Self proclaimed as "The West's most western town", Scottsdale is one town that isn't short on heritage… or pride. In fact, the town celebrates its history as one of the American Southwest's oldest cities with frequent cultural gatherings and a thriving local arts scene.

Scottsdale's western spirit is displayed in many events that celebrate cowboy culture. Since 1955, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show has taken place annually, recently bringing in as many as 2,000 purebred horses. Another time-honored tradition in Scottsdale is the Jaycees Parada del Sol, a month-long cowboy event kicked off by the biggest horse-drawn parade in the world. If horse shows and rodeos aren't your scene, then check out other local favorites such as the annual auto show or fashion week, which brings in some of the world's notable fashion names for a week-long clothing event.

In addition to a fully-loaded events calendar, Scottsdale also has a vibrant arts scene, with original art on display throughout several art districts including downtown, Main Street Arts District, and Scottsdale Arts District. The city hosts a weekly event known as the Scottsdale Artwalk. After soaking in the city's culture, check out its nightlife. Scottsdale's casinos, night clubs and bars fill up after hours, and the downtown area is so popular that more than 25,000 people visit annually for Scottsdale's New Year’s Eve Ultimate Block Party.
