“It was so comfortable and welcoming” We were very pleased when we first entered and saw that it was very much like the pics on the internet. Once we looked around we were impressed with all the small details that you would find at someones home. It was so clean, comfortable and the area is very quiet. Air conditioning worked flawlessly and was quiet. Love the kitty that comes around once he knows someone is there to pet him/her. Only one small suggestion...small ironing board. If there was one we did not see it. One thing that was a bit disappointing but not major was the patio area was not usable. Though it is a beautiful layout there were no inviting tables and chairs. As it was so hot on this visit we wouldn't have been able to use it. We definitely plan to stay again and again.

“VERY CUTE COTTAGE CLOSE TO WHISKEY ROW......” This little cottage is really cute and comfortable. Easy walk to Whisky Row the most favorite place to be.. All you need is your food and clothes as this cottage has everything that you would find at home. We had to leave early due to a medical situation and the owner Karen has been more than understanding and kind to us.

“Nicely stocked, furnished, provided amenities, and managed but hard to find and get to” Inviting, cozy, and exceptional cabin, Lots of unexpected extras, fully stocked with extras and upgrades such as new Keurig, full shampoo, conditioner, and body soap dispensers, newer stack-able washer and drier, plenty of paper goods, cleaning supplies, including Tide pods, drier sheets, dishwasher packs, etc... Good internet connection, basic cable in living room, smart TVs, including a large one in bedroom enable Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc.. connection if you have accounts. Nice upgraded lighting fixtures, flooring, mattresses and linens, including great!! thick hotel quality towels and plenty for a full capacity occupancy. Our only frustration was finding the place and the sketchy, steep dirt street getting to the cabin. Apple maps does a good job of getting you very close to the cabin, but not to the front door of the cabin, which makes finding it especially hard in the dark. The little street, which is more like a long dirt driveway, is very easy to miss, especially because it follows closely after a larger, more visible paved street that map seems to instructs you to turn up, causing much confusion. It took us about 40 minutes of sitting on street before while my husband ran around in the cold and dark trying to find the obscure street and cabin. It was even difficult to find again for the first few times returning, especially in the dark. My recommendation would be to arrive, especially the first time, during day light. Then, once we found it, the street points the opposite direction of entering, making an awkward u turn necessary to floor it up the steep dirt street. Scary in an inadequate, smaller car. I definitely would not!!! want to attempt the street in ice and snow even with four wheel drive and chains. I would say the exceptional upkeep and amenities, sprawling floor to ceiling A frame windows, welcoming deck, lush and tranquil wooded surroundings, among other pros made it worth the hassle and frustration of finding the place, learning the markers to find it again, and figuring out the tricks to manage the steep dirt street. Multiple surveillance cameras outside the house were a little off-putting, but okay. Owner / manager responded promptly to only wrinkle, which was running out of propane to the house. The tank was filled within an hour on Christmas eve, no less. Pretty impressive response, albeit to something that shouldn't have happened, Given the exceptional upkeep of the cabin and prompt response, though, I do not believe it was the fault of management, and because the tank was filled so fast it caused minimal inconvenience. Overall, great!!! enjoyable stay. We will return, especially now that we can find it. Only bummer would be we, who normally love and welcome snow, would be crossing our fingers for no snow given the difficulty this would pose in getting to the cabin. Thanks for great stay and memories.

About Prescott

A popular jumping-off point for trips to the Grand Canyon, Prescott, AZ, is a great place to experience the American Southwest. In the wilderness around Prescott, lovely mountain ranges, ponderosa pine forests, and clear lakes offer endless possibilities for outdoor sports and recreation. With excellent scenery and a temperate climate, Prescott is an ideal destination for off-road biking, horseback riding, camping, climbing, canoeing, bird watching, hiking, or any other outdoor activity. Though it is a Southwestern city through and through, Prescott is not without its taste of history. Downtown, the city has nearly 800 buildings listed on the United States' National Register of Historic Places. The downtown district is also the best place to grab a bite in Prescott, with restaurants catering to every taste.

When visiting Prescott, be sure to make time for:

  • Lynx Lake Recreation Area: The wooded area around Lynx Lake is perfect for trout fishing, mountain biking, boating, horseback riding, and bird watching.
  • Heritage Park Zoo: A wonderful wildlife sanctuary, animals are displayed in their natural habitats at Heritage Park Zoo. Learn about birds, mammals, and reptiles at this educational zoo.
  • Goldwater Lake: Nestled amidst alpine forests, this small and pretty lake is a nice place for a day in the country and perfect for some light fishing or a relaxing picnic.
  • Mile-High Trails: Covering almost 30 miles, including the Prescott Circle Trail System and the Greenways Trails System, this circuit of footpaths is a great way to explore Prescott's wilderness.
  • Jerome: A former mining settlement, the town of Jerome is an easy day trip from Prescott and will give you a taste of Southwestern history.
  • Watson Lake: Just outside Prescott, this lovely freshwater lake is a great place for fishing, kayaking, and boating. The scenery here is beautiful, with rocky shores surrounded by granite boulders.

Unlike most of Arizona, Prescott's climate is mild. At 5,000 feet, the city is cooler than most of the state and therefore an excellent summer destination. With light snows in the winter, Prescott is also a charming place to spend the winter holidays. In fact, Prescott has been designated Arizona's official Christmas city. Throughout November and December, there are lovely Christmas traditions staged in town, including the annual Gingerbread Village, said to be the largest gingerbread settlement in the world, and the Holiday Light Parade at the Courthouse Square.

A vacation rental is the best way to make the most of your time in Prescott. Before you head to Prescott, seek out a cozy cabin rental in the woods, a lakeside condo rental, or a Victorian vacation home in the historic downtown district. To explore the region around Prescott, an apartment rental can be the perfect alternative to a hotel, affording you more space and privacy.

Five Star Experience with ALL the comforts of home

We really enjoyed our stay - the six of us were VERY comfortable. The house was AMAZING!! Immaculate, comfortable, all the amenities you could want - all under one roof. The neighborhood was great - friendly neighbors! Not only did the owners anticipate our every need - they were available, by phone, to handle any questions or concerns. The pictures don't do the house justice. We will definitely come back and stay again. Definitely a FIVE STAR experience!!!see more

Prescott House w/ Porch & Patio - Walk to Downtown
Lovely home

The house was located on a quiet street within walking distance of downtown Prescott. The house was decorated so cute and the ambiance was just right for visiting with family. The bedrooms were well situated and the beds were comfortable. There were extra blankets if needed. The only small complaint was that we had to go and buy toilet paper. There was a fireplace but we chose not to use it. Fire starters were provided. There was a fire pit outside.see more
