns what so ever letting our one year old nephew crawl around on the floor in the house or in the yard.
Jean and Harry were wonderful hosts and very nice people who had a lot of great suggestions of what to do and see in the area. Jean made us fresh juice drinks made from fruit from her garden. She also did our laundry everyday which with three young children was very much appreciated.
The neighborhood was safe and the house is two blocks from the beach. Harry and Jean supplied lots of beach stuff for us to use. We had a great stay and can?t wait to go back again.
Jean and Harry Thank you so much!

Jean and Harry provide a comfortable and very hospitable stay in Rincon! The house is very private, yet a hop away from the beach and fun nightlife. The house is very, very clean and cozy, with all kinds of island fruit trees right there for you to enjoy while lounging in the hammock, surfing the web, or whatever. We stayed on the first floor with our entire family, and everyone had plenty of room and comfort. I also checked out Cozy for 2, and it's lovely! I can't wait to come back and stay again.

Villa Sol is perfect place for vacation and we would recommend it to everybody who appreciate fresh fruit in the morning, fish grilling in the garden and the nicest hosts ever. The villa was very nice and clean, extremely well-maintained. And rooms were so comfortable, it made us feel like at home:) We were surprised by the equipment that Jean and Harry provided for free: snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, sunshade and clean beach towel every morning :) And the fresh aloe, when we got sunburn.
This place is truly your home away from home!

Dear Jean and Harry, thank you so much for the perfect vacation and we will be back :)

      Wonderful Stay

Left on 06/24/2009 for a stay in June 2009

My family of four had the pleasure of staying at Jean and Harry's vacation rental. At four bedrooms/3 baths, it was the perfect size for us even when my parents came to stay for a few nights. Jean and Harry were also extremely accommodating when I asked if they had an air mattress for my toddler. They had a twin air mattress waiting and also provided a high chair for our use. A nice touch was when Jean lent two baby dolls to my 2 yr old. Along those lines, they also had beach chairs, beach toys, towels, etc for us to use.

As promised, we had a meat and cheese platter, and a loaf of Puerto-Rican bread waiting for us. They also had juice and water in the fridge in case we couldn't make it to the store. Very thoughtful. Additionally, they laundered our clothes and towels, and were a wealth of knowledge for local activities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and so did the kids.

Their house is a few minutes from the town plaza/center and right down the street is a small beach. It is nice if you just want a nice quiet time at the beach by yourself or with friends and family. This place is about 20 minutes from the beaches in Aguadilla. There is an eatery a short distance at the end of their street where you can buy empanadas, alcapurrias, papa rellena, and sorellito (don't know if I spelled that right). Yummy!

Jean and Harry have a gem of a property and people would be very happy to be their guests.

My family, my extended family and I from USA and Colombia just returned from a 5 day vacation in Villa Sol. We had a wonderful time. The house is comfortable, well equipped, extremely well maintained. The proximity to the beach as well as to the neighboring convenient stores makes it an ideal location.
Jean and Harry are very hospitable. they were very attentive to every single detail. They provided us with all the things we needed, including beach umbrellas, and chairs at no extra charge! My 91 year old mother came along to attend my son's wedding and she was the happiest. We were able to handle her comfortably in her wheel chair. Everything went so well that we want to go back as soon as we can. Jean and Harry are the best hosts ever and we recommend Villa Sol as the perfect place to vacation in El Rincon.

What can I say?...4 of my friends and I spent 5 days at Jean and Harry's beautiful home in Rincon when we came over for a wedding at nearby Rincon Beach Resort and had the most awesome time ever! The apartment was a perfect base for exploring Rincon and Jean and Harry gave us lots of tips (I greatly recommend going to Shipwreck for a meal - delicious).

Apart from renting us such a beautiful home, Jean and Harry went out of their way to ensure our holiday was special, lending us beach stuff (boogie boards, snorkels, fins etc), washing our clothes, providing us with a delicious deli selection for when we arrived after our long flight and even gave some sour orange juice from their beautiful garden to soothe our sore heads after one too many of the local beers :)

The nearby beach is beautiful and pretty quiet which was great. We wish we'd asked about the snorkle beach (stepps) sooner so we could've managed to do that but alas it was too rough the day we went.

I only hope we can convince all of our friends to get married in beautiful Rincon!
