Location: Tulum, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, Mexico (45 Min. South of Playa Del Carmen, 2 Hrs South of Cancun)
Accommodations: Townhouse, 2 Bedrooms w Queen, King and double Bed + 2 sofa bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 7)
Our Townhouse is located just outside the town of Tulum (south about 1/2 mile, or less), in a small secure, walled and gated, Townhouse community with well maintained grounds and swimming pool.
It is 3 levels with an open air Palapa on the third floor. Five minutes from lots of shopping and dining in the pueblo of Tulum and just 10 minutes to the most beautiful beaches in the world.

My friend and I stayed at this townhouse in mid-March 2013. Aside from a minor hiccup upon arriving, everything was wonderful. It is located in a private area off the main road so there is no traffic noise. Yet it is in a perfect location to explore all the local sights. The beach is more like a 15-20 min drive away and really not practical to get to on a bicycle. There are a number of fine white sand beaches to visit, though our favorite was Ziggy Beach. You are near the Mayan ruins in Tulum, Muyil, and Coba. The Sian Kan Biosphere reserve is also nearby. The town of Tulum is a sleepy Mexican town by comparison to Cancun or Playa, which still has numerous fine restaurants for dining. The townhouse itself is well appointed (except no TV) and well maintained. We took advantage of the patio for dining all the time. It is a very comfortable house for four people and a bit more of a squeeze for six (having to use the futons in the living room for beds at night. The townhouse is inside a small gated community with a private pool and you will feel very safe.
If you are looking for something a bit different and not wanting to stay at a big resort, this would be a fine alternative. You will definitely need a car. -

This condo has it all. Spacious bedrooms and baths, professional kitchen and the pool, and grounds are fabulous. It's perfect distance from town and the beach and has a quiet, neighborly feel to it. I can say enough about how nice everone is down there too. Looking forward to my next trip to paradise.
