Description

Fully renovated cottage with immaculate interior and view from the most rooms of the Potomac River. We are not located on the river, but across the street on a very quiet road. A water access easement runs from our door step to the Potomac River bulkhead: night lights of Virginia, spectacular sunset views, and abundance of wildlife. This is not a good place to access the water. Boat and kayak launch is available at the marina for $10. fee. We are happy to guide you to beach areas where you can put your toes in the water.

Two of the three bedrooms are outfitted with comfortable queen-size beds, the third is set up as a den with fireplace and reclining sofa (single); the queen sofa-bed in the living room is very comfortable as sofa or pull out bed.

The central heat is forced air that is supplemented with two fireplaces (electric and candle lit) to keep you toasty inside during the winter. The fire pit outside compliments the view and is a great place to roast hotdogs and marshmallows. Central AC can be turned off if you prefer to enjoy the breeze and birdsong. All windows are screened. There is also a screened cabana that can be used with prior notice.

Smart TVs, cable, Netflix, Wi-Fi, docking stations, as well as linens are here along with and any other items you might expect in a well equipped home, including bikes, puzzles and Keurig.

Fishing and Crabbing for our famous Maryland Blue Crabs is a popular activity and Tall Timbers Private Beach Club is short walk from the cottage. We are happy to assist you in booking fishing charters, or cruise the Potomac with a qualified waterman.

The village of Tall Timbers and the Marina are both an easy walk. The beaches, docks, lighthouse and bridge at Piney Point and St. George's Island are a short drive. Located fifteen miles by car from Historic St. Mary's City (Maryland's Colonial Capitol dating to 1634) we are only two hours from the District of Columbia.
