Hannibal MOA haven instead of a hotel
Left on 11/09/2011 for a stay in November 2011
This was our first experience staying at a Bed and Breakfast and we're already making plans to stay at the Hiding Place again. We were visiting Hermann (about a 20 minute drive from Warrenton) for wine tasting and vineyard tours, and staying at the Hiding Place was completely worth the drive from Warrenton to Hermann.
Location: Even though the B&B; is in the city, the location of the house was quiet. There is easy access to Interstate 70, or less-busy back roads to visit Hermann.
The rooms: My husband and I stayed in the Loft Suite and absolutely loved it. The room was quite large, very clean, excellently decorated, and so comfortable. The bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept it. We also loved the privacy of being in a separate building for the main house. The room came with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot. Debbie left coffee, cream (real cream, not powder!), sugar and teabags in our room. I highly recommend this room if you're looking for something more private.
The grounds: There is a beautiful in-ground pool and hot tub, but due to the timing of our visit we didn't use them. The back deck on the house overlooks the pool area, which is surrounded by a wooden fence. The house, grounds, everything was just beautiful and very well kept.
The hostess: Debbie was such a wonderful hostess. From the first time I spoke with her on the phone, she was genuine, kind and caring. She took great care of us and was attentive, but also gave us our privacy. At breakfast she created an environment that was warm and welcoming. The food was delicious and the conversation very encouraging.
The Hiding Place was a wonderful home for my husband and I while on vacation. I highly recommend staying here.
